      Thanks! 😃 The Northern Ireland accent can be a bit hit or miss with people.

    An attractive all-in-one solution. Unfortunately, there is no information about the dimensions on the homepage.
    Could someone please help me find out how much space the combination of headstrap and charging station with controllers has, i.e. width, depth and height?
    What is the height of the rear holder of the headstrap and would you have to add this if you wanted to put them together on a shelf?

      The dimensions of the stand are 272x269x196mm (10.7x10.6x7.7 inches). You may need to take into consideration the headstrap you use, as a rigid headstrap will need extra depth to accommodate it.

    When charging, does it charge both VR headset and battery at the same time?

    • @_InkGamer_
      @_InkGamer_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, first the Vr and then the battery (if it is the kiwi battery strap/ don't know if it also works with other brands)

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, both are charged via the one charging point. I think it will only do this with the KIWI Design SPC battery strap.

    I'm a bit confused. I don't have to have this charging station plugged into my wall outlet at all?

      The stand charges via 5G signals. Dumb ass 2:22

      You do. The charging stand needs to be connected to a power source as it has no integrated battery.

    Where is the option for the magnetic headstrap? I just got mine yesterday and its unfortunately just the regular usb c plug. Would have been nice to use the stand with the headstrap. Hope an adapter comes.

      KIWI Design have a regular battery strap and an SPC (single-point charging) battery strap. It's the SPC strap that work with the stand.

  • @RonaldEpstein
    @RonaldEpstein ปีที่แล้ว

    Anyone know if this would work with the Bobo M3 attached?

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      You won't be able to charge both the headset and the BOBO M3 using this charging dock. The only battery strap that lets you charge both the headset and battery strap while using this charging dock is the the KIWI Design SPC battery strap.

      @@VRLowdown Thanks. That I understand. I just want to be able to charge the headset but more concerned if the Bobo M3 or standard Kiwi (no battery) headstrap will prevent proper placement or add too much weight to the stand.

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      The stand is able to accommodate the regular KIWI comfort strap and I've also tried it with the official Elite Strap and another 3rd party battery strap and the headset sits on the stand without issue. I'm not sure about the BOBO strap as I haven't tested it yet.

    Hi mate got mine 2day played for 3 hours straight quest battery stayed at 100% head strap went from 4 lights to 1 . When I put the quest on the dock the light stayed green, what I’m wondering is do u fink it would be better to recharge the headstrap independently because overcharging the quest could damage the battery over time any thoughts?

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is exactly what happens with mine. If the headset is still at 100% charge the green LED will show, but the battery strap will charge. Ther's no need to charge the headstrap independently, as the charging dock will just keep the headset at 100% and charge the batery strap.

    • @jayjayp9618
      @jayjayp9618 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh that’s my point tho if the quest is light is green and u keep letting it charge surely it bad for the quest battery cells in the long run due to overcharging

      @@VRLowdown You can leave your headset and controllers in the charging dock overnight; that way, they can be fully charged the next morning. It is recommended, though, that you don't leave the controllers and headset in the charging dock for a long period of time, as this can damage the battery and cause it to not play as long. This is from meta website

    Is there a headstrap that you can recommend for comfort? Thank you

      I replied to your comment on the other video, but in case you don't read it, the best battery head strap I've tried is the KIWI Design one. It has a similar design to the official elite battery strap. Alternatively, the BOBO VR M3 battery strap has a great reputation. If you don't want a strap with a battery, it's hard to look past the KIWI Design comfort strap.

    Hiya, fantastic review, mate. I just got mine this weekend and it's such a great thing to simply plonk my the headset on the stand and the magnet clicks into place. This entire set up also works great with a AMVR facial interface so would recommend that if you find the original face padding too itchy.
    One question I have is what's your general charge time for the combo of strap and headset? It seems quite a bit slower for me to charge both the headset strap and Q3 on the stand then if I did them separately sans stand. For example, if I have no LEDs on the battery strap and the Q3 battery is less than 5%, it takes around 7-8 hours of charge from the magnetic cable link. The Q3 gets charged fairly quickly quickly but the head strap battery appear to take an age with some wonky LEDs indicators not being properly accurate. I use a USB-C charge tester device to see when there's no more actual charging going through the stand as having a solid 4 LED light isn't an indicator of a complete charge for the headstrap.
    So how long on average does it appear to take for you to charge both the Q3 and the headstrap via the stand?

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Apologies for the delay replying. The problem you're experiencing is that the magnetic charger only has 5V 2A input, vs 5V 3A on the standard charger. It takes about 200 min to charge the head strap from 0% with the magnetic charger and about 140 mins with the normal charger. Overall, it takes me just under 6 hours to charge both the headset and headstrap from 0% to 100% using the magnetic charger.
      It's definitely a negative of this stand, but I get about 5 hours battery life with the headset and battery strap combo, so I'm less likely to need to jump back into VR quickly after this.
      I also have the AMVR facial interface. It's loads better than the default one.

    Can it go into sleep mode while on there? Shouldn't the headset mistake the stand for your face and not enter sleep mode??

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will go into sleep mode as normal. The cradle of the stand is too far from the sensor for it to mistake it as being your face.

    Does it charge the official meta 3 elite strap with battery or just the Kiwi one?

    • @VRLowdown
      @VRLowdown  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the Kiwi one. If you're using the official Meta battery strap, you need to plug the charger into the battery strap manually.

  • @radioman970
    @radioman970 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    nice, but I'd rather just keep mine in a box to keep the dust off of it. That's the biggest problem with something like this. (and my poor house cleaning practices, heh heh) I can charge it by using the included charger. I did put up a battery strap and cable that will charge it while I play PCVR.

    so they normally want $80 for a piece of plastic that lifts your headset off the ground then? I'm not seeing the appeal at all. I still have to plug in the usb-c, it does nothing for controllers. Might as well spend more money and get the Meta one.
