The uric acid blood test is used to detect high levels of this compound in the blood in order to help diagnose gout. The test is also used to monitor uric acid levels in people undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Rapid cell turnover from such treatment can result in an increased uric acid level. The uric acid urine test is used to help diagnose the cause of recurrent kidney stones and to monitor people with gout for stone formation. Uric Acid can be estimated in serum / plasma using Uricase method.

Sir, factor depends on the concentration of standard given in the kit, Reagent : Sample ratio as well as the wavelength at which the absorbance is measured. If all three variables are kept constant, then the factor will not fluctuate. Apart from this, the only thing that will change factor is pipetting variation.

Yes sir you can. In such case, please use the factor derived from multical and do not use the standard/factor from the kit.

Dear Sir, you can refer to the Instructions for Use given in the kit by the manufacturer. In the IFU manufacturer mentioned calculations for calculating the concentration of Uric Acid using absorbance. Generally concentration is calculated by multiplying the absorbance of sample by the factor. Factor is calculated by dividing the concentration of standard by its absorbance.
