    You are totally incorrect in your statement that this is not about drugs and merely a poverty issue.
    Most homeless people on the streets are substance abusers, and/or suffer from mental health disorders.
    Additionally, the city has been hamsring with numerous court cases launched by activits to keep people on the street.
    Giving hand-outs is not a hand up!. There are numerous feeding schemes for the homeless, as well as shelters and Safe Spaces for them to reintegrate, but they refuse the social assistance provided. You are not helping these people by taking away their motivation to reintegrate by giving hand-outs.
    I can guarantee you that a lot of those handouts you bought will be bartered for cash in order to access drugs.
    I urge to to visit the homeless shelters and support them instead. They are really helping with professional and structured reintegration programs, unlike those incentivising these people to remain on the street and continue their downward spiral in life.
