Thank you so much for this 30 days of Photoshop tutorials. I have been struggling for two years to get myself to use photoshop, instead of just being satisfied with what I do in Lightroom. This is great, I am enjoying it, and now I finely see there is a future for me using Photoshop, instead of just getting frustrated with it. Thank you!

Using Photoshop CS6 and there's no content-aware feature for the crop tool dunno why, but I've come up with an alternative (Using selections and content-aware scale) that works pretty well. Thanks a lot for the excellent tutorial

What is often needed is a small expansion and fill of the image yet maintaining the required aspect ratio to allow for extra space for printing, matting and framing. You want to keep the detail of subject yet fill the expanded edges with the nondescript background. How?

Does anyone know how to scale down super large photos without making them lose quality? I’m designing Google ads and the photos I’m starting with are huge (about 6000 by 4000 pixels at 300 ppi). The Google ads I need to design are 250 by 250 pixels. However when I scale down the photos, they look blurry and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve tried Image>Image Size and then scaling the photo’s dimensions to 250 pixels on its shortest side. I also make sure to keep the resolution at 300 ppi. Nothing’s working and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I know it’s possible to scale down images crisply, because I’ve seen Google ads that look crisp and clear!

@@phlearn Thank you! I figured out how to get the photos to look right, but our brand’s logo still looked fuzzy. I tried scaling down the vector logo in Illustrator and placing a png of it in my photoshop doc, but it still looked bad. For whatever reason, it just doesn’t want to rasterize correctly, even when scaled down to the proper size before rasterizing. It’s a pretty detailed logo, but i just know there has to be a way to get it to look right.

Would anyone know why the 2020 version of PS CC does not reveal the crop tool grid overlay options? I can select them in the drop-down menu settings but they do not visually appear over the image. Additionally, the option to select "enable crop shield" in the settings (3:46 mark) is greyed out thus not possible. How does one resolve this in the preferences sub-menus.
