I just remembered Rory had a really awesome special on TH-cam where it was interspersed with trying to save a creator-owned comedy club/artist’s space. It’s worth a look up
@@mattduffyw99 first, thank you. This is a good clip. I love their banter. It’s also interesting to see how small that chair looks when Pete is sitting on it. No wonder he uses big furniture in his current podcast.
I've only ever seen a few clips of him but I watched his entire new special after hearing him on Maron and it was sooooo good one of the best specials i've ever seen he's a seriously talented stand up comedian
If you havent checked out his podcast, Pen Pals, with another comedian Daniel Van Kirk, you should. You will have two new best friends after a couple episodes.
His “grocery shopping while high” bit on Conan is one of the best bits of all time! And I just have a soft spot for his “day moon” act out on the Pete Holmes Show 😂
this dude is so funny i love his special thats all off the top of his head its here on youtube from 2021. i loved him before he came to my home city of minneapolis to record his special
I watch an unhealthy amount of comedy, have for years and Rory is my favorite comedian. Check out his old special "The Charleston Special" and "Rory Scovel tries stand up for the first time". The most naturally funny human alive. He also has a completely improvised special free on youtube called "Live without fear". GO RORY!!
I've watched his "Religion, Sex, and a Few Things in Between" special multiple times. Even though I know the punchlines coming up, they are so funny I still laugh.
Rory is THE best standup in the game imo. Him and Pete Holmes....who are also very good friends. They _both_ have excellent podcasts as well....tho who doesn't these days? But Rory is the most deeply naturally funny human being I've ever witnessed. Get into it!
I know him from podcasts but I was talking to a girl who worked at craft services on set and she was like I'm texting my friend Rory scovel right now. And I was like bro he's great I love pen pals!
Yeah, especially when he was standing in the pool trying to chat up the two women in deck chairs. So sensuous and tantalizing. 😒😆Or when he was all hot and bothered (and soaked) from chasing that man who didn't recycle. 🤣
Anyway…whatever…keep your balance. So Karl and I get to Moultonborough NH and he says, “This town looks like Bruge…a schitt hole. I didn’t grow up on a farm and I’m not retarded, so let’s go home to Greenwich Village.” So two days later Karl comes into Per Se and says, “So why is it that lost people sometimes develop into greater human beings than those who have never been lost in their whole lives? And why is it that people who have suffered at the hands of others are the natural believers in humanity, whilst those whose part has been simply to acquire, to take all and give nothing, are the most contemptuous of humanity?” And I say, look Karl…it’s like my mother said, ‘Never play cards with a man called Doc. Never eat at a place called Mom's. And never sleep with a woman whose troubles are worse than your own.‘ Actually, she didn’t say that, and you and I have just directly quoted Nelson Algren from his 1956 novel ‘A Walk on the Wild Side’, but hey…who gives a phuck, right? And he says, “It’s uncanny you know? I grew up in a southern port city, with its many different influences and cultures, and worked as a painter on a steamship but did not paint anything, fooled a prostitute who was trying to rob me, sold coffeepots and ‘beauty certificates’ which supposedly entitled the bearer to a treatment at a beauty shop whilst seducing the women to whom I was selling, and, in my most memorable escapade, worked in a condom factory. The condoms, which were called O-Daddies and bore interesting names and colours, were made in a house by a mom & pop firm, Velma and Rhino Gross.” (All from the plot of ‘Walk on the Wild Side.’ …..give me strength…but I love this guy like a panic attack.)
it's weird to think about Rory's kid being 8 years old already, when I clearly remember him coming on the Todd Glass show and positively begging for money to finance his wedding... so ungrateful, he never came back on the show. (tone indicator: affectionate, I love Rory Scovel, and Todd, don't @ me. Chicken Sandwiches.)
Everybody bump Seth up a notch on your comedy-meters, he has featured two of the best comics out there in a row; Kyle Kinane and Rory Scovel. Now do the Grawlix, Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, and Andrew Orvehdal. All five of which are featured in the brilliant but done-dirty-by-corpo Those Who Can’t! GET IT BACK ON STREAMING!!!!
Last night's"Closer Look" was good, but I'm still laughing at; "Trump would push all the buttions and fart in an elevator, say: have a nice ride loser" as the door closes....
Rory is hilarious, and a genuinely nice human. Congrats, Rory!!!!!
SUCH a brilliant comic & great human. Love Him.
I just remembered Rory had a really awesome special on TH-cam where it was interspersed with trying to save a creator-owned comedy club/artist’s space. It’s worth a look up
It’s called Live Without Fear. I typed about it 2 hours ago and now TH-cam has put it at the top of my feed. Ummm….all hail the mighty algorithm!
Go Rory!!! 😂😂. My favorite comedian right now!!?😂😂😂
Omg this is the funniest interview I have seen in a while.
Rory always crushes it. Here's one of my favorite throwbacks from Pete Holmes' show th-cam.com/video/u3JN5u7KH08/w-d-xo.html

I remember that special and comment. Sweet job buffoons!

Highly recommend his special on Netflix from 2016 as well, it's seriously one of my all time faves
@@mablaeI also enjoyed the special where he had no material and just made it up as he went. It’s called Live Without Fear and it’s on YT.
The special was the best. I love awkward, improv comedy. I’ve not laughed like that in a while. Thanks.
The tie in with your in-laws had me cackling.
Very rare for me to want to look up the person interviewed. But I really liked this guy! I'll check him out
His first special has me in tears almost the entire time. Also check out Randy Liedtke's "On a Roll".
@@disappointingdbdclips will do, thanks for the rec!

Rory on Conan was always absolutely hilarious
I was at the Minneapolis show! so good!
Great to see Rory again, had him as a instructor at WIT back when he was first dating Jordan. Looking forward to watching the special!
What’s WIT?
@@benmikola Washington Improv Theatre, Rory taught some classes there in the early aughts. I think that's where he and Jordan met.
@@andyjabez9780Wow that must have been a treat. I’d love to see him do some good old fashioned improv games. Thanks!

Dude, Rory is the best!
Rory is my favorite! 😂
Rory seems like such a genuine, likeable guy... hilarious too, of course... but hard not to root for someone like him.
Great interview!
Rory is a legend!
OMG so funny!! Great job, you made me laugh!
We love rory scovel and seth meyers
We’re still worried about this whole We thing
I mostly know him from the crowd at Tool concerts.
Nice
Good one
It's the laugh that gives his location away
Most underrated
most underrated standup hands down

I taught Rory in college. He never did the reading. Possibly he can't read? Luckily he can make me laugh.
😂😂😂

Rory was unexpectedly and arrestingly sensuous in Physical. 😮

It's not the guy who invented the hot pepper scale? Aw.
The LinkedIn comment😂😂😂
Following Rory on linkedin now
Funniest dude. I did standup at same place…not the Tonight Show. Been a huge fan ever since.
i know him from the “endless honeymoon podcast”
A comic who is legitimately funny, I approve.
I know him from Superstore
1:25 difficult to applaud with 1 hand, Rory 😅
The guy you've seen pop up in movies and shows in small parts for 20 years and always wondered how he hasn't given up and gone back to his hometown.
