your Life as an American

  • Being born in the "land of the free" isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In this satirical yet painfully realistic take, I dive into the struggles of living the so-called American dream. From student debt and insane healthcare costs to the obsession with work and social media, being an American comes with its unique set of challenges.
Let’s laugh, cry, and question what it truly means to grow up in the United States. This isn’t just a rant-it’s a reflection of what many of us face daily.

If you complain all the time, whatever country you live on, will be the worsed country in your mind. The fact that im a Filipino (Living in a poor country), while still enjoying life shows that happiness comes from mind and not always by whats around you, learn to appreciate things, you live in a 1st world country, take advantage of this!

I'd love to be in America. Europe is overcrowded and all living close to eachother. Atleast you guys got space, nature, and definitely a way to grow and earn big. If there's no opportunity in America, then where is it? USA Is the best, and you guys even have the right to protect yourself. WISH I LIVED THERE

You only have a right to defend yourself if the assailant already harmed you and most states the police are nearly completely unfunded and the courts are so completely pro defendant and incompetent that you can easily just get away with murder

Seriously it’s absurd you say this, there’s no opportunity here, at least not unless you’re already lucky, it’s all just luck of where you are and how rich your family is. It’s disgusting that someone has mislead you into not understanding how naive the idea of “making it big” is, especially in America of all places. It would be easier to make it big elsewhere then come here after you’re rich.

    Im in the woods
    Not born in Haiti
So no complaints anywhere near relative to the billions living in utter squalor have
Even our homeless are a wee priveleged and blessed thanks to usually functional infrastructure. Generally a top of the line 2nd World life minimum here

I am an immigrant and I think USA is great! The things I found strange here is that you barely see people walk around on the sidewalks(unless it is a big city). The life is really circling around the work. People seem to not make time for themself to be involved or socialize in the communities so much as other countries. The insurance seems to not cover anything especially the medical insurance. I fell like everyone makes good money, but some people spent it all each month no matter how much money they make. They have a lifestyle that is not suited for their income. And yes, I am in my mid 20's and live with my family. I don't get why I would want to be independent at a critical moment in life when you can save some money and enjoy the most time with your parents.

I was not born in the US. Thankfully, I am now a proud American Citizen. Inargueably, lots of things are broken in the US, healthcare being one, BUT, try living in another country for 6 months and then come back to the US and complain. You won't belive me.
