Bacon is awesome, but it's mixed with too many things. I used to think it belonged on everything, but if you stop eating it for a while, you'll notice it generally overwhelms things like the flavor of beef on a burger or this pastrami, which should really stand on their own. Same with using tons of sauce...sauces can obviously be great, but like good brisket, it shouldn't need it.
I live in Australia and I love and hate that I have found this page cause it look incredible but we don’t have a lot of this sort of stuff we only have subway really which isn’t good
Yeah I’m in Bucks County PA and the JMs around here stopped selling the pastrami more than a week ago. They were advertised as a limited time thing so I just assumed it was over. Hopefully it’ll come back!
Just curious if pickles are commonly put on sandwiches in your area. I see them going on your sandwiches fairly often, so I assume it's a regional thing. It would be unusual (but not unheard of) for them to be added to sandwiches where I live. Other than the pickles, this looked delicious!
Welllll, yes and no. I personally love pickles and JM pickles are so dang good so I put them on a lot of stuff. Not only for that salty, vinegary taste but also for crunch. I’m big on texture
The pickles and sweet peppers are a great touch, the chipotle over mustard choice is questionable, the bacon is an outright mistake, overall though, great looking sub.
the pastrami is pre slow-cooked so all that has to get done is it has to get reheated and the cheese melted when someone orders the sandwich. although you are right and if butter was used it would probably taste better, the difference is very marginal and butter costs money, so from a business standpoint they will just keep doing as they are
I can’t add oil unless they ask. Each me u item has a calorie count to it so if I added 2T of oil that would increase that by like 200 calories. If it were me I’d be mad if extra calories were added if I’m watching my intake
@stephenr85 they always cut the meats and cheese in front of me. They're not skimpy like subway. They use store bought processed Oscar Meyer bullshit. That's one of the reasons why Subway is so bad.
@@RojoCube definitely. I didn't mean they cut corners and skimp - just that it's more cost effective for any deli to buy the loafs and slice it themselves. But also...why did you ask?
Did they take that off the menu?! I tried to order it yesterday and was told they don’t have that anymore. This is at two different NYC locations. As you can tell I was desperate😩😂
Is Jersey Mike's as a whole bringing back pastrami for longer or has its run stopped? I checked on the website to see and the page was a 404 and I saw no other signs of it, so I figured time ran out. Definitely would like to try it
Especially with the chipotle. Any sandwich can use oil and vinegar without violating the "shouldn't NEED sauce" rule, and mayo is just a oil amd vinegar emulsion, but the chipotle mayo is going to muttle the pastrami flavor big time. Same with the bacon.
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes As someone from the heart of the Reuben, Omaha, I must disagree. Corned beef is generally much milder than pastram. This leaves more room in the sandwich for other flavors. Pastram, with her much stronger peppery, salty flavor is best complimented by items that mitigate that strong flavor, like lettuce and tomato. Or if you’re a real pastram fiend, maybe some brown mustard. IMHO.
@@hemaccabe4292 pastrami is a different cut of meat and seasoned very differently. They have very different flavors, and good pastrami shouldn't need it. Definitely shouldn't equate the two, but pastrami is better almost everywhere corned beef goes...
every carry out place other than subway, STOP being stingy with the meat! without me asking for extra meat. If i wanted Subway with to no meat sandwiches! than i would go to the no meat Subway!!! Yawl are no different, maybe one slice more.

I was today years old when I found out JM has pastrami on their menu.
That looks amazing 🔥
It was!
Looks amazing !
This should be available all the time at Jersey Mikes why a limited time only 😢
I agree!!
Looks so good

This really is a crazy sub, guy
That’s Looks great 😎
It was so good!
Raw Onions and Bacon - Chef's Kiss!!
It's ironic that you would post this today; all the JM's around here are out of Pastrami! And I can almost taste it! Rock on!
Dang! We ran out for a bit, but we just got some back in
Yeah I’m in Bucks County PA and the JMs around here stopped selling the pastrami more than a week ago. They were advertised as a limited time thing so I just assumed it was over. Hopefully it’ll come back!
I wish they hadn't cancelled ours after only a week, i tried it once and it was so good
When this guy says ultimate anything, I pay attention!
I don't think our Jersey Mike's sell pastrami! Oh i must find out!!😊
It’s a limited time item so see if they haven’t run out yet! It’s been flying off the shelves
Never got to try the pastrami because the stores out here ran out.
Like seeing it on the grill, but that bun needs some toasting too.
A sandwich is preference dependent one can not ruin a sandwich but only make it their own for me is not always for thee

Well technically pickles always come with a pastrami sandwich.

@@ThatCrazySubGuy I love pickles on burgers, tuna sandwiches, and just to snack on, but for some reason I don't like them on other sandwiches.
I find most recent pastrams I've run into too salty, I counter by adding lettuce and tomatoes.
The pickles and sweet peppers are a great touch, the chipotle over mustard choice is questionable, the bacon is an outright mistake, overall though, great looking sub.
That looks deadly
If you really want to level up the flavor I'd recommend using butter to cook the ingredients. Not margarine or even cooking oil.

@Moosejawkane but he doesn't even put oil down to properly cook the onions.

@@ThatCrazySubGuy Lucky me I count how many items I want lol.
Do you slice the pastrami? Or does it come sliced?
He used a slicer for the swiss cheese. I would think they save costs by buying all of their meats and cheeses in bulk and slicing it themselves.

PICKLES!!!!!!
Should add the price tag. Food at jersey mikes is way too expensive
Enjoy subway then…save $5 but tastes like ass😂

It was a limited time thing and it was so popular that a lot of stores ran out, but we just got it back after they restocked
Our store said pastrami was discounted. I went to finally get one and they said no more. They lied I guess. Just they don’t have it
I'll take one to go no pickles pls 😊
No pickles???? Ahhhhh whyyyy lol
I love mayo, but good pastrami shouldn't need it?

Wait a minute, you sliced the cheese and then the meat magically appeared? It is sliced fresh?
We slice it in the morning and since we have to weigh each portion we have to do it beforehand
I hate when sub shops drown the sandwich in sauce like he did. Way to much IMO
If this is JM this is $18-$19
Why use salt
Pastrami belongs on rye with mustard. This is overkill.
Guys just need more meat don't mine paying for a good sandwich
Actually the pastrami sandwich STINKS
I like Jersey Mikes but the Pastrami pretty bland.
You ruined that sandwich with the cheese

Nah those pickles are worse.

Absolutely NOT. This person has no idea about what makes a good pastrami sandwich. It sounds and looks awful
