Here is an Fl tip that all Fl studio gang use: make the entire beat in one pattern, when u done, right click on the pattern, scroll down and select split by channels. Then all instrumentals will be put in each separate patterns.

Tip for FL: when you go to arrange, if you right click a pattern in the list on the left, you can split by channel. this makes separate patterns for each sound/instrument/sample you used so you can arrange easily and not have to do make unique and turn things off etc!

I'd disagree with the 2nd Sentence.
Of course, every DAW can be capable of doing somewhat similar things, but each DAW has their own strengths and weaknesses.
If one could be using another DAW (x) which suits one's needs then they would be wasting time on another DAW (y) which gives sub-par features in a field that is just better in the other DAW (x).
Eg. I switched from S1 to Bitwig because Sound Design is such an important part of my music, and BW helps to make things work faster for me..
Ofc I could probably design some sounds in S1 but some patches would take 6-7 times the amount of work and time that I would invest in making the same patch in BW.
Some patches I just wouldn't be able to make, because S1 doesn't have the features to do so.
Conclusion: It really does matter what DAW you use, and exploration is vital to be able to be a better producer.

Mate, I've been on ABleton and FL, and there's something about Ableton that makes its sound way more immersive than FL studio. I know that there's loades of peeps who've been saying all daws sound the same but it's just not true. I use the same plugins and vsts, and ableton sounds fuller. SO yeh, your sound will change in Ableton.

@@hjkhhjkh3635 Next time you gonna use FL, don't forget to turn off your limiter on master.
There is a fair amount of distortion when using automation in Ableton compared to clean automations in FL according to one research I found recently, but tbh I still don't think you get fuller sound because of it. You probably don't make music using VST's only so Ableton's audio processing might be just better, you have Glue Compressor, EQ has it's quite pleasant algorithms, also keep in mind how audio warping is different - that would be the biggest detail I identify when production is made in Ableton.

But in terms of beatmaking FL Studio is really the gold standard. The drum sequencer, piano roll workflow, sample editing etc. are outstanding. I don‘t know the reason but the same 808 hits different in FL compared to S1. Moreover, 99 % of all the type beats tutorials, cookups, etc. are shown with FL Studio, so you can learn all the tricks and perfectly rebuild the beats.

@@nephteray303 I had great experiences with Propellerheads software as well. They are no long Props anymore tho, they are "reason studios", hence the logo change and ever since they have been awful as a company. The new owners are dishonest and out of touch. They straight up lied about VST3 support last september so everyone would upgrade(for $199!!), it's now June and they haven't even given us a date. They initially said it would be January of this year! They just string people along and don't deliver on their word. They've completely abandoned the DAW and don't listen to anything their long time customers say. They have become a plugin. They won't say it but their actions clearly prove this. It's sad but this is the reality. User for almost 20 years, thousands of dollars spent, thousands of hours spent learning the software but it is a sinking ship. Even the most die hard fans are finally admitting this.

I wouldn't recommend this for making Drill & Trap music, especially when producers want to be able to use different notes for Hi Hat rolls for example or different notes for snare hits. In a drum rack you can't have a drum sample really go to different pitches. Its better to separate everything into separate channels otherwise you get pretty limited making drill music.
