I want to remind everyone that my videos are for educational purposes only. Of course, everyone is welcome to watch, but the information I present is most useful for junior doctors, nurses, and students. As I stated in the description of every video and on my channel homepage, none of this is medical advice for patients. I don't practice medicine over the internet. If you are a patient and have any questions about your health, please get in touch with your doctor.

Very important - in all my research, as a lay-person, nobody’s pointed out the headache is a big symptom, or not, the difference between these two. So, I had meningitis, is most likely, a burning, furling headache, debilitating, and took days nearly a week. But, it was the intense pain that was debilitating, to the point of nausea, it was not causing motor problems etc of itself. Here in the UK at the moment, 2024, on the cusp of an election, our health service is crippled, and a common response to what I say, is nothing - because they only let us see a doctor in certain conditions, we’re usually seeing a less-knowledgeable practice nurse etc. Thanks for this, take care everyone.

Back in 1951 at the age of 4 I contacted a disease that was thought to be polio but I suspect it was M or E. Painful neck and stiffened legs and high temperature. I recovered but it took me several weeks to learn to walk again. Several years later it was found that I had a hearing loss in both ears that involved the sensory receptors/nerves in the inner ears. I believe Polio can not cause such damage but that M and/or E can cause that as well as cause a propensity toward depression which I have experienced since child hood/teenager. Please provide info about long term effects of these diseases. Thank you, Sincerely Phil Paige

How about you reflect on your life choices and make the changes to avoid getting it? Doctors literally work overtime to do anything to try saving people and others men waste their free time screwing around and contractin and spreadin ish. Generally speaking of course. My daughter has been suffering from this virus encephalitis and it has affected her speech, mobility, memory, it has affected her overall health and for the past 4years she has been at home. I really need help. Doctors here in the UK are saying they can't do much. They can only stop her from having more seizures.

Hi Gracie, I live in the UK. I got viral encephalitis in 2020. I got the treatment quite late and I am left with all of the issues that you mention. I use technology to try and help navigate life. The encephalitis society have also been really helpful. Good luck.

What do you mean? It is extremely dangerous! The point is that it can begin with deceptively subtle symptoms.

@@clinicaltips8926May I ask what your opinion is if someone told you that a baby contracted encephalitis by being outside in the winter in the cold on a bike (in the back) without a head warming cover? What do you honestly believe is more likely how the baby contracted it? I really respect and appreciate all your amazing detailed videos 🙏
