Camtasia Rev is the latest update to Camtasia 2023. This is a really interesting update because it makes the process of creating videos much easier. With Camtasia Rev, You can create really creative videos with hardly any work, Rev does all the work for you. This is the first AR update for Camtasia and in this video, I take you through some of the key features of Camtasia Rev. You will see that it really helps the creative process and saves you lots of time
All you need to do is turn on Camtasia Rev, and then record a video and let Camtasia Rev do all the work for you. It will try to organise your video in an interesting way by putting interesting backgrounds in it. If you record for example, with a webcam it will offer you lots of different ways that you are presented in the video. You can place the webcam in front of your screen, to the side, top or bottom with lots of diffeent effects. You can choose different backgrounds, you can choose different filters.
The great thing is Camtasia Rev does all the work for you. Now if you do several recordings and use Camtasia Rev each time, you're going to have a complete video produced with really interesting backgrounds, filters, colours, etc. I'm really impressed with Camtasia Rev and I've already started using it in my production. Don't forget of course that you can still edit your videos after using Camtasia Rev. It's just simply that it helps with the process.

Thank you for another great video, Russell. I actually stopped using Camtasia Rev a few months ago as it seemed to really slow down the export process. It appeared that a video that would normally take five minutes would take around thirty minutes when I have the Rev feature on. I actually created a video, which I sent to Camtasia support on the subject. However, as I was watching your video, I was experimenting on another screen and I really like the idea of being able to take away the background on the WebCam track. That really is quite a useful feature, so maybe I need to try again with Camtasia Rev. I appreciate that things are continually changing and improving.
I only use REV for the opening video. I don't use it all the time.

Hey Russell - I've done this and exported a picture in picture video for TH-cam, but now I want to go back and make one in TikTok & Instagram. There's a choice in Rev to pick the aspect ratio before sending it to Camtasia to edit - can I go back in the same project and redo this, or do I have to grab the project file in a new project and start the process over?
You can go back to the same project in Rev, change the aspect ratio, and then export it again to Camtasia for editing without starting a new project

Do you know how to turn *off* Camtasia Rev? I don't want ANY of the things it is automatically adding.
Certainly! To turn off Camtasia Rev, go to the "Add Captions" tab, select "Settings," and disable the "Automatically add captions" option.
Hey Russel, sweet video. The Size tab wasn't available because you were recording with a project that already had media on the timeline. If it was a new project, or you didn't have anything on the timeline then the Size tab would have been available. For now, Camtasia doesn't want to change the project dimensions because it doesn't want to make any assumptions about manual changes you've made with existing media.

@BrooksAndrus do you know if it allows you to change the layout format if you wanted say a portrait and landscape video?
@@DAPShow If you are starting with a brand new recording, you can change the size between "recorded size, wide, vertical, and square" while in the Rev experience. Each of those sizes has it's own set of layouts to choose from.
What exactly is the AI element of Camtasia Rev? Is it learning from your behaviours, or your prefences?
'Camtasia Rev,' enhances video editing by automating tasks like captioning and voice-to-text transcription. It doesn't learn from behaviors or preferences but uses AI algorithms for efficiency.
The "AI" buzzwords seems tor really thrown in as a sales thing.
Is it possible to make the half of the video in layout x and the the other half in layout y? I mean, what if I want to switch between layouts during the editing?
yes..each time you record your can edit..so settings can be changed foe every video. I do this sometimes

$212 for a discounted*(?)education version? Are you outta your mind? *Way* too expensive for adjunct professors. Not worth it.
David I don't work for Techsmith. I just like their tools. It is the top end Screen Capture tool and I do recommend several other cheaper tools on my channel including ScreenPal which is free and Movavi which is about 50 dollars a year.
with all due respect, but Camtasia Rev is really dumbing down the tool. This seems to be the new standard, even for experienced video creators like myself. How dare these guys forcing me to delete their stupid rainbow background now everytime I record a video? What is this? Video Kindergarden? I hate this update and that it forces me through additional steps. Good for the unexperienced, but forgetting about long standing (and paying!!!) customers. Shame on TechSmith for this stupid update.
