it has more torque ;) 3.0 vs 2.5 + dp and opf removal so it`s faster. Probably better tires too.

The RS3 jumped the line on every rolling race..LOL. I can tell you that the M240 didn't use launch control the first drag race. It's only available after the car has been driven 6 miles and every time you turn off the car it resets again, it's actually a pain to launch sometimes (typical BMW and where Audi has the advantage). You can clearly tell he's not using launch control the 1st time as the car will "sit" down on the rear axle and take off like a rocket. His "it's not launching" comment is accurate and the RS3 did use launch control that time and barely won by inches. The 2nd drag race Nathan finally used launch control which is why he took off so quick and beat the RS3 easily. The 3rd drag race Nathan fell asleep and didn't launch on time, but still managed to catch the RS3. I think some people discount just how good the M performance cars are, that B58 is a torque monster and is in fact an M engine built by M GmbH... even on track it's right there with the RS3, not far off and IMO the best car you can get for the money. I know people that paid 10-15k over an already inflated MSRP for the RS3 which is just ridiculous. I do think that if the RS3 had better tires that would've made it a better match, you can't compare crappy Bridgestones to Mich PS4s. Why on earth would Audi put those on an RS car OEM I'll never understand. Either car is a beast and great video!
That piggyback on the RS3 doesn’t compare with a JB4. I wonder if the 8V RS3 FL JB4 would work on the 8Y. Would’ve made for a better race for sure

0-100 100-200 and 1/4 mile times , that's the best way of judging a car. Those roll races had a few questionable starts! Hats off the bmw for being £20,000 cheaper!

Kind of pissed they used plastic AN fittings on my A4 b9 cooling system. Water pumps for the engine and trans, overflow tank, and radiator connections snapped from a pot hole.
Poured coolant all over my engine bay.
They also have the overflow tank where the coolant pissed from right next to the fuse box, ecu, edc control unit, and my electric rack.
Pretty sure it’s all fried. Cars been in the shop for 2 months.

In my opinion this race is a clean sweep for the BMW.Just lack of driver/car experience from the M240i owner.If Jamie did the race with the M240i it would have been another story the car is faster even on the vbox and on the races.

Every race rs3 driver presses the acceleration before the white line(roll races), is a fact :) the bmw car is a bit faster then the rs3 , the bmw driver a bit slow on reaction time on drag that's all, still great race.
On the roll race i feel like Ben knew what he was doing, he was comming up behind and was on the throttle as he hit the line. The 240i always seemed to be coasting to let ben "match" his speed.
Is anyone gonna mention the Audi jumping the roll races? 😆

@@marvinmeyer8639 It could be that the m240i has a wider torque span. The stock m240i has 500nm and only 374hp whereas the RS3 has 480nm and 400hp.

Wow I m impressed by the m240i being 115kg heavier and a bit less hp and torque than the full blown rs3 and it s bit quicker. B58 torque and power curve is impressive
The OPF delete is a big advantage for m240i, it also has the small air intercooler, which is not good enough even for stock car, the water cooler in m240i does its job. Also the rs3 didn't load full boost on drag races. Too short on Launch Control procedure before start. Overall the m performance car can really handle the RS model.
The OG battle is pure organic petrol head content where similarly matched fast cars are placed on a race track for a pound for Pound racing in a very safe environment. Jamie your work ethics is stupendous, your production is leading in this genre. Thanks Jamie and keep up the good content.

rs3 needs a dp and opf removal too like m240 ;) then it will have more torque. Probably rs3 needs better tires. M2 won`t be faster from a dig than 240 or rs3, maybe on dragstrip. M2 will be rwd only.

On the roll the M240i has a delay before it goes, he needs to jump on the pedal a second earlier to make it even.
It's not a single fucking delay, it's the other driver of the rs3 accelerating earlier ffs

RS3 is cheating in the roll. He stays behind and pushes the throttle earlier than Bmw. Although they are even while crossing the throttle line RS3 takes advantage of the early acceleration.
Better reaction from the driver. If Ben was in bmw m240i he would take the rolling and I also think ben should also get opf removed and install aftermarket exhaust and better tyre that would be interesting 🤔 as I seen rs3 usually pull harder with better tyre and exhaust opf removed.

For me its quite clear m240i is quicker. Driver of m240i needs more race practice to ace reaction by drag line because rs3 driver always getting jump on him and after that roll begins you can clearly see m240i pulling on rs3, so a well timed pull by m240i on drag line should see it win in my opinion! The Audi has a bad set-up(waste tuning box). 100-200 8.8 seconds only. My Rs3 8v 460HP and 630nm does this in 7.9 seconds.

The fact that the BMW is aimed towards the S3 and A35, both would be obliterated by the bimmer, once the M2 hits its game over for the expensive Volkswagen and Mercs accordingly

Its not all about power. Bmw might have a better curve on the hp. Audi got it maybe in a smaller window. I think bmw has a better all over power from 1000-7500 rpm than the audi. Bmw is insane since this is not an m car vs rs car

The m240i objectively won the drag race and was so close in the drag. The m240 is best bang per buck on the category for sure.
The audi was extremly heat soaked. In the first race it was even and after that the audi just got slower
Drag Race:
You can really see how that RS3 got heat soaked badly.
It got slower with every race. First Race was dead even.
Roll Race:
First Run - BMW starts later in wrong gear.
Second run - Audi starts earlier again but is heat soaked and loses on top end.
Third run - BMW fights with turbo lag on start, Audi heat soakes badly again but BMW can’t make up enough space.

Back in late 2016 when I got my m140i driving it first day it was obvious the B58 was special, so glad I cancelled my 120d that I had on order lol.

If they really wanted to know whose faster they'd just rely on solo trials and go to the numbers. Too much human error in almost every instance. Obviously made for a more compelling experience. I think the results in the end would be close either way. RS3 "should" win?
