When an ad comes on and I'm throwing I just accept that there's going to be slip on my screen and skip it. 🤣

Gotta say, that was the jazziest version of "This Little Light of Mine" that I've ever heard. Love it! Thanks for another informative video. I love watching the process.

Straightening a cylinder with a flat rib allows one to expand a spiral using slip or rib strokes or waves and flutes using spring wire cuts

Hahahahaha!!! I love your humour! But I felt very dissappointed as well, because I need to learn to get over all mentioned hurdles.... Oh, well... But thanks for letting me laugh alone in my living room. 😂I did subscribed in hope of more laughs, eh, and in hope of some huge pottery revelations as well, I need them! Cheers!

Why would anyone dislike one of your videos. I've been a part time pastime potter for 20 years and you are constantly teaching me something new and better. I love your videos but like everyone else, I dislike the commercial breaks that interrupt my thought process.

I never got into drinking too much because I learned at an early age that I didn't have to be drunk to make a fool of myself.
Enjoyed the video and hope you keep chuckling.

Haha Matt, that was an `amazing intro` and really brought some smiles to my face [unusual nowadays]. As one who lives on supplements that part you mentioned about adds was really quite personal to me, and had me in stitches. Well done for your originality Matt. But it's long been known to me of your originality :) I hope you'll be making some of those amazing "platter bowls" for your next wood firing.
You mentioned about your 3lb balls of clay! Did I understand correctly that 1" = 1lb out of your pug? That's a pretty tall cylinder out of 3lbs! wow.
Strange how things can change and "maybe" we have to prepare for things that may change in our lives.
Eg: Not SO long ago I made pots everyday and only found time to watch a few pottery videos on youtube.
Now that has reversed :( Now I can't make much at all through bad health! So I make only a few pots but watch HUNDREDS OF pottery videos! LOL.
Anyway after watching you throw the 3lb jugs I can now throw similar ones myself {In my dreams] LOL

I love watching and learning with you Matthew! Would love to know what that rib is you're using. I have searched high and low for a nice metal rib with only a slight flex but only seem to find the thin, flimsy metal ribs or the stiff ones with zero flex.

Love the videos! I’m learning a lot. What kind of clay do you throw with generally? I did ceramics in high school and my wife and I just started a class at a local pottery studio so it’s been nice to be throwing again but I’m finding that I have the same issues I had in high school! Trying to learn how to throw larger pieces because I already have a ton of small pieces 😂

I don't fall for them ones. But this one I really, really, really want. My doubts were kicking in, the biggest being this is not the Matthew Kelly I had gotten to know. Then the twist thanks for not disapointing. Some fun and qickly down to work.

Nice work.Itwould it be possible to give some dimensions of the piece as your throwing and then the. fini prodoct? Maybe hold a yardstick up to it as you progress?

Thank you for blabbering on. Talent, tools and time, right? One of my old instructors--not for pottery, but this applies to everything--said this: Success comes from experience. Experience comes from failure. All that to say, talent and tools are what you have, and time is what you give.
