    Thanks man, my altima positive terminal was basically welded to the fuse link and wasn't going to come off so decided to replace both. I was needing to see how the wiring harness was detached and yours was the only vid that had that information.

    Can u replace the clear fuse that’s closest to the battery terminal? What’s the point of the four links the wires connect into if there is a fuse on the top?

Cleaning all the power connectors and going to have my battery checked at auto zone, it's new but still have them check it. If it blows again, there might be a 08 max up for a part out. On my husbands 2006 maxima, this fuse keeps blowing. It first blew this main fuse (the fusible link on the positive battery terminal) like maybe 6 months ago so we replaced it, no problem. Then about 3 months ago, it blew again so we got it replaced again. Obviously the car dies everytime this happens.
    Then last week, I was trying to get an appt with firestone auto repair because the temperature gauge had been going above the middle and we had to put coolant in it multiple times over the next few days. We thought that the coolant replacement would at least hold it over until our appt at firestone (realizing that there must be a leak obviously and thought that must be what is causing the car to overheat). Then last week on a really hot day, I got stuck on a bridge because the bridge was up and the temp was going up and up and I got so nervous because I couldn't go anywhere so I just turned my car off. Then when the bridge went back down, I tried to start the car and IT WAS DEAD. ON A 1 WAY BRIDGE. WITH 10 CARS STUCK BEHIND ME AND 2 KIDS IN MY CAR 😭. Eventually some men helped me push the car off the bridge, into the city. I realized that it was acting exactly how it did before when that 120 amp fuse was blown. So I checked it and yup it was blown. My husband got there from work and replaced the fusible link terminal piece, topped off the coolant and at that point we were going straight to firestone (3 miles away) for them to get to it when they could. Literally 5 mins into driving, the heat started going up and up and before I could pull over, the car died in the damn freeway. Fuse blown AGAINNN. I gave up and had it towed the rest of the way.
    Firestone said they have no idea what it is and told me just to buy a new car. I'm not about to just throw in the towel without at least being mostly sure that the car is a goner. The engine was rebuilt 3 years ago, the alternator is maybe like 6 months old and it's paid off so if you have any helpful info, I'd super appreciate it!

      @Abu5ed_VQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Greetings, It does sound like the water pump. But I'm not sure what may be causing your fusible link to keep blowing. That sounds like a bad ground or a short somewhere.

    • @SavageThrifter
      @SavageThrifter 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Abu5ed_VQ I've been researching literally all night and I've come to believe that it may be one or both of these things: AC compressor or like a bearing or whatever (causing a ticking sound for a while now) and the a/c and heat haven't worked in quite some time. I honestly had no idea that the ac or heat not blowing at all could actually indicate problems which will eventually affect the engine. I just thought "who needs heat or ac, i guess 🤷‍♀️ haha 🤦‍♀️"
      I saw this mechanic on TH-cam who was replacing that exact same main fuse (120 amp) on the fusible link positive battery terminal because it kept blowing (my same issue!) and it ended up being caused by a locked up ac compressor. He said that he's seen problems with the ac compressor cause the main fuse to blow on many cars (best lead I have to go on for that at least haha). I had already seen lots of other information pointing to the ac compressor so it just seems like a strong possibility.
      And then I saw the video of your car that was doing the same thing right before it died and it was exactly what my car did before it died, the temperature gauge started going up and the car started doing that weird rpm jumping/falling/ stalling type thing. So that's what points me to the water pump.
      It would be great if it were just one of these but I can't imagine that the repeatedly blowing fuse, the car overheating, the a/c and heat not working and the ticking sound could all be caused by just one thing.
      Basically I just want a few strong leads to bring to the mechanic and ask if they could be the cause. The only thing the technician at firestone said was "it sounds like there is a midget with a hammer under the hood which tells me that it is definitely serious internal damage". As far as I understand, there are a lottt of possible causes for that rattle, many of which would be much cheaper to fix than just buying a new car 🤷‍♀️.
      I love trouble shooting car issues and working on the car with my husband but as far as I understand, these are expensive parts to just start replacing for no reason if they aren't it.

      O.G.Nat-tral1 if I had to guess it was bc of my cold intake. I week before we had a crazyyyy rain storm. I soaked up so much water the car wet into limp mode. A day later everything was good. A week later I started hearing this knocking noise. I’m thinking bad gas or low oil. I dropped everything and I still had the noise. 5 min after I took my son to school 🧨 💥 car just cut off. I looked behind me and I had a trail of oil. My heart dropped.
      Bro I had the 07 bumper with fog lights
      07 hood
      07 xenon headlight
      2014 maxima 19’s limited edition rims
      07 truck with brake light
      New axels
      I change the Interior to all black
      Double din
      🤦🏾‍♂️ I’m in so much pain
      And if you everrrrrrr move out of NY and buy a big house in the south make sure you don’t have an HOA bc them bitches will label a car abandoned just for sitting in your drive way 🤦🏾‍♂️.
