As an old man who is a native of Des Moines and have cousins who played Iowa high school BB back in the 1960's when one women's BB game consisted of 2 not very exciting simultaneous half-court games of offense and defense, I can really appreciate the amazing CC who has fantastically spiced up the game. (I would also like to pay a little tribute to my late uncle who was a women's Iowa high school BB coach back in the 1950's.) CC is really fun to watch with her amazing skills and love of the game. In a speech by the motivational speaker and Olympian Bob Richards, he said achievements like CC's require 10,000 hours of dedicated work and practice. She really developed her natural talent.

I went to Auburn, and when I was there the women's team were 2nd in the NCAA 4 out of 5 years. I played pickup with them women a lot, and I have good skills. I am a 6'4" guy (played DIII basketball), and on Auburn women's team I could have started at shooting guard or small forward. I would've gotten CRUSHED inside, as center or power forward, as I am WAY too small. Even though their team was great, they had NO ONE who was even close in ability to Caitlin...NOWHERE close.
She moves smoothly and effortlessly with the ball, and has the vision and passing ability like an NFL quarterback...AMAZING long-ball passes. Her long-distance shooting skills were WAY better than most guys playing college basketball. The only guy I saw in person/played against (pickup) who could shoot more long distance, easily, was Chuck Person.
She could've started at shooting guard in the vast majority of guy's teams in today's college basketball (counting ALL the 4 year colleges, not just DI). She would be too slow to play point guard, and too small for small forward, but her shooting and passing is the key for the shooting guard position.
We used to watch SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), who was DIII. They had a girl as backup point guard, as they had no women's team (brand new school). Caitlin could've started at point guard, shooting guard or small forward for them, and they would've won a ton more games. When I played DIII, we played at GA Tech and lost by 4...we led almost the whole game. If Caitlin played for us, as shooting guard, we would have won, EASILY, if we had a three point line.
Two of my grandparents were from Iowa (my parents went to Iowa State), and my Michigan grandparent went to Iowa, where his uncle was Professor of Physics at Iowa. He did field events for Iowa Track and Field and qualified for the US Olympic Trials, but didn't have the money to get there by train, so couldn't go. I also used to know the Iowa VB coach. Good to see Iowa showcased on the national scene...

If social media published the hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades that she has spent working to improve her skills they would have a true story to tell. Her intensity and untiring effort are a result of conditioning over time. She appears to have the perfect family support throughout the years. Her shooting skill is but a small portion of the why she outshines all others. Attitude, conditioning, passing, dribbling and game awareness all play a part of Caitlin Clark.

FALSE: First, MANY two parent families have TERRIBLE kids. AND, it sometimes has NOTHING to do with the parents. Second, some families with one parent do a GREAT job of parenting, and have great kids...even with NO parents...some families and kids do great. THIRD: The nuclear family (two parents in a home, in modern society), was a TERRIBLE idea, and it has wasted the talents of so many of Our Kids. Tribal/village living, like we ALL used to do, is WAY more efficient than two-parent families. In traditional living, ALL the kids in the village, had MULTIPLE parents, and MULTIPLE supporting brothers and sisters, and adults, to help them reach their full potential.

@@atpcliff That's a fair statement, you say what you believe, I did not say there were not other options or the other options could not produce a well rounded person. Thanks for the input. Have a good day.
