Hey! Thank you for this video! I assigned the expression pedal of my RC300 to adjust the volume of the microphone in, but it just turns it on when down and off when up. It doesn't have the gradual effect you expect from a volume pedal. Do you have any idea why and what I can do to fix that? Thank you so much! 🙏
Hi Ben, I hope you are well. Do you know if it is possible to bind the vocal recording to the expression pedal. Essentially so I could sing through the pedal and be recording a bass loop at the same time, but not have the vocal loop. But then be able to use the expression pedal to turn back on the vocal recording so I could record vocal harmony loops? Thanks I can’t seem to figure this out for the life of me lol
Thanks. It's funny, as I have a multi effects unit with volume pedal inputting to the 300. And I noticed that the exp pedal wasn't doing anything. But I didn't think much about it as I already had volume on the other pedal. But, that is a good idea in my case, if I wanted to balance the loops to the effects box to get a better mix by having that volume on the 300 also handy. I need to dig in too and see all the other things it can control as you mentioned some.
Cheers for that dude! Say I wanted to add this expression pedal reassign to all of my 99 channels/phrases (i.e. so it's the default on my board)...Is there an easier way to set this up instead of going one by one? (God I hope so haha)

It is true that this expression pedal is not used enough!!! By the way, I saw the video using midi with the RC505. I was wondering how to set-up the RC-300 so I could use my Akai Advance 61 and record some loop with it. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!!!!
Very nice keyboard!! I’m right in thinking that it’s a midi keyboard right? Do you need to use it with a laptop... or does it work standalone with on board sounds? All the best, Ben

Hey! I have a question that's a bit off-topic for the video: Can you select memory locations without interruption a la ableton live scenes? Also is there a way to have constant tempo throughout all the memory locations? I have rc 50 and using it onstage just like that, but it has only 24 min for playbacks, it interrupts between patch change and most importantly TEMPO IS NOT CONTINOUS. i think I can live with memory switching sound interruption, but set tempo is really bad for band situation, especially if I have 1 song chopped up into 2/3 memory locations. It basically means instead of 8th note gap, 1-2 measure gap: 1. Stop current tracks 2. Change memory 3. Tap new tempo 4. Launch new memory RC 50 actually works as a midi slave!
Brilliant, Ben, re the master tracks volume via EXP1 pedal. You saved the day! Would you share your thoughts on 2 more topics? 1)gain staging in the RC300 for best headroom? Carl Wockner suggests recording at 100, and playback at 80. Your thoughts? I guess it is a redundant question, but at what (o’clock) position do you keep your master volume knob? 2) Now that I can use EXP1 to control the output of all the tracks, I’d also like to be able to switch EXP1 to internal effects. I’m a plugged-in fiddler, and nothing brings a fiddle to life like a simple delay. As a busker, too, I am trying to run everything on batteries, and minimize weight & bulk. If I could switch EXP1 betw/ delay depth & all loops playback volume, that would be amazing. Do you think I could assign an external footswitch to make the swap? Of course, I could drag along a separate and much better fx unit (drooling over hx stomp or eventide H9), but those add weight and need their own power supplies. Thx for any thoughts!
Hi. I did a factory reset and assigned LOOP FX pedal to cut 3 track's volume level. The light used to come on when i press it before the factory reset but now there is no light even when its on. Anybody knows why? Cheers
EEEK I messed something up. I successfully assigned the pedal to control the loop volume, but now when I create a loop and stop recording, the track is muted until I move the expression pedal. I need it to immediately play back. What did I do wrong? 😬

Lol never mind, I bypassed the problem. Bought an XLR A/B switch. (If anyone also needs this, I got the “Hot shot DM1”

For some reason mine won’t gradually quiet down. It simply cuts off completely :/
