I just started playing this game a month ago and it’s already my favorite game. Learning the game mechanics, communicating with my teammates, and the overall feel and intensity of this game are near perfect. This is the game I’ve been wanting for years. I know a lot of long term players and people from other games like Squad44 have major issues with this game, but as someone who’s come from Call of Duty and Battlefield, this is way better in terms of immersion, realism, and experience
My first game of this was a roller coaster of emotions. Between team mates screaming orders and artillery dropping on me, just as in real life I had no idea what to do.
It’s worth playing because it’s full of the friendliest, kindest and civil players I have ever met. Once you get the hang of the gameplay and classes, it’s a really fun game to play with a solid squad 😊
It's a fun game that still needs a lot of work. My biggest advice is if you plan to play, please communicate with your team and listen to your squad leader. Don't play if you don't have a mic. Another thing to remember is to not get frustrated about dying. It's part of the game. Focus on communicating with the team and following your SL order's to achieve victory.
I have no headset I play…..? That comment about the headset tbh was low key dumb Ngl I know a lot of good players who listen this game doesn’t require you to yap for 2 hours 😂😂😂
are there hitmarkers? is there something that tells you when you get a kill? (besides a killfeed) i don’t like shooters where i can’t tell if i’m hitting someone and especially if i’ve actually killed an enemy
My take on the game. (I have about 380 hours sunk into it playing cross play on PS5) Pros: - graphically it is quite nice. (There can be a lot of environmental clipping and a lot of rag-doll silliness happens.) - all the weapons feel and sound true to form. - They finally added Skirmish mode Cons: - EVERYTHING about the game is a grind. From slow class progression and leveling up to usually having to run a full KM just to reach the front line (and then getting shot in the back by a guy in a bush and praying your team has garrisons/OP’s) - Realism ≠ fun. Balancing issues are huge here. - The atmosphere. While it’s true the sounds of weapons and explosions go off all around…that is it though. It is the only military shooter game I can think of that doesn’t have soldiers talking/yelling/screaming etc. It’s just kind of eerily quiet when nothing is happening. - The community is NOT friendly. For every 1 friendly player, there are 10 angry players who will screech at you to do this or do that and if you don’t, they will try to kick you or just outright team kill you. - Frame rate: it’s especially bad on the Soviet maps. To the point where lobbies will clear out if a Soviet map boots up. (Looking at you Stalingrad) - Glitches and bugs. From spawning in and not being able to run/shoot/crouch to having to wait until the next round begins just to leave the lobby. The game is full of them. - Communication: again it’s one of those things where for every 1 game where you have a team that will actually communicate, you have to sit through 5 other games of silent lobbies or lobbies of people just arguing with each other/name calling etc. At best, I would say the game is a 6/10
Idk what kind of servers you’ve been playing in but this has not been my experience so far. Quite the opposite actually. First, why would you run all over the map rather than just redeploy and spawn at another spawn point? Also, people have been very helpful and the assholes have been few and far between. Take your ratio of 1 helpful person to 10 assholes and flip it and you have my experience so far. Also, it’s one of the MOST communicative games I’ve ever played and if your squad isn’t communicating just leave the squad and join a new one that actually talks. Idk, it just sounds like we’ve been playing two separate games here.

@ I think people just get jaded with games they are good at and have a shitload of hours in. That jadedness gives them an attitude and their attitudes rub off on others so they end up getting treated in that way. A vicious cycle. I’ve been there before with some other online games like Apex.

What I love most about this game? It’s not a speedy, health-bar shooter. It’s very reminiscent of the early Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon games, yet has the clunky control response of DayZ. Unless you’re using a mic, don’t use any role other than infantry or maybe machine gunner, so you don’t hurt your squad’s plans.
This game is the bast I have played, if you are sick of people not communicating join a comp team, just enjoy the game it is so fun, you will love this Game
I literally thought this was PC only game until early this year just scrolling through the PS store and saw it been hooked every since! Game had me so furious the first 3-4 weeks even deleted it just to redownload like 2 days later lmao learning curve is steep for new players all i can say is DO NOT RUN AROUND or run through open fields you will die repeatedly 😂😂
Yes, it's worth it. Played over 600hrs and it's still a great experience. Can't say that about most games. Of course there are issues. New players not understanding the game; old players not being understanding towards new players; and a new dev team that makes the old guard nervous. But I still think it is worth it

I haven’t played this game yet. Played about 100 hours on squad for pc and I was absolutely hooked and this sounds like a ww2 console version of squad. Hardest game I’ve ever played but almost my favorite shooter of all time. Can’t wait to play this after I FINALLY get a ps5
Not much is wrong with the game. It's mostly people. Who play: without a mic and pick squad lead, who play lone wolf and don't get much done, who team kill (and don't get kicked for doing so), who conversate in command chat like it's a chat room just to name a few. Skirmish mode is worthless and I'm tired of warfare. I play offensive only. I wish they would have a dedicated half hour for the enemy to build defense and then have the offensive team get perks like supplies aren't needed to set up the anti tank gun for example. I love building up defensive positions as much as I like trying to blow them up. It takes an awesome amount of discipline and coordination with a lot of communication and teamwork when the enemy has built and impressive fortress. I can't get enough.

I think so. I had it on PC and bought it on XBox recently after they finally added a server browser. I wish people would use a much more. There used to be a lot more chatter going on
People are hard to please. this game might not be for everyone. Personally I absolutely love this game. Since the moment i played it on counsel I’ve been hooked. The learning curve is steep so if you make the decision to buy the game be PATIENT.
Takes a while getting used to understanding the game. Its not easy at first. Use a mic best way to learn. Ask questions and if you squad leader is talking communication helps alot. All ive been praying for 3 years now
Squad 44 is much better in my opinion. Simply due to the realistic tank damage mechanics and other little realism differences. The graphics and character models in HLL look better than S44 though
It’s like when it’s good, it’s amazing, but when it’s bad, there’s just zero enjoyment to it. In my experience, there’s far more bad times than good. You spend way too much time running from spawn to the action and getting killed by people you can’t see. And the guns are horrendous

There are a lot of spawn campers (nonsense). Tank, sniper and arty gameplay ok.. The regular infantry.......... Trash. Gunplay is a joke. You hit everything from a long distance, it is very far from being realized. No bullet drops. It's all a joke. It is typically designed so that you don't have to "think" while aiming. This game is anything but realistic...
