It’s crazy how realistic this! I was one of those doofuses that would just add a displacement map and rgb split to my compositions, but this is a game changer. Just used this in my latest video and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Absolutely recommend 👍
TO ANYONE STRUGGLING TO RUN FFMPEG WITH LINUX/POWERSHELL: Please run this code before starting, I forgot to mention it in the video. (this code is only required for people running windows 10 version 1904 or later) Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux sorry for the 1.5 year patch lol
my version : filmora to have a video to 4:3, avidemux to decode video and decode noise reprocess (mpeg4 asp xvid4 for video (yv12 encoder for the noise reprocess), mp3 lame for audio, avi muxer to format), and finnaly avisynth, (i only downloaded vhs effect zip file) and look at me now! making gameplays with vhs effects
Nah bro, use the blender vhs effect made by BGVC. It's very realistic and could be used for analog horror videos or basically broadcast anomaly videos. Go try it out boi.
Hi I'm having trouble, I ran the code with powershell but the output video is in the ffmpeg folder but I can't play it for some reason? Oh and also I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but it says in the powershell text "No such filter 'eq' Errror opening filters." I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing
This VHS effect does work for me but I think the quality is way to low... If I'm doing a ARG with this effect and hiding secret codes and stuff no one would be able to see it
Both rarevison and true vhs have the benefits of being android apps so you drag and drop and you're done. However, true vhs is more for a realistic look while rarevision is almost more for stylistic purposes
Click on the grey area where the video is and click composition settings. Down below there will be numbers that look like 00:00:14:07 or something like that. You can change it to any length you want, but make sure to do it to each comp
yo what up, man. so the default video size 640×480, right. but i want to this effect on much bigger resulation video, like 1920×1440. i messed around on after effects but can't figure out much. please give some insight
everything you need for this tutorial MINUS the ubuntu installation, the XVid encoder and AVISynth is in the .RAR folder. extract the .RAR folder into any location and you'll be right to go!
hey there i cant find the INPUT.avi in the files you provided nvm but theres another problem theres an issue when putting the EFFECT.avs into virtualdub it says that the sample rate is different
It is possible by making 2 copies of the video, motion blurring one and setting the channel to colour then just by following the rest of the steps Could be wrong tho, don't use premiere that much
Unbelievable. Thank you so much for this. Thank you a million. I only wish to edit the .AVS file to a 860x480 composition, and unfortunately I'm unable to fix that. Do you think you might be able to help me out?
I am too late, but hope that this works. I think the problem is the resolution in the ffmpeg part. The 'scale' is set at 480:360. If you change that, that should be enough
Hello! When I use FFmpeg it butchers the quality of my input AVI file. I believe it must have something to do with my settings when I export from AE. I tried "Render Settings: Best Settings, Output Module: Lossless". Do you have a possible solution for this? (Example Link, screenshot from Post-FFmpeg video: file.garden/ZF30_yhvAk-Bo4nh/img-2023-07-24-23-01-13.png )
In the .txt file containing the code for ffmpeg, change the OUTPUT.AVI into OUTPUT.MP4, since making this video, ffmpeg has updated its codecs and has ruined the bitrate for .avi files with this code
I believe this is the same tutorial Kane pixels used for his backrooms series, the overlay is the exact same!
Kane uses a real vcr. Not any programs except some little stuff in After Effects.
@@VHSvince yeah, that’s what I do now too, it’s super authentic
@@GibbsonTV Same, really good.
I agree, this looks super similar to Kanes!
@@darkxage Ah hello there, you know its not :^)

Shit, that’s good.

have you seen this github.com/valadaptive/ntsc-rs
I'd recommend it over bgvc

hey there i cant find the INPUT.avi in the files you provided

you would be getting this error because your video is not the same fps as what the script wants. try rendering the video at around 30fps or so
can i do this with premiere pro tho
