Anti-Piracy [Minecraft/VHS Horror]

- Recorded Dec. 08. 2011:
Tape shows Minecraft's Anti-Piracy screen from an illegal copy, but it doesn't seem to end here. Something seems to let the player back in, tormenting them through the game as a distraction for i̸̜̔t̴̰͊ to pass through into the real world.

The only thing that creeps me out about minecraft is the intense silence sometimes , like something or someone is watching, stalking you.

I feel a little bit scared that time and I Quit Minecraft. 2020 15th May i was in nether then I hear All Cave sounds at Once And after few minutes My game got crash Then I delete that world And everything Becomes normal

I know this isn't real anti-piracy, but I love it when games do this. Instead of just ending abruptly they truly punish the pirate with a terrifying experience

5:44 For some reason when i played superflat as a kid i used to be scared of it, like something could just run from the rendering distance or turning around to find something behind u
Thats why you use 128 render distance
That makes total sense, especially with a low rendering distance. When you play in a world with normal terrain generation, there’s always something popping up, even outside of mobs - a hill, a lake, a mountain, a new biome, etc. So it makes total sense that you would subconsciously expect the same from a superflat world
Not everyone has a good computer blud 💀@@COBRAGUNNER7
As a fellow Minecraft found footage horror creator you perfectly captured what makes it creepy: preying on that wholesome nostalgia and the feelings of vulnerability that come with it. Great job!
I thought it kinda sucked. It doesn't make any sense at all. Why would the footage be on a VHS? Who would even record that, and the anti piracy part didn't make sense either considering the way the video continued. The cheap jump scare and the distorted face images are basic and overused tropes of analog horror, which again, has no place in a digital setting like Minecraft. It's a dumb assortment of tropes in my opinion.
@@Who-lj8mbyeah, this analog trope is getting so old to the point it isnt even scary anymore
@@Who-lj8mbyeah, I agree
@@Who-lj8mb I feel like you’re forgetting the fact that it’s an analog horror instead of just a crap “anti piracy” screen. But people have they’re own opinions, I won’t argue.
@@Joey-the-Dude i explained why I think the analog horror part is dumb, if anything it should be digital horror and the crappy vhs effects really ruin the vibe. It's just tropes on tropes on tropes

That is dumb. Now Digital Horror or a classic ARG on the other hand...
@@alu2901 bro, your really gonna just push aside the amount of effort put into this just because its VHS? Unbelievable. Also it’s really interesting if you think about it more, besides the VHS filter is meant to be a reference to those Minecraft VHS nostalgia videos you sometimes see.
@@Chronics-um6tr No, I am not setting aside the effort, it just doesn't make that much sense that Minecraft would be on VHS
I like how he didn't alt f4 and deleted thst game instantly
He probably didn't have the keyboard.
As weird as it is recording Minecraft on a vhs it’s an interesting concept. Really captures the feeling of being alone in a Minecraft solo world.
Imagine you're a child, your parents don't have money to buy the game and you want to make a Channel about Minecraft, you install It in a illegal way, and while you're happy that you are able to play It and now can Record It to TH-cam and be happy, this happens...
I would cry a lot
That actually sounds like a plot to a digital horror series/ARG
By the time I get teleported to the flat earth, I would punch a hole in my monitor
I downloaded Minecraft by using the download links in google💀
The real horror of the video was him finding one of those wretched trees with millions of branches at the beginning of the game, and not being able to get everything, because it was so boring.

The loneliness of Minecraft, even after 12 years, gives me that sense of someone or something watching me, just in the fog, just out of reach.
The concept of it being on a VHS is kinda silly without the context (like why would someone record it that way) but you'll eventually make an explanation yourself, so it doesn't matter that much. It's actually pretty creepy and I think it's very vell executed.
Yes😖
tbh, could be curiosity. like, how would it look to play mc on a vhs? i dont think its supposed to be a serious thing, at least not at the start. its like if you watch a modern movie on an old tv. just for the sake of it.

ive been playing Minecraft for around 10 years. And something about this is so strange and creepy, It gives a huge sense of nostalgia but then makes it creepy. Great work again Valox!!!
Also Minecraft needs to add ambient sounds to the game like birds chirping and wind, etc. because it would make the game so much less eerie.

I'd love to see a mod that does smth like this,
similarly to the minecraft from the fog mod,
hell someone should make a shader that is focussed on making minecraft look like analog horror,
specifically adding effects like VHS like effect's, like the static on the screen, making dark places much darker and just decreasing the minimal light amount in general, there is so much potential in the minecraft modding community.
Theres a shader called epoch shader. It has a VHS option and it really cool. But if you want to make it super scary, you need to download mods
A TH-camr called forge labs made a 100 days survival video with a modpack that does this somewhat, maybe they linked the mods in the description 👍

these analog horror piracys are amazing. The creativity put into the videos are just insane; like i noticed that they used the same ghost from the game 'no one online.' I swear to god nearly every video i see has this just tiny details that make the video so amazing. Yet it gives me the uncanny relatable feeling, like when your in a minecraft server alone.. I honestly love this so much there just amazing! Keep up the great work man i love it!!
This is officially better than the FNAF VHS tapes, holy crap! How the gameplay goes normally during the first few minutes and it’s almost therapeutic and definitely nostalgic but then it goes horribly wrong, and the whole way of isolating the game from the outside world, no evidence whatsoever except for the chat and other small things like that. The silence makes so much suspension and anxiety, nearly unbearable to watch and at the end when the mouse went crazy for a split second before disconnecting, you knew someone or some *thing* did something horrid to the player. Very nice work, would like to see more!!

I absolutely fell in love with this. The play on how Minecraft makes you feel so alone, but something’s watching you. I would love to see this series continue somehow, but instead of VHS effects, have it like the old crappy 2000s effects. Nostalgia is its own horror, and I loved to see it in this. And whenever the video just… Ends… No jumspcares, nothing… and we can only guess that player’s fate.
Alright, with the exception of the distorted face being a little silly, that was really creative and had some good chilling moments. Well done.

5:26 was actually so good, this whole video was so unsettling
3:27 you see me
I love how our main guy has no mic on, so anytime it mentions the real world we have to use our imagination to fill in the blanks of what could possibly be outside the persons window or what happened at the end of the video. the pauses enhance this and hit you with the reminder that it’s really just someone playing the game. it makes the ending all the more creepier, because you can’t deduce what happened to the guy with nothing to go off of other than the world just.. basically deleting itself. the mood didn’t feel like it was trying to force feed you horror, and it shows you really don’t need anything loud to scare an audience. even pure static silence works. great video.
(sorry for commenting a whole year later but this only got its way to me now!)
It's been that long already! I remember making this video like it was only a few months ago💀😂 Appreciate it🙏

@@Man_Aslume Everytime you turn around it moves an inch* closer to you, and if you let your guard down for too long it'll peirce through you with its sharp branches, leaving you lifeless in the woods for fungi and other plants to use your body for nutrients, and to this day, the tree still sits their, waiting for its next victim, sounds like a creepypasta, wow 🌲🗡

Man that was sick. Also about the turn behind you. I can say rip for the player behind he computer
Why
He just transform into a ghost and becomes god
Cool stuff, the way that things appear are very smooth and all
The problems that i find is the fact that there is door knockings into the players room and the player doesn't do anything about it
And also the editing that specially at the end it is obviously a photo with some changes on saturation of the background
The mystery is great, most of times, people get scared cause they don't know whats happening, in my opinion mystery is being well-used in this video.
Keep the good work

However, I do feel that the VHS filter was a tad bit unnecessary.
It's a PC game from the early 2010s, a time when VHS would've been replaced with a more digital recording format.
