Nice review! I also noticed one of the good part of this tent. For most of the mid shape tents, they tent to lose their whole shape and tension while you open the zipper of the door(s). When you pitched ur tent really tight and open the door, it gets less tight. And if you then adjust the guide point with the doors open, they are impossible to close after. It was so amazing to see even if you fully opened both doors and the tent shape and tension were still there nicely. Looking forward for more videos of you and this tent!🎉
Hey, thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the tent does keep its tension pretty well with both doors open. It does slacken off a little, but not to the extent it's a problem. I'm really loving the tent so far and am looking forward to getting the solid 1p inner when it comes out. I'll do a full review after the winter. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far mate. Really nicely designed product and I think good value. Looking forward to using it during the winter. Have you been on your wild camp yet?
Nice review Mark. I agree with all points, it’s a great shelter and I hope you enjoy using the 2P inner. The MLD A frame makes the space palatial inside and feels really sturdy when pitched close to the inner footprint. Highest quality of materials and build I’ve used in UL gear, it’s up there with the best and is a very impressive shelter for its weight to weather resistance performance. Top notch bit of kit. Atb
Thanks so much William. Yeah I am loving the tent and look forward to trying the 2p inner out at some point. I'm so impressed with the quality. Bonfus really are producing some top notch kit.
You got the bonfus Mark. Yay.... And you're in the spot again... Got to say it's a very nice tent.. The weight of it is amazing... Good review cheers. 👍. Catch u soon
Yeah, I should have got it in the first place mate. 😂 So much happier with it than the Trekkertent. I'll bring it out on our next camp. Catch up soon matey.
Amazing looking tent, silly sounding name. You could live in that with inner and sleep gear rolled up and then set up when it's time to sleep. Great first look!
Ha ha, yeah you really could. It makes a great shelter with or without inner. I'll pass you feedback on the name onto Bonfus. 😂 Thanks for commenting matey.
Nice review, thanks. I’ve got the Middus 2 and really like it. I got two inners, one solid and one mesh, from AliExpress as they do the T-door which I much prefer to the rainbow style. I’ll be interested to see what Bonfus’s solid inner is like. Thanks again for a great review!
Thanks so much Matthew, glad you enjoyed it. I am loving the tent. I recently purchased the 2p inner and am loving the extra space. I did buy a 3FUL solid inner, but it didn't quite fit, so had to send it back. Am looking forward to seeing what their solid inner is like too. Thanks again for watching mate. 👍
Hey Mark. Yeah, it works really well. I almost bought the Alpkit Tarpstar. The only thing that puts me off with the 1 person inner on that tent is that it fits into the side, not at the back. Isn't a massive issue though. I wish Alpkit would bring out a solid inner for that. For the price it's a cracking tent.
Thank you for the review. It is really hard to find reviews for Bonfus tents that show actual people using them and the amount of space that they offer. I'm thinking of getting the 1P for my next thru-hike, but even with them saying it fits taller hikers at 6'5" this might be a struggle....
Hmm, do you think it would be possible to shorten the sidewall tie-outs on the mesh of the inner net to stretch it at the ends and make it more vertical?
Yeah, not many reviews online at all, this is something I struggled with when choosing to purchase one. How tall are you? I personally think someone around 6'5" would struggle with the 1p inner in the 2p version. I'm 5'10" and it's just about right for me. Although I am still playing around with the pitch to get it nice and taught. Having said that, if you are getting the 1p version, the 1p innernet will probably fit better. One of the issues with the 1p going into the 2p is that that you can't attach the door side of the innernet to the outer, because there are no attachment points. It is a great tent.
Yeah, this is something I'm playing with also, but there is a limit to how much you can do this because the innernet is quite close to the sidewall as it is. It might be better in the 1p version though.
I am 6'5". I have been using a tarp with a bug net from Liteway for the exact same reason, but I want to switch to a simpler tent for my next thru-hike. I was planning to go with the 1P, but it is going to be a tight fit.
@@_Terc_ Hummm, yeah I think it might be a tight fit. My friend gave the 1p inner a go and he is 6'1". He thought it was too tight for him. He's just purchased the Tarptent StratoSpire Li, which is a palace. He's very happy with that.
Its a nice tent mate and another great video wonderfully presented :-) . Wonder how it compares to the Z pack and the new(?) Durston Mid Pro which seem to be at similar price points?
Thanks matey. Well, it has its pros and cons compered to those two tents. It's advantage comes in having a separate inner, so is double walled. Once they bring the solid inner versions out it will make it much more usable year round. It is also better in the wind than the Duplex and X-Mid Pro. All of them are great tents, so sometimes it just comes down to preference. Catch up soon mate.
Hello! I think this is the first review of Middus 2 and it turned out very cool! I also choose this type of pyramid for myself and am debating between LMD Duomid XL, Middus 2 and Hyperlite Mid 2, but there is still a problem. My height is 6.3 feet (193cm) and you said that for such a height there might be difficulties. What do you think is best for me? I think more about Mid 2 because this is the biggest and highest tent. Thank you!
Hey Alex. Glad you enjoyed the video. It's difficult 100% for me to say as I'm 5.10, but out of all of those I would 100% go for the Middus. In theory you should be able to fit in okay. Might be snug, but should be fine. If you're in doubt drop Niccolo an email. He's very helpful and will give you some good guidance. 👍🏻
Very good first look Mark. It looks an interesting piece of kit. I wonder why they didnt put that high vent above the door zip so that all the venting is on the one side and on the outside of the inner. Is that door zip a double zipper ? Is there some way of closing the vent off so that driving rain cannot end up inside ? Very lightweight and spacious . I hope it works for you because it's an expensive set up.
Thanks so much mate. I'm really enjoying it so far. Re the vent, I'm not sure. Maybe they thought with the zip there, it might make it a weak point or maybe not enough space? Annoyingly it's not a double zipper, which is something I plan on feeding back to Bonfus. I do like a double zip. Maybe because it's such a tall tent and the sides slope in quite a bit, they thought it wasn't worth it. I also hope it works for me mate. It cost a bomb, Thanks as always for watching and commenting.
@@trickofthetrail Theres always something that the manufacturers COULD do but they dont much to the end users annoyance. I use a Six Moons Luna Solo of late when the weather looks decent which has quite a large vent but typically when the wind direction changes and its raining i do get some rain coming through the vent but despite that its still a keeper ( Well so far it is 🤔)
Well currently they don't sell a solid inner, although one is being developed and should hopefully be out in the next few weeks. My understanding is they are starting with the 1p solid inner. You could always buy one from another manufacturer such as 3FUl. You'll just need to check the dimensions are okay.
Yeah, it might well do. I purchased a 3FUL solid inner for one of their pyramid style tents, which would have fit if it wasn't for the shape being wrong at the back. However a Lanshan 1 could work. Might be worth a try.
I’ve got two, one solid and one mesh, and they both work well with bungee added to get the height and tension right. They have T-doors which I prefer and are only around £40 each
Nice review! I also noticed one of the good part of this tent.

The 2P tent with a 1P inner is a great touch. Bonfus is definitely one of the better value for money brands. I would use this

Nice tent 👍🏻, was this where you were camping on kinder when we bumped into each other the other week?
Hell matey. Yeah that's the spot, I love it there. This is the only thing I filmed, I didn't do a wild camp video. Hope all is well mate.
For taller people there is the Biggus Dickus tent.
Unfortunately there is no point in me getting that one. 😂
We might consider that name for future tents!
I wonder if a lanshan 1 solid inner could be made to fit
Yeah, it might well do. I purchased a 3FUL solid inner for one of their pyramid style tents, which would have fit if it wasn't for the shape being wrong at the back. However a Lanshan 1 could work. Might be worth a try.
It is lower. So you have to hang it with a bungee cord and add a few tie-outs.

£800+ na
You aren't liking the price mate?
