Thanks matey. The side pockets are a tad too small for my liking too. Wasn't a massive issue on the Cumbria Way, but it would have been nice if they were a smidge bigger. Thanks for the tip with the keys. 😂
It looks like a decent Pack that Mark, stylish too in them colours. If you wanted shoulder strap pockets you could buy a couple of the Waymark pockets from Valley and Peak they will fit nicely on those straps, thats what i do on my Zpacks plus those hip belt pockets on your Bonfus can fit above the water bottle pouches once they are on your shoulder straps which again i do on my Zpacks and i keep my binoculars and phone in them. If you want bigger hip belt pockets then Wild Sky Gear do some really good ones made out of DCF or Ultra i think , again thats what i use on my z packs because they are bigger and in my opinion better than the actual zpacks brand pockets plus they are cheaper . Your reservations on that fine mesh are valid and i have experienced holes through exactly what you mentioned although they have been easy enough to sew up but its not what you want when you are shelling out big bucks for a decent pack. You would think that they would have ironed out that issue by now on all brands but i guess in the effort to save grams thats why they use it. Really good review 😉👍
Yeah, it is a cracking pack mate, I would really recommend it. Funnily enough I did actually use a Waymark shoulder pocket on the pack when I did the Cumbria Way. I have the Waymark Embr, so just stole it off that. Worked great. I actually didn't mind the hip belt pockets being that small and like you say can always use ones from elsewhere, but for the sort of trip I was doing they were just enough for me. I could be totally wrong about the mesh front pocket, it might be just fine, but it doesn't look very resistant to sharp objects to me. I have similar mesh on the side pockets of my Exped Lightning 45 and that got a hole on my second use. Like you say, it's probably in an effort to save weight. Anyway, thanks so much for watching and commenting as always mate. Much appreciate. Have a fab weekend.
Excellent through review and enjoyed your vid. Bonfus are an excellent company and I love this pack and would purchase this or the Saccus, however, the hip belt closure is a no for me. I prefer pulling away type. Maybe they will review in light of comments as well as the top closure clips.
Thanks so much John. I am loving their gear, but yes, totally agree with the top closure and hip belt. Fingers crossed they change this going forward. Neither were a massive issue for me, but it would be much better if they changed this.
I have the Bonfus Iterus 38L and that has the male and female clip at the top. The downside... it only has a single strap instead of the Y splitter. I shove a Beast bin bag inside to waterproof my stuff, the bag isn't 100% waterproof because of the stitching. But you won't have a problem in the rain. The Iterus is also frameless, but you can easily add a back pad on the outside where the straps are. I definitely wouldn't wear anything over 10kg in a ultra light bag. 6-8kg the sweet spot. Like you said, its designed for UL gear. Bonfus is decent though and reasonably priced compared to others of its kind. My wife saw it, said it was a glorified shopping bag with straps and thought I got scammed though
How are you getting on with your glorified shopping bag mate? 😂 All my mates who aren't into camping called my Z-Packs Duplex the "bin bag tent". 😆 So I'm guessing the seams aren't taped like on the Framus then? I do think it's an odd choice that they didn't add male/female on the Framus, more so now I know that they did it on the Iterus. I've just purchased the Bonfus Middus 2p, with the 1p inner. I'm taking it out for the first time this weekend, so looking forward to seeing how that performs.
I love my overpriced shopping bag haha!! Look forward to seeing your next adventures mate. I got my Dales wild camping in 2 weeks. First wild night out
Thanks mate. Yeah the only reason is that I wanted a smaller backpack. I have the Waymark Embr, which is 60 litre and whilst I love it, it is a bit too big for certain trips.
Sorry for the delayed response mate. I do plan on putting out a video comparing the two. I prefer it to both of those packs. It doesn't carry quite as well as the Kakwa, but I find it more comfortable than the MO. I prefer that it doesn't have built in shoulder and hip belt pockets. It also has taped scenes which the others don't. The front pocket is better than the one on the Kakwa, but I am concerned it won't be a tear resistant as the ones on the Kakwa and Mo. Hope that helps mate. Let me know if there is anything specifically you want to know.
Thank you Mark a great review of the type of pack I may buy next as mine is wearing a bit thin.
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the review Dave. It's definitely worth putting on your short list. Really well made, looks great and carries well.
Great review mate as always. Looks a cracking pack
Thanks matey. Yeah is a great pack. Expensive, but imo is worth the money.
Great detailed review Mark. The side pockets would be too small for my liking, but it looks really well made.
Just put your keys in your pocket.

Looks like a nice pack and a decent weight, great review mate.
Thanks mate. Yeah lovely little backpack. Perfect for lighter weight trips. So well made.

@@MonsyGo Oh yeah, let me know how it goes matey. I'm off to the Lakes on Sunday for a few days. Got a new tent to put through its paces. 😬
@trickofthetrail is putting the Bonfus Middus 2P through it's paces.
Great review! Is there a reason you went with the 48L version instead of the 58L?
Thanks mate. Yeah the only reason is that I wanted a smaller backpack. I have the Waymark Embr, which is 60 litre and whilst I love it, it is a bit too big for certain trips.
How does this compare to the atom mo and durston kakwa.

I have the same backpack. There are water drainage holes at the bottom of side pockets. Just look at the corners, or feel them with your finger.
Ah okay, I hadn't actually noticed. I will correct the video or take that part out. Thank so much for letting me know.
