I was among the persons that thought it was a good idea for LFM to be paying so people will be more careful after paying. This video is a good argument against it.
Problem is Iracing only cares about intentional wrecks and calling people names. If they actually enforced bad driving habbits by reducing license ranks, maybe it wouldn't suck as much as it does.
iracing is far better then LFM though, in terms of idiots per race.
With a lobby like that, all the drivers should be taking a holiday!

I'm finding more and more that Iracing is slowly turning into F1 online. I can't get into a race with out someone making a huge mistake costing a massive wreck or intentionally pushing people off the track.
Too many people whole sit in test sessions turning laps to get pace but then when they actually have to race people they can't hold their line.
This is actually a huge problem with the 2.5-4k irating range. A bunch of really fast drivers who have no idea how to actually race.
Another massive issue is that Iracing doesn't enforce yellow flags at all. I understand that this would be borderline impossible.
When you have to slow down for a wreck where you aren't even involved and then 10 cars speed past you to take advantage of the yellow instead of being cautious it's super annoying.
I made my second ever race protest for deliberate crashing at Silverstone this week. Went from a 4.99 SR to 1.8 over the course of the week. Absolutely outrageous driving for top split.
Hey Dave, friendly neighborhood audio engineer here. If you want suggestions for reducing the bass shaker noise there's 2 main things to consider. If the noise is coming through the rig look into shock mounting the mic, and/or if you've got the boom arm mounted directly to the rig you might look at getting a mic stand just to decouple it. If it's picking up the bass shaker sound just in the room you'll either need to get some good noise reduction going in post and/or get a more directional mic, maybe a small shotgun style. If you want any advice/tips just let me know.
I’ve been doing some penance races lately to repair my safety rating. Starting from the back, driving to survive 😇 and I’ve routinely been gaining 10+ places. It makes me feel like I’ve discovered a cheat code! 😉
This was a clown show, never saw a lobby like that, it’s worse than GT7 😂 iRacing need to sort this out either with being less lenient with the ban or for example by making the race of the same series locked at least for the next two time slot in case you reach the maximum incident points…with an attached message like: “go get a cold shower”

I was able to give out audio and receive mic from the back of my motherboard and send the shaker signals to my shakers via front audio out of my case. In the Realtek driver software i ticked the box to send different sources to different audio outs! That did the trick for me! Before I had bass on the shakers and headset. 🤞
Not sure that was a takeout at the end, the inside car seemed to lock up a tad and should have been more inside on the apex by the corner, and the outer car would be expected to turn into the now-vacated space.

did 2 races one with the FIxed Series and the other with the open, Top split in both and it was one of the best racing since ages.
It's a shame seeing the carnage at the end, you might expect this in a lower split but top split?

Great race as always Dave. I gotta say, after a couple of recent abysmal races, I've folded my rig and taken a break from sim racing because it proved to be more frustrating than fun, in large part due to drivers like your friend Albert and those who are trying to win the race at turn one. If you gotta send it when you're two cars' length behind the driver ahead, you're not faster man, you're just an arse. Not to say that kind of strategy is unsustainable long-term (as seen here), so I really don't get these guys and how they ended up in such high splits.
It's quite simple, usually the car sending it is the car that survives the contact. iRacing doesnt give a crap and doesnt suspend / ban people for driving like that. Meanwhile they'll just grind some TT's or Nurb to get their safety rating in check.
@@Regret696 yeah I've noticed a slight nudge towards the victim when they're at their rear wheel aswell.. must be getting out of shape quite alot just at the worst moment for their intended victim
I looked up good old Albert and he's anything but old. Looks like he doesn't even have any fuzz on his peaches yet, so that pretty much explains it... Just an insufferable bed-wetter that ruins everyone else's drive.

How did dive bombing suddenly become "send it" and suddenly it's ok to dive bomb and side swipe another driver while your subs tell you what a good driver you are?
I see this horrible behavior from Dalking and Jardier and their viewers. Sim Racing used to be about respecting other drivers but we are now in the Call of Duty era of sim racing and it's ugly tbh.

Last video I commented I remember why I loved racing so much and thought about getting back into it cause I miss it so much. But with drivers like that I remember why I quit in the first time. I wish I had half of your patience with these kind of knobheads. Keep it up Dave, you are an inspiration!
Dave have you ever considered streaming races like these every once in a while? I'm sure the audience would be there for it. I know I would. Theres not many IRacing streamers on YT. They're all on Twitch.
Just wish iRacing would have a more intelligent incident issuing system. Differentiating between what is your fault and what you have no control over.

Jesus christ - I can't believe the level of driving here in this race, I'm currently in D license and seen better standard of driving in the Mazda Series. If this is what I've got to look forward to, then I won't bother with the Porsche Cup. It just looks like a few drivers see the red mist really quickly, lose patients and retaliate. If these guys have been around the block a few times, then they should know better.

I just got my A license and 3300 iraitng, bought the Porsche, tried to race in Imola, lost 400 irating and my A license back to B, all in one week. This is ridiculous.
Why can't I drive GT3 Dave? Why are they so much harder. I go as fast as I can and am 8 seconds slower then everyone else. Other cars I'm always in top 5 but this car I just get overtaken like I'm standing still. I don't understand it

I’ve literally just bought this porches cup gt3, I cannot drive it for shit. Constantly locking the wheels, I get it takes practice but Jesus Christ it’s easier to play fog than drive this car 🤣

top spilt more like top babies, i don't mind close racing but i do mind people not holding their line and chasing one around the track because for som slip stream... 1kph more top speed woooow
I don't understand why iRacers don't complain more about the "slow down", it's an unfair and dangerous system. You go wide and lose a few thenths and the game still penalize you 1 or more seconds for that, so frustrating and bullshit

Some of the driving behaviour in this race makes me think those guys should stick to playing forza horizon. Good result for you though. I think just being out of the carnage is a result!
maximum iRating per safety rating when? divebomb everyone until you get points shouldn't reward you if others are the reason you finish at all
Dave, What about putting some neoprene pads for isolation when mounting the microphone. Might be an inexpensive fix.

Every time I see a pcup race it reinforces that I shouldn't race it.
Nice and entertaining video Dave. I've had a few races like this and I feel that it's getting worse lately. It's annoying that you have to worry more about avoiding incidents with the aggressive drivers than to race. The most frustrating part is that those aggressive drivers think they are very good. They do lots of overtakes because they are so much better when in reality is because many other drivers just let them go to avoid incident points and lose SR. I don't know to which extend the PESC isn't having a bad influence in the normal Porsche Cup Series. Sometimes it feels like drivers, like some we saw here, want to prove that they are as good as the ones racing in PESC. 😕
I'm one of those drivers who let aggressive drivers pass to avoid incidents. Even if I'm still a beginner (I started iRacing a month ago after I drove in ACC and LFM) I learned very quick that it's better to let them go. The most of the time you will get the positions back when they have crashed ot rage quit the race. But your right it is some big problem simracing has that there is no race intelligence for some users.

I'm al little shocked about that race. I came over to iRacing from ACC and LFM a month ago because racing there was just a carnage at last. The LFM Team does a great job but the community is since a few month really aggressive and reckless. My first experience with iRacing was much better and fair racing. Since I saw this now... 🤔

Hi Dave! I really enjoy the content of your videos and since you mentioned a bass shakers I would like to know your opinion about BUTTKICKER vs. SLIP-ANGLE bass shakers. Which one you find better and why? Deep respect for your hard work and thank you for all the not just useful, but necessary information for us, to have a better sim racing experience!!!
I've never actually tried a buttkicker but I've had one shaker under my seat before so kinda know how it feels. The slip angle kit on 4 corners is much better as you would expect for the price 👍

man lap 1 was such a joke, it looked like I blinked (#3 Shazoo car) but I didn't on his screen (he streamed so I watched it back), he just completely punted me and P1. It's honestly the only bad incident I was involved in over 12 or so races (raced alot to get to 6k) so not too bad.
However the punt to pass from me was abysmal, took full responsibility for that & apologised to the guy straight away as it was simply a horrible move caused by my own frustration after Lap 1. Fortunately all my other races were clean though

I wouldn't say I was good, but it's taken me a long time to kinda understand it. Nice and progressive with the brake and lots of trail braking to get it to rotate 👍

it really does.... I got intent wrecked twice last week at le mans and then I watched someone get intent wrecked yesterday... and yes they were true intent wrecks, not just a loss of brain cells
Great race alot of lick st the start followed by some class driving towards the end of the race. Nice to see even a season sim racer like yourself make small mistakes under pressure
