Wow, your precision with the airbrush #goals! And you better teach those zombie hands the proper way to hand wash on that base 😂

Thank you so much Em! I'm thinking of starting a patron and teaching a course on airbrush precision practice, light and color theory. Wasn't sure if there might be interest in something like that. LOL they would be great as a helping hand around the studio!

If its any consolation, I spend a lot of time planning out many of my bases as well; generally speaking, I'll play around with different compositions using just dry fitting stuff to see how it looks and its not uncommon for me to either adapt or completely scrap an idea mid project. I view the bases as really selling the story, so if it doesn't gel for me it throws off my painting mojo and leaves me frustrated. One piece of advice I'd offer (take it or leave it, up to you) is that if you're worried about a specific color overwhelming the base, either de-saturate by adding black or mix in another color from the base (for this, the mid tone gray would have worked); if you de-saturate it, the eye tends to sort of just scan quickly over it as background information so you'll know its there but it doesn't draw so much attention; whereas if you use another color from the base, it will blend things together a lot more and allow you to decide where you want to place emphasis.

TheRunesmythe that’s great advice, I’ll play more with desaturation .

Yep, it's the theme to my Flesh Eater Courts but it works for any death faction. What did you think of the hands? Too much?

Question, by the way, I often have trouble with my Greenstuff being "too sticky". How long do you suggest leaving it to dry out before handling?

First off, let me say that time can vary depending on how much of each component you use; ideally you want to get as close to equal of each part, but if you have more hardener than epoxy it will start to sure faster and if you more epoxy than you do hardener it will take longer. Generally speaking, assuming a 50/50 mix, or close to it, I usually let fully mixed Green Stuff sit for about 20-25 minutes; this should be enough time to get rid of excess stickiness and let the putty firm up enough so that it will easily hold a shape with some resilience (e.g. you won't have to worry about any details you sculpt just sort of "melting" back together, sharp lines getting soft and mushy etc.) but it should be workable enough that you can get it to adhere to whatever surface you're applying it to as you're sculpting. I've found that the best way to test it is to keep a small bit aside from your main mass and at the 20 minute mark start trying to roll it out into a snake, or sausage, or whatever you want to call that tubular shape; if its still sticking to your wet fingers and wet work surface and easily deforming either with little pressure or under its own weight then leave it sit for a while longer.
