- Athletes took on Semifinals Linda - a twist on the classic CrossFit benchmark workout - in Test 3 of the 2023 North America East Semifinal.
Watch the final women's heat battle through this descending rep scheme of deadlifts, dumbbell bench presses, and squat cleans.

Three layers of audio is one too many.
Does CrossFit not understand you can live stream and make a highlight video? If they can't afford the analysts with every event, just stream with the floor announcers. This video with elevator music is ridiculous. The competitors and viewers deserve better.
I hope they fix it and live stream all events for the semis coming up…

Probably laid over the video after the event to cover any live music that was played for which they don't have the copyright

The absolute absence of any visual/graphical information is something unreal ... even the broadcasts from high school competitions are at a higher level. Not to mention the completely confused direction
Sad we couldn’t watch this live and can’t watch other heats. Not sure how doing it this ways makes you more money or makes your fans happy.
This music and footage is embarrassing. What a let down to all the athletes who’ve worked so hard and the fans who want to cheer them on. Shame on CrossFit.

It’s to prevent TH-cam from flagging the background music for copyright.
@@WayneGlass1 they don’t put background music during the live stream.
@@patrickconnor9507 I think Wayne means the music that is played during the events. Example, if they play Rihanna's Umbrella, TH-cam will flag it for copyright. Then we'll get a mute video with no music or commentary. So the alternative is elevator music and commentary laid over the video after the fact
It's mentally taxing to try to focus on all of the different layers of audio in this.
I absolutely could not agree more. The elevator music was the cherry on top of an awful friggin sundae of audio and broadcasting issues.

Have to agree with other posters. We certainly don't need the lame music in the background. What we need are Pat Sherwood, Sean Woodland and Tommy Marquez.
And if the sport can't afford them, then they shouldn't be hosting any games. They should realize that part of the reason people have been dropping out is because CF is no longer being treated like a sport. The prize money should be double what's offered. Find that sponsor money or more of the better athletes will drop out as well.

Good god this is barely watchable with three audio feeds overlapping. Whoever had the idea for the backing music make sure no other idea of theirs is ever listened to, the earlier feeds didn’t have it so why ruin the last day.

just you. Standard is that 1 head of the db has to touch the shoulder
@@robgronkowski947 got it - then it looks like a lot of the athletes made it much harder for themselves than they needed to by lowering their elbows below parallel
@@sueperstar777 most people have their elbows go below 90 degrees when benching

This is unwatchable, I love the live streams but the sound quality, music too loud over the top and awful graphics are very poor relations to the great live coverage crossfit normally provides.

As a CrossFit community, we ask you to never decide to do coverage like this again. Not being able to view the tests in real time, not being able to see all the athletes, and terrible commentary make for a terrible watch experience for all of us fans.
