Oh, I was looking at your other update I assumed it was cut springs. Glad you didn't do that & yes I was buying the lowering control arms you mentioned.
Nice truck man! I have a 98 5 speed 5.2. Those rear leaf bolts are a nightmare, I'm swapping in a disc brake rear and lowering mine. I ended up using an acetylene torch
If you could help me understand I put this kit on and while I was at it I bought beltech lowering leaf springs and i installed them and the kit at the same time and it sits much lower than yours and im wondering if it’s the new leaf springs because I don’t like it that low because I can barely get my hand between the fender well and tire so if you could help me I’d appreciate it
Wow it sure held on An didn’t want to come apart !! I had a good chuckle when you said 600 hp electric impact .. too funny 😄.. but you got er done !! Looks much better now way less fender well gap showing.. should look good when u get front done .. I like ur good clean work u do .. I’m particular like that as well 👌good job boost !! Look forward to vids to come cheers man 👍
Do yiu ever bottom out when you’re just driving around? Im thinking about getting that same kit on my dakota sport but idk if i should c notch it as well
Boosted I need help again I installed the beltech hangers and also went as far as to get the springs and shocks to but I’m running into my rear being lower than my front and I don’t know what to do my truck is not an rt so instead of it dropping 3inchs like yours mine is dropping 4inchs is there a way I can make it level ?
@ so is there a way to solve the v6 springs issue or should I just rock a smaller tire for the fronts or could you possibly swap a rt spring into the v6 but at the moment my v6 will be swapped to a 5.2 magnum in the next few months
Hey man i have a Dakota just like this but im thinking about getting a lift and some new tires for more offroading...what would you recommend for the lift kit and tires?
I have the Belltech kit that I am currently installing on my 1999 Dakota R/T. If you order a new kit it only comes with the Front drop hangers for the leaf springs, no rear included for an R/T. Just curious why yours has the drop hangers for the rear of the leafs?
you bought a different kit then this one. belltech has several different kits for the dakotas. i bought the complete kit front and rear and have all 4 leaf hangers. i was looking at just buying the 2 front hangers and slowly getting everything but it was cheaper to just save up and get the full kit.
I figured it out after comparing kits on Belltech's website. You have a kit for a non-R/T Dakota. They don't offer a kit with rear hangers for the R/Ts. Not sure what the difference is?
John, how do you like harbor freight tools? Obviously not pro grade but have you had relatively positive experiences? Any tools to absolutely stay away from?
I'm with ya on that one! I never really looked at these either and just thought it would be a fun project for the channel but its really growing on me now!
I got a LS swapped dakota. They are slick trucks definitely unique. Dont see a lot of nice custom ones I like being the only guy on the road with something unique
Keep up the good work. I may would have used a angled piece of steel for the e-brake bracket for strength and safety. But nice job. The hanger kit on the rear of these truck is the best wtg. Get nice silver belltech shocks. REMOVE your rear bumpstops. They unbolt. I bet you are sitting on them now. You need that travel or it will ride like poop. And let's get them mirrors on too
Pretty sure the axle will be on the frame if I add that to these rear hangers. The axle is already only a few inches from the frame right now. It would need a c notch probably next
Lol sport mirrors ahahah never heard anyone call my normal kota mirrors sport mirrors lol that's funny man but nah for real tho the ones u had on that rt are hella weird n not for or from a Dakota lol itll look much better with the "sport" joints ahahah
I’ve got the 03 R/T and finding the parts I need to go 2/4 is crazy. There’s 5.5” of space between the bottom of my fender in the top of my tire. I have to figure out a way to take it down for inches and the thought of putting blocks back there isn’t one I’m comfortable with. I just don’t like how it looks. Also, there has to be a better way to lower the front 2 1/2 inches besides just springs. Facesturbo@gmail. Any advice would be fantastic, especially if it’s advice that’s actually useful
Get rid of the stupid wheel spacers!... can't believe they are legal again seen many of them shear the studs and wheels come off just to have tire sticking out past the body which in my opinion is another dumb look ...but hey your truck do what you like....
That was a fight all the way thru... Persistence paid off!
lol yeah definitely! Super happy with it now though!
Looks great! Very informative on what is needed for the job. Good work.
Good stuff man, persistence pays off! Keep the videos coming, have a great weekend!
Thanks brother you too!
How where you able to take out the leaf spring bolt next to the gas tanks?
I don't have a lift but I bought a 99 r/t that was already lowered with the same kit it bottoms out how do I get it to stop bottoming out
Oh, I was looking at your other update I assumed it was cut springs. Glad you didn't do that & yes I was buying the lowering control arms you mentioned.
Sweet job👍! That truck is looking clean 👌
Nice truck man! I have a 98 5 speed 5.2. Those rear leaf bolts are a nightmare, I'm swapping in a disc brake rear and lowering mine. I ended up using an acetylene torch
Would this drop lit work on my 1999 dodge Dakota 3.9 v6 sport
Little fighting but good install, almost there
Yeah she was definitely putting up a fight but we got it done 💪
Would this lowering kit work on the 4x4 4wd version Dakota?
Did you put the headlights in or were they on it? Looking for some new ones
Does the Belltech kit fit the Durango too?
If you could help me understand I put this kit on and while I was at it I bought beltech lowering leaf springs and i installed them and the kit at the same time and it sits much lower than yours and im wondering if it’s the new leaf springs because I don’t like it that low because I can barely get my hand between the fender well and tire so if you could help me I’d appreciate it
Just do the hangars with stock leaf spring. Can’t do both
@@BoostedMotorsports thank you

Man, how did you get the rear brackets off? I've grinded the rivets down and everything and cant get them to come off
Air hammer is the best way!

I tried to resolve this with the company but they couldn’t figure it out. I’m willing to bet the v6 front lowering springs might be the answer
@ so is there a way to solve the v6 springs issue or should I just rock a smaller tire for the fronts or could you possibly swap a rt spring into the v6 but at the moment my v6 will be swapped to a 5.2 magnum in the next few months

Isnt bauer also from the horrible freight ?
Where’s the video for the front?
That Dakota is looking nice I'll buy it once you finish the build lol
Damn lots of work u guys worked ur but’s off great video 😥
How did you tighten the bolts next to the gas tank I'm just really struggling hardly any space at all
I came in here to ask this question. There’s like no space and they just glossed over it.
@@13JosieJ13 i had to loosen the bolts that hold the fuel tank to slide the bolts in and tighten everything up
Love your videos!!!

Sway bar replacement video?
Hi was was wondering if the kit fit on a Dakota 2002 r/t existed cab. Plz let me know
go to the belltech website and it will tell you
Nice video got a 99 Solar Yellow Dakota I'm wrenching on myself. You where using a tool from Autozone mentioned at 8:33 what was the name of it?
Sooo... you gunna throw the viper wheels on there after you lower it, you know just to see how it looks 😁
Oh definitely! 😎
John, how do you like harbor freight tools? Obviously not pro grade but have you had relatively positive experiences? Any tools to absolutely stay away from?
Nick D stay away from the torque wrenches they tend to be innacurate
damn tbh was really never a fan of the dakotas but tbh i'ts pretty clean and different from the car/truck scene feel like getting one myself now
I'm with ya on that one! I never really looked at these either and just thought it would be a fun project for the channel but its really growing on me now!

Can I get the body specs please ? , I have a 2001 dodge dakota and would love to do something like this tbh , ty 😏
Je cherche ce kit pour la France mais introuvable 175€ de livraison
Très bonne chaîne c’est cool ça le donne plein de conseil
You should put some 2” lowering blocks on it
Pretty sure the axle will be on the frame if I add that to these rear hangers. The axle is already only a few inches from the frame right now. It would need a c notch probably next
Go ahead and put the viper wheels on you won’t be disappointed
Are you going to cam this baby?
Yes sir! 🤟
Can’t wait for that day! These trucks are lightweight with a slow 5.9 but camming them it just opens up so much power!
Thumbs up, Awesome!

4 inch blocks would have been much easier.
