I’m still new to the WTA setting but…I find it hard to believe any werewolf would doubt the apocalypse is real
As creatures of conscience and intellect, it is not hard to believe "some" doubted it. The plot will reveal reasons why this doubt were in their mind. It's a voluntary narrative hook to stimulate the questioning. Not a brand statement.
Before the Industrial Revolution, it was easier to believe that the Apocalypse was myth. It was a distant problem, the nature at that time wasn't that wounded. After the 19/20th century, it was very clear that something was wrong.

@@gary.paitre Yeah, maybe, but that would be a very rare exception, by the ending of the 20th century, only a delusional Garou would deny that Gaia is at least very badly wounded. The default belief in Garou Nation is that the Apocalypse is close. There are theories that the Apocalypse could be part of a cyclic event or something like that, but in general only some Stargazers has that in mind

Quick question, I just found out about Vampire the Masquerade chapters on Quackalops channel. I admit I've only been following for less than a year. The vampire game looks amazing but I admit I am partial to werewolves over vampires. Is the werewolf version here gonna have the same story driven elements or is it just a boss battle strategy game?
It’s going to have a solid layer of rpg mechanics just like chapters. Combats are central, but not everything.

@@gary.paitre Lord...since freshman year of HS, I think. So about 25-ish years. (Well, less playing and more devouring the lore and making OCs, since I didn't have anyone to actually play with until after college, lol.) I think the first book I picked up was the Silent Striders tribebook and it was all over after that.

Yes, we post an update about CHAPTERS progress each month on the Kickstarter page. You will find answers to all your questions there. CHAPTERS is in production and will begin shipping quite soon.

It all depends on the amount of interested backers. Creating a campaign is a long and demanding process.

Is this game ok for someone with zero prior knowledge of the WTA universe?
The world narrative is slowly introduced, and no WTA knowledge is required to enjoy the game.
Question for the devs: Is there a place where we can discuss about the game and give feedback ?
For instance: I have noticed that Ragabash Auspice gives 3 successes on stealth rolls, while Blur of the Milkey Eye gives extra dice. I believe that these bonuses could switch because traditionally the Gift (Blur of the Milkey Eye specifically) lowers the difficulty of stealth roll and the difficulty system in W5 is the number of successes.
So the Auspice could easily play the specialty/profession (Rogue) enhancement role (aka dice), while the Gift make more easy that profession application (aka successes).
Well, just an idea of the many 😋
That's the whole objective of the Kickstarter campaign. During the 17 days it will last, we will collect backers feedback and keep the best ideas to implement it in the game. We did it on several aspects of CHAPTERS already.

So hold on a second. You've now released this onto Kickstarter, without even fulfilling Chapters yet? That's really not a good look. So basically the usual KS of getting enough funding to finish a prior KS because it needs bank to complete.
Well, that’s a way to see things. Let me try to explain a little more. We finished our job on chapters months ago. The production is running, and the whole team is working on retaliation. But we invested every cent we earned on the making of chapters. The goal is not to make an OK game, we want to make the best game we can… could we have done things in a better way? Probably, but so far, the reviews we get confirms we made the right choice.
Now, if we wait until everyone receives their copy of chapters, the studio won’t have enough funds to keep running. So we decided to launch the Kickstarter just a few weeks-months before delivery. That way, we keep our staff and we can keep working on another great game.

@@gary.paitre Lol I’ve run two indie businesses in my time and have been indie a large portion of my professional life. You didn’t manage your business or studio properly which is why you did ye ol’ KS move of “we ran out of money at the final stretch and need a new KS to fund/finish the first one.” This isn’t new and if you read the message boards on Chapters backers are saying the same things. Oh I know I don’t have to back it. But since it’s a public forum I’m simply stating things.

Ähm, just asking: This sounds so much like playing a full on ttrpg, why would I play this instead? I mean, besides the hexgrid combat, everything else seems to me like typical rpg mechanics or mechanics for a specific campaign.
I mean, yeah, minis and boardgamematerials are cool, but...

Hi Felix. It's a fair question. RETALIATION is an RPG in a box (dungeon crawler like), with no game master required. It offers solo and coop play, highly detailed miniatures, layers of combat strategy, a rich and deep narrative campaign divided in over 30 scenarios. The intention is not to replace the ttrpg, it's simply to offer another sort of experience.
@@flyosgames so it's like the call of cthulu ones but werewolf so really it's a way for a forever DM to kinda play with the group.

WTF The Apocalypse is the core of the beliefs of the Garou and their struggles against the Wyrm! First the terrible previews of the new WW 5 ed and now this...
Some garou from that specific caern believed that. It’s not a brand statement, just a narrative introduction for this specific game.
Eh I’d prefer a video game but it’s cool that tis exists/will exist.
When I clicked on it I was expecting a video game and was thinking “I hope this ends up being better than Earthblood.”
