Same. I was working at a Girl Scout camp. I was working with a group of older teen girls, and they had my boss call me an emergency over the walkie. At first, she didn't want to do it, but they insisted. The way I wailed into the walkie when they told me, she didn't understand. We had a whole musical memorial and campfire for him right there in the woods of West Virginia.
I was a fan of Luther since he was with the group CHANGE. His voice stood out. My favorite song by the group is THE GLOW OF LOVE. It was the #1 on the Billboard Chart (1980). I remember Luther discussing that they didn't put him on the cover of the album due to his weight. This broke my heart. In any event, Luther proved them wrong. He became a G.O.A.T.
