    Hi Rick, hood the family is healthy and safe, and your son's hockey is going well. I want to thank you for introducing me to TuxMat. Knowing we needed a new everyday vehicle before leaving Italy, where we have been since October, we called our local BMW dealership. We asked them to have an X5 ready before our return (long-time customer), and I ordered a set of TuxMats. Like you, love them, the way they fit, and high up they come. I want to thank you, and I told TuxMat, they owe you big time for introducing them to your viewers.
    Also, love you shop manager Oscar.

      That's awesome. I haven't heard back from the guy at Tuxmat that reached out to me in the beginning, but I am hoping I can forge some sort of relationship with the team at Tuxmat to bring about some incentive/discount for buyers. Still working on it. I trust you enjoyed your Italian getaway.

      Thanks so much. It's always a struggle limited the extent to which I go on a weekly refresh project because, as I am sure you know, there is no real limit to how far you can go into the small spaces on an interior detail. I plan on doing a full extent detail in the Spring.

    Great work and editing 👌 Do you use any leather protection? How about Gyeon leather coat, gyeon shield or Koch LS?

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use leather coatings time to time, but with the amount of regular cleaning my interior sees, I don't really see much point in using coatings as they only seem to last a few months and don't really provide me with any tangible benefits. I get why some people love them, but I'm satisfied with regular "refresh" cleanings like the one featured here. Thanks for the question.

      @RADGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find some interior cleaners lather up so nicely, and the recently acquired GloveboxRx Interior Cleaner reacts very nicely when used in combination with an ultra soft brush. I have a few of those style of brushes and they are just amazing to work with.

    • @RADGarage

      The mat clean lathers up like shaving cream and leaves a slightly less shiny look.

    I have a question reffering to seats and steering wheel cleaning..
    Are you wiping the material with dry or wet towel?
    ( I use KochChemie Po for leather but dunno if i need to wipe with wet or dry towel after aplication)

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Personally, after a few passes with a dry microfibre towel, I reach for a new one. I will go through quite a few 320 GSM towels on an interior detail. Slightly damp is fine for me, but once they are actually "wet", I don't use them any longer.

    Have an SQ5 also, but my seats have Alcántara inserts. Any tips on recommended products and procedure?

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, cleaning alcantara is a bit of an intimidating prospect. I go back to the principle that can be removed from anything with the right product and process. A mild interior cleaner with slight agitation should be enough to dislodge the dirt from the fibres, but you would need an effective way of extracting that liquid without grinding it back into the fibres. I know Car Cleaning Guru did a video a while back on his alcantara Ford Escort seats, but it was a pretty major process. I have yet to come across heavily soiled Alcantara.

    • @RADGarage
      @RADGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am finding there is no need to empty it since most of the water in the basin evaporates. The dry winter air seems to suck it up brilliantly, and any humidity in the garage caused by that evaporation is captured by my Frigidaire dehumidifier. So, it's a perfect system! PS.
