In This Weeks Video We Are taking A Look At The Impressive Design And Live Bear testing Of The Bear Vault.
After Researching Gear For A Year And Following What Rises To Popularity, I Was Intrigued With How Bear Vault Managed To Maintain Its Prominence On The REI Shelf And Why Other Brands Of Bear Canister Suppliers Seem To Be Fading Away, And I Have My Theories Why.
This Was A Super Unfortunate Piece Of Gear I Had To Purchase In Order To Backpack In National Forests, But It Turns Out To Be A Fascinating Piece Of Equipment, And Ultimately For An Amazing Cause.
Over The Last Year Ive Been Researching Bear Activity, Attacks, Preventive Measures, Steps National Parks Have To Take When Bears Become Accustomed To Human Food, And Im Just Overall Fascinated With The Subject.

It’s a love/hate relationship with the bear vault. Things I like about it:
Allows items / food to not get crushed, can store other items in it, do not have to do a bear hang in a tree.
Dislikes: bulky, more weight than you’d otherwise have. Tabs are annoying in cold weather.
Howdy! Thats a reasonable love / hate list right there.
I can’t imagine trying to nail a line the right way to hang while I’m all tired and ready for dinner ha no way…so it was straight to canister for me.
