The place looks like a cellar for storing food, but it could have doubled as a bomb shelter, I suppose. It probably has a pretty constant temperature all year round, so it would be a good place to store potatoes and other kinds of food, ripen cheese, or even brew beer that needs to go through a secondary fermentation in a cold temperature (lagering).

These thing were used by foresters... or how would u call them. They used them for storing food for wild animals and for young trees and saplings, well at least in my village.

Those bricks looks newer then ww2, i don't think they made that type of brick back then.

That's what I thought aswell, my daughter just told me she went there with her school on a trip and they said it was something to do with the war, weather or not they added to it at a later date im not sure. I'm still looking online but can't seem to find any info on it

Looks like an old house similiar to the one that once has been existing on the hill that is near my house. The same white colour, small rooms and stuff. Might by just a house or a bunker or just a random building.

definitely not ww2 bunker - maybe once but later rebuilt. bricks you can see are late 70´ or younger, the same concrete panel. most probably storage unit for harvest food or used by local hunters for temporary storage of food and salt they give deers thhru winter , maybe even former wine cellar or destillery

Looking at the troughs around the edges, it could be an animal shelter or an old public toilet.

Hmmm.... amazing... I never was there.
But I guess that it is not war bunker but maybe some storage without any connection to WW2. Because I was in a few real bunkers and I can tell you that these doors that you entered were quite thin. Real bunker should have something like blast-doors... mostly at least 10cm thick (and mostly stolen already :D ). And no wall would be made out of bricks... because they will be destroyed by first hit. All walls should be from concrete. Also these walls were quite nice and still with paint on it. If it was from the WW2, it would have been all disintegrated by now..
I am not sure where it is, but if it is close to the railway it also could be some maintenance room. Who knows.

The place is so familiar to me. Is it in Lisková? If it is I think the "bunker" was built for the Soviet army when the whole area was used as their military training area. I was there after the army left Slovakia in 1991.
I can't believe how the place is so different with big trees now.

I think you can find more info about it in the Lisková village office. They should definitely know more about it.

@@JonoGraham I'm so happy that you do videos in my home village. I grew up there. So happy to see familiar places. I'd love to see more videos from the place, maybe Liskova cave, Choč, log cabins in the Liskova forest,...?

      Where do you live now?
I have one on the cave, and the mushroom foraging videos are in the forest here in liskova. I haven't been able to film this week as my camera isn't waterproof and the weather has been rubbish, I have a gopro coming on Friday (hopefully) so will be filming alot around here in the coming months.

I am not sure if it is 100% true but i am from Lisková and i was told that it is the remains of a Russian army base or smthing ... when i was young there was sort of gatehouse on road leading to this place. But maybe they were just kidding. :D

Its too shallow for bunker. In my opinion its was/was meant to be for agricultular use for local JRD back in socialist era. Its some kind of cellar, and from area, i would guess for aging or smoking cheese
