Lajon kept thanking me for supporting them. It meant the world to me as a teenager! I was talking about it for weeks. Even 20 years later I remember it. These guys deserve every ounce of success they got!
Saw them years ago opening for Ozzy Osborne in Australia. Stadium was almost empty for sevendust, the people there just didn't go in for them. Loved them, after the show everyone was waiting for Ozzy's car to drive out and sevendust came strolling out to say hi despite the crowd not caring. Was great haha

So he forgot to sing while his back up vocals were playing. thats all. i mean ashley simpson did the same thing. i love thier first two albums, but i got tired of them when they constantly kept perpetuating the death of lynn strait. there were 3 different singles to that song on different albums. then that cheap ass dex farara dis because the drummer was banging rayna. he obviously had personal problems, then recently they go on tour with coal chamber, suporting slot of course. that song praise was terrible. oh and yes of course this didnt help their case. i get it , it was woodstock alot of pressure. but backup chorus vocals have no spot in metal especially live. thats what the rest of the band is for. its not super criminal just weak like what they have become. they just loss the edge that made them great.

From my vantage, anyone who is critiquing this performance is outing that they have proooobably not spent a lot of time as a live performer, at least not in many varied venues or contexts, anyone who has performed or mixed live FOH or live broadcast in a show with a ton of complex transitions enough knows exactly what went down here and sees the way Lajon masterfully handled it, and I just really enjoy Sevendust so dang much that is all have a lovely day
I've never listened to this group before so I clicked on it and was surprised I've never listened to them before definitely need to look up more of their songs the lead singer has awesome singing ability and I totally love the control he has with his vocals to go from calmly singing to screaming the back to calmly singing and he has a good voice me being a singer knows what it takes to have that kind of control it takes a lot of practice a lot of patience to get the sound you want the notes you want a it tanks breathing skills and a lot of practice.
I was at this show at Woodstock '99. What's hard to grasp for the average watcher here on youtube, this set (whole concert performance of Sevendust) they played through some of the worst scary weather I have ever watched at a live concert. It was a former air force so it is wide open. There were lightening and thunderstorms and almost tornado force winds in certain times of their show! They did not stop once and I CAN tell ya because I was there, the look on some of the people in the crowd when the storm starting coming in was the "Oh shit" look on some people's fences! Just to give you a reference how bad some of the winds were during that storm, we saw people's tents go flying and rolling in the air in the distance! That is what made this show to memorable. People stayed and Sevendust played their asses off! And then a huge rainbow hung in the sky later on in their set. It was fucking awesome!
?? I was there and the storm wasn't even bad, and didn't last long - seemed like it started like it was going to be something then fizzled. I didn't even really pay any attention to it, and was reading your comment like 'what storm is he talking about?' It was a bad ass 3 days though, and the firestorm of trash later that night was surreal, with Megadeth playing the whole time on second stage.

I was 13 when an abridged Woodstock 99 was broadcast on the local rock radio station. The audio of this performance was the first taste I got of an aggressive live metal band and I loved it! It was a factor that made me love heavy music for life and become a musician. I still have that recording on a cassette tape. The sound mix was slightly different than it is here and It was so heavy and badass!

Seems like it was a lifetime ago now but that was an amazing show. Feel blessed to have grown up in the '80s '90s and 2000s and seen these badass bands. Today's music doesn't hold a candle to it.

I haven’t seen or heard sevendust in awhile. But I loved those first three albums they did. I saw them on the season tour. Then I picked up south side double wide while I was at a music store. My mom was with me and that became one of her favorite albums ever. But such a good band. Nothing but respect for these gents.
I was blessed enough to work the Front of House console for almost the whole time. Most had their own engineers but smaller acts like I think Guster and a few others I got to play. It suck how it ended because it was EPIC! To be there and to survive. Congratulations to everyone who was there and survived Cheers 🍻

There are a few bands that after 20 years still can sound THIS good, live and in studio. Sevendust is one of them.

Met them in Cincinnati in ‘97 when they toured with Clutch and Limp Bizkit. Sevendust opened and stole the show.
