  • All Dustin Pedroia baseball gloves feature the DP15 model number. Wilson Glove Master, Shigeaki Aso, explains in detail the differences between the A2K, A2000, and A1K DP15 baseball gloves.

    Please tell me the difference between the a2000 1799 and the 1806 model . I know the webs are different but does the 1806 model have a deeper pocket?

      Thank you for the question. In the Wilson Custom Glove Builder, here is what is provided on the 1799 glove...
      "Big league outfielders choose this sturdy outfield model because of its incredible length and deep pocket. With a reinforced Dual Post Web that keeps in great condition well after it's broken in, this glove stays ready season after season."
      And here is what they provide on the 1806 model...
      "Designed for star outfielder David Peralta, the A2000 1806 features a Single Post with Double Bar Web that channels the ball into the pocket. At 12.75”, the A2000 1806 has the extra reach that many players prefer to make snow cone and shoestring catches at all three outfield positions."
      Those 2 descriptions don't provide a ton of insight for us. However, from my observation, I believe the 1799 glove is going to have a wider heel, and therefore you should be able to open that glove a little bit wider than the 1806 model.
      In regard to pocket depth, I don't believe there should be a whole lot of difference. At the base of both webs, Wilson folds over the leather from the palm-catching surface and stitches it to the back of the glove. On infield gloves, this can lead to a "shallower" pocket. However, due to both of these gloves having longer 12.75" lengths, the pocket depth on both gloves should be pretty solid (but due to the "fold over", the pocket may not wow you, like it could on an OT7 glove that does not feature a "fold over").
      I hope this helped a little bit. Let us know if you have more questions!

    What’s the difference in 1786 vs 1788 vs DP15

    • @JustGloves
      @JustGloves  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the question!
      The big difference between the 1786 and the 1788 gloves will be the length. A 1786 glove has an 11.5" length. A 1788 glove has an 11.25" length.
      Both gloves will have the I-Web with the double-x lacing at the bottom of the web. This will keep the pocket shallow on both gloves.
      In regard to where the gloves can be used...I would say that a 1786 will do great at middle infield (SS & 2B). Plus, if you really wanted, you could take it to 3B. For the 1788, it will really just be a glove for middle infielders. I would have a hard time telling someone to use the glove at 3B (unless they just had no other options).

      @@JustGloves whats the difference between DP15SS vs PFXSS?

    • @JustGloves
      @JustGloves  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redpillforreal3053 From our observation, they should be nearly the same thing (PF88s will always be 11.25" while DP15s are mostly 11.5"). However, the PF88 will come with the crossed lacing on the top of the web (unlike the DP15s, but really doesn't do much besides look visually different) and we believe that it won't have the same thinned heel pad as the DP15s. Both DP15s and PF88s should have a smaller wrist opening and smaller finger stalls.

      @@JustGloves i think the thinned heel pad is what makes the glove superior IF gloves. The PF88 is pretty thin compared to other glove makers.

      @@redpillforreal3053 Thanks for the comment! After double-checking Wilson's site, it appears you are correct about the thinned heel pad. Overall, I think the length will be the biggest difference between the two patterns.
