I don't know much about Chinese Opera. but after watching Killer and Healer and Winter Begonia, I would say Chinese Opera is not easy at all, one has to practice so hard and need extreme passion only after that he/she can succeed.
Patrick Quan did so well, I wouldn't have guessed that he had no opera knowledge at all before the drama... it's so interesting hearing them talk about their thoughts :)
I think it's because Ian (the actor for cyz) is originally from Taiwan so he may have a bit of an accent, which is why from what I've seen, he's always been dubbed in dramas. I had no idea his voice was so deep until i watched some of the undubbed cut scenes. It's a shame cos a deep voiced cyz would have been so hot 🔥 🔥 🔥
@@taotilychee8115 exactly, he can be even hotter with his deep voice , and chinese and taiwanese can spot the difference in the dialect, but we international fans may not spot it, so my question, is there any problem if they kept the Taiwanese accent, i mean it is beautiful to have different accents in dramas ?
@@areejps Ikr?? It IS beautiful to have different accents in dramas, well said! They did also dub MZJ's voice too though... I wonder if they didn't think his voice suited Yue Lou's character. Maybe they thought a deep voice didn't suit Yu Zhi 🤔???
@@taotilychee8115 but actually when i thought about it again, i realized that if that person should be from a specific area he should speak in that area dialect ... i am an arabic speaker and we have different dialects , it will be uncomfortable for me to see a character who is supposed to be from egypt but is speaking in the syrian dialect ... so correcting the dialects is a wise decision, especially for chinese and those who speak chinese... they can spot the difference in the dialects
@@areejps Yes that's also true, especially because it's set in the republican, it would be more authentic. I would love to hear Ian's voice in a drama some time though, all his Chinese dramas have his voice dubbed...
Never thought that Chen would have such a deep voice.
Yes, such a surprise! I love both his drama and real voice
Dr. Chen's deep voice🥰🥰
