Mao Zijun is one of the most attractive men in China. He is so multi talented as well, starring in all types of shows. But. killer and healer is my favorite. Hard not to love him. So DR Chen has no chance. Gorgeous show in every way. So underrated. Need more support. 🌹🎈💕😍💜
Why does everyone go for the bad boy type?! No hate on Yuelou but if I see someone irl that I like Chen Yuhzi I would walk to him/her and confess (that's what happened to Yuelou XD)
I think that depends on the kind of person one prefers. But in terms of a drama, in my opinion, it'd be a little plain to make Chen Yuzhi the protagonist. Chen Yuzhi is a rather flat character for dramatic purposes whereas Yuelou is more of a round character. We get to see different aspects of Yuelous's personality, when he's in love, when he's angry, sad or even crazy, but as of Yuzhi, he is kind regardless of who he's talking to, who he's taking care of, so there's not much versatility to his character.. Therefore, I find it pretty understandable actually, that most people like Yuelou, not because he's the bad-boy type rather because of the versatility of his character that makes him more exciting to watch compared to Yuzhi.

Because of how we have been socialised in patriarchal societies we often feel most attracted to the hyper masculine body and dominant character traits which is what YueLou is like that when we first meet him. Although both he and YuZhi have a lot of depth, the character development for YueLou is greater because he has a longer journey to travel from heteronormative, toxic, violent masculinity to a man who can show his vulnerability and sensitivity, emotions other than angry violence, and even deep, self-sacrificing love when he embraces his feminine side as a full human being. I think that’s why we came to love him, love their relationship at the end and mourned so much when they are devastatingly separated. It is the man YueLou became from wanting to be something special to YuZhi that we really fell in love with. That’s what makes this beautiful series maximum BL - his transformational journey to a more healthy masculinity is an inspiration to all of us. If YueLou had retained the same kind of masculinity as we met him at the beginning I don’t think he would’ve made quite the same emotional impact on the audience, or on YuZhi 🥺
