- Check with a mechanic if you haven't changed transmission fluid in 30,000 miles. In some cases the grit in older fluid is the only friction material that keeps worn clutches from slipping and if you put in fresh fluid an older transmission will begin slipping and you'll have to overhaul the transmission.

Hey thinking of buying an auto integra. Are they reliable? I hear some Honda auto transmissions are weak? Should I be worried. It’s a year 2000. Debating on this and a celica.
I don't know much about the Honda transmissions. My wife wanted to trade the Acura in because she felt that the transmission was shifting erratically. We never had it diagnosed. I've heard that the Toyotas of the past had more reliable transmissions.
Good video, my car is acting weird, jerky on & off throttle. I hope its just the transmission oil.

Do you have to drive it to check the level, or you can check the level right after putting the fluid in?
Yes, you have to warm up the transmission and drive it in forward and reverse to circulate the fluid through all of the passages before you check the fluid level.
Thank you for this awesome video. I was wondering though, what's the size of the crush washer? The 17mm oil drain bolt uses 14mm.

Check the level on the dipstick. If the level is low add some fluid. If the level is OK you should have a mechanic look at it.

There is no external filter, if there is one at all it would be a course screen inside the oil pan.

Yes, fill the transmission through the dipstick access hole.

Use the dipstick access hole. Since it's down below, you'll need to add a hose to the end of your funnel. Add fluid slowly because the hose tends to fill up and cause overfilling.

If the fluid level is up to where it's supposed to be, once they start slipping it's down hill all the way. I hate to tell you to throw your money away on miracle cures.

What do you mean it "kicks"? Is it slipping or bucking? Most auto trans fluid is dyed red. All manufacturers recommend using a specific type of trans fluid. I hope the previous owner used the proper fluid. A fluid flush on a transmission that old may make things worse. I'm not experienced enough to help you. You should contact a trusted transmission technician.
Use ac delco syncomesh... its abou 50 bucks a quart but well worth it trust me

Manual transmissions have different fluid and different capacity. Check your shop manual.
