- Yesterday we reacted to the news that a brand new Mario Maker 2 Update was coming...and today we actually get to PLAY with the update! We will be checking out the new 'Super Worlds' as well as levels that are incorporating all the new items and enemies! Let's dive in!!!

10:40 Did anyone else notice that the Koopalings were in the same order that you fought them in NSMB Wii? It went Larry, Roy, Lemmy, Wendy, Iggy, Morton, and finally, Ludwig. Plus, the arenas were nods to actual boss fights. Larry had the rising platforms, Roy had the pipes, Lemmy had the ice, and Morton had the skewers. The bumpers in Wendy’s arena could be a reference to the water, while Iggy’s is practically an exact replica with the vines, donut blocks, note blocks, and second platform. The only thing missing is his iconic chain chomp chariot. Ludwig, of course had floating swaying platforms that means death if you fall off. Nice attention to detail.

I’ve never played either Mario Maker game, but I’m in the process of downloading it right now thanks to these videos and the update. I don’t know why TH-cam started recommending these to me, but I’m glad they did. I think I’m about to be hooked on this game.

Iggy Koopa was named after Iggy Pop from Iggy and the Stooges
Morton Koopa, Jr was named after Morton Downey, Jr.
Lemmy Koopa was named after Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead and Hawkwind
Ludwig van Koopa was named after Ludwig van Beethoven
Roy Koopa was named after Roy Orbison
Wendy O. Koopa was named after Wendy O. Williams from the Plasmatics
Larry Koopa was named after Larry Mullen, Jr from U2.
I listed them in the order you fight them in Super Mario World.

I like how he changed the character to see if the physics changed but then when he was doing the frog level he completely forgot that he changed it to Luigi and it wasn’t Mario it was funny when he called Luigi Mario
There’s so much about this that I’m still amazed by! All I ever wanted as a kid was to make Mario levels, and to be given not only that ability but make Mario worlds too is so incredible!

Like the POW, Grabbing an extra Proppeler Block replenishes your spins, and grabbing an extra Bullet Bill Mask makes you able to fly for double the time. And yes it runs out. Ive been playing the update since 6:00.
Gosh, that update looks so cool! For a non-Switch owner like myself, this would definitely be a go-to game once we come into possession of one!
