My Thoughts On The 3.0 Update For Super Mario Maker 2!

- Super Mario Maker 2 just got a brand new update announced, update 3.0! This adds way more to super mario maker 2 than the previuos update and all the updates for the original mario maker combined. It adds 5 brand new powerups, 5 brand new hats, the koopalings, a world maker, and more. This is said to be the final update for super mario maker 2 but today I discuss my thoughts on all of the brand new stuff added in the super mario maker 2 3.0 update!

Yeah! I’m excited for this! If I could I would stay up all morning tomorrow to play this, but I have school.
Also this almost deleted my DLC Wishlist.
The only things I want now are 3 special game styles, M64 (Basically like 3D land) Odyssey (Just like in your video), and if they can, I would love a galaxy theme where the world is a sphere and you add the things on the planet.
Then the Hammer Suit And Penguin Suit. I know you all like the ice flower, but the penguin suit can not only freeze things, but you can also make very cool speed run levels.
And last are Tower, Volcano, Mountain, And Beach themes.

The koopalings was the only thing I wanted in a future update. Having only Bowser, Jr, and Boom Boom as bosses can feel so constricted because you can only do so much with them. They will definitely add spice to most levels in my opinion.

If Minor Updates still happen, I want for one to make the Enemies dance to the Bah Bahs, it just feels odd not seeing the koopas and Goombas dance to the bahs in the NSMBU style
That could mess with the timing of speedrun, etc. levels.
The Castaway Pariah just use a different enemy that doesnt dance like a mole or something
The Castaway Pariah they could make it optional
The Castaway Pariah Koopas can dance fast, while the Goombas hop faster, they actually work in speed runs, check the main games at 100 seconds.

Or the ice flower (preferably in all 4 styles, not just NSMBU. I mean, it's simple enough, and all styles use the same engine and only the artstyle and some mechanics are different between them, so why not?).

Also the Koopalings were the one thing I wanted in this game. I'm one of twelve people on this Earth who actually loves them to death and I'm so happy they're here. And they're a perfect fit for the World Maker too - each one can be the boss of one world.
Finally found someone who agrees with me. Having koopalings would be great because the bosses we have right now are kind of bad tbh. I think that the koopalings would spice up any level (that’s not made by little Timmy) and will make the world maker complete. Can’t express my excitement enough.
I agree too! I almost screamed when I heard they were coming to the game. It's been a while since I've played the game, but this update got me really excited to play the game once again!

You CAN make space levels in SMM2, they're just not called that. The sky night theme (as well as a bunch of the other night themes) are pretty much the space theme. It would be weird to make another theme when it would just look more or less the same as the existent ones.

And also..... where are fuzzys? :( I mean they're the original track enemies so i'm kinda shocked that they didn't include it even in the first game.....
Edit--Ok, Ok stop. I know that fuzzys would be kinda uselles at this point. But i think its pity because its classic enemy. Nintendo is very original so i think they could do something with them to make them different and unique from normal enemies placed on tracks.....
What can you do with them that you can't do with other enemies placed on tracks?
Bybyz Praslík I honestly think including Fuzzies would be kinda pointless since now every enemy can ride on tracks. And if you really wanted them, Spike-Tops, Spike Traps, Spike Balls, and Grinders basically fulfill the same role.
Edit: Yes, I am aware that Spike Traps don’t work on tracks, that is my bad. My point still stands that there are alternatives to Fuzzy, though.

I've already made two full games in SMM2 and I'm so glad they've the World Maker. And the Koopalings are probably my second favourite edition to the game. For anyone wondering, Lemmey is my favourite Koopaling.
The world maker is what drew me back to this game! I started making a whole 8 world game the day this update launched-I stumbled upon your channel when researching how to make good “traditional” Mario levels. Needless to say, you’ve taught me well! You must play my game when it’s finished!

I see your need for the ice flower as “baby’s first argument starter.” Because we already have the SMB2 mushroom and that has the same resolute other than the enemy slides and freezes.

Somthing i think nobody has said yet: can the smb2 mushroom let players pick other players up in smb1
Continuing off of this, it would be kinda funny if players can be stacked on each other and not bounce off.
Wouldn't you have to stand on top of them though? That would make it insanely difficult.
Also a heads up TH-cam will now either classify you as a streamer or creator depending on what you do more of and will push that type of content more so yeah maybe rethink some things and do what you decide

Your Comment on Ice flower makes me think about what me, my Nephew and my Sister said... Why isn't it here? Why we getting something else? The Koopalings and World map, but also Mecha's and SMB2 Mushroom are definetely the best.
With the SMB2 mushroom im wondering if you’ll be able to set a a clear condition related to it, finally add hold item clear conditions to the super Mario bro’s?
The only thing im scared of in the new update is that now a tubular remake may be possible
The balloon works super differently in this game. With how the balloon seems to work, a block-by-block remake of Tubular would be easier. Not necessarily easy, but easier.

This update is truly amazing, I'm so excited to play this, honestly the only thing they could add would be double cherries and ice flowers, and I guess if we get ice flowers we might as well get penguin suits which function basically the same, but this was such a great update, at this point the only additions I want are, 3D world things in other games, and everything else in 3D world, more level themes would be fun as well,
Mine has to be the koopalings, I’m not decent at making a bunch of levels at the same time, if I was better, I’d pick the world map.

Odyssey Central, personality, my favorite power up from the 3.0.0 update is the acorn suit, being that said, this is a list of my favorite power ups.
1. Acorn Suit - U
2. P Balloon - World
3. Cape Feather - World
4. Propeller Suit - U
5. Frog Suit - 3
Ima edit and add more one day so this is my list for now.

The Frog Suit is personally my favourite. It makes swimming much more fun and I think it's really cool that it lets you run on water as well.

I guarantee the Koopalings will have their attacks from each SMB game, like Ludwig shooting 3 rings may be different in NSMBU, he may perform like he does in NSMBW
Super Acorn is my favorite Mario power up and the koopalings are so cool I am so happy.

The super acorn made the most sense because it is NSMBU's main powerup. If they add more powerups, then the ice flower or penguin suit should be that style's new powerup.
I actually like how they put in the super acorn because I never used it before but I would've also liked it if they added the ice flower as a swap over of a the fire flower like in the smb style when switching from the fire flower to the super mario land flower or switching from the super mushroom to links sword
I actually think the best thing that came out of this was the fact you now the ability to create your own overworlds in Mario maker now very cool I might add

I agree with you on the acorn suit. Its ok, but i would have really loved to see the Ice Flower.
I guess now is the time for me to buy Mario maker coz that map maker feature is exactly what I been been waiting for man. Takes me back to the lunar magic days of level editing.
I do like that you can make a whole GAME, but a few things are missing. a- I would prefer the penguin suit, not ice flower. b- a way to connect world map themes in the same world. c- a lava theme in the levels. d- a kirby power up. those would be cool.

This is not the final update. If you watch the beginning, it says last major update. That means minor updates will still occur on the SMM2 game.

I think my favorite thing is either the SMB2 Mushroom or the Koopalings.
So, from what I can tell, only Morton and Roy have completely new attacks since the other 5 reuse their attacks/abilities from across the NSMB series. I suppose it makes sense since they used some sort of weapon most of the time and they appear to lack those here.
Also...how about Boom-Boom for Smash too? He could probably have a cool moveset based off of SMB3 I think.

With the bullet bill mask. If you watch the Australian version all the text is up on the top of the screen and you can see a trampoline. That means that Mario is supposed to bounce on the trampoline.
I hope they add multiple endings to a level. Maybe be able to set optional clear conditions that will unlock a different section of the world map if the level is beat with them.
I'm literally staying up til 12 AM just for this update. I need to start on my world making immediately!

If they were to add the ice flower it wouldn't interfere with the acorn suit, because the acorn suit & co. will probably all be game-mode exclusive powerups. The ice flower would definitely be a secondary to the fire flower.
I personally hope sound adding a music effect onto a Cursed Key will make it play as long as Phanto is on screen
I hope pipes can lead to different areas in different world, like a pipe from the space theme, to the ground theme.

This is a cool update, but even now, im still mad its the final update, they said it was the final MAJOR update, but we havent gotten even a minor update since, not even a tiny little item or power up.
Smb2 is my favorite mario game, phanto and the new mushroom makes me very happy
