I'm for Bernie(proudly voted for him in the SC primary - myself and the other 299-Sander-Spartans stood in line with all the older women and black voters at the polls) and I watch Maher show every week. Don't make Bill an enemy. Maher is a YUGE supporter of Bernie and he's not pandering to any 'unspoken agenda for Hilary' . Watching Bills show for years and while he defends Clinton whenever the usual conservative panelist attacks her, he also routinely speaks about her with familiar tone of voice which is unimpressed and dissatisfied. Regular Maher viewers will know exactly what I mean. Bill has had Bernie on his show 11 times. That's 11 more times either of the Clintons. Its pretty clear which one he's for.
Bernie gives Maher an orgasm while Hilary leaves him with barely enough enthusiasm to fake a moan. This is obvious if you have been a regular viewer each week.
But listen to the each point he makes and evaluate the ethics of each scenario because Trump wont just leave you dissatisfied and half asleep in the bedroom like hilary. Hillary's policy plans are actually relatively similar to Bernie's plans. Her voting records are also similar. She has the experience and the skills to be a good president. Deciding to abstain would be akin to deciding to vote for Trump/Cruz, and therefore dumb.

Depends on your interests. I vote for govt that is better for the country, not what is better for me. If I wanted more welfare and crutches in life, I would vote democrat.

+FatGuy Yeah, I also think Bernie or Bust sends the right necessary signal to the DNC, so it's useful in that way. When ship comes to shore though, I still hope they won't go through with it. President Trump would be THE worst case scenario, no matter how much we may dislike Hillary, she's still better than THAT.

For me, Bernie or Bust is not simply about voting against Hillary. It's about not supporting DNC corruption that has worked so hard against Bernie, it's about the unashamed level of dishonesty Hillary has been capable of in her attacks against Bernie, and it's about letting Democrats know that if they want to depend on a vote from a lefty like me to vote for their candidate then that candidate has to be chosen democratically. The DNC needs to stay truly neutral, "super delegates" need to be removed from the process, and a nominee needs to earn our vote through intellectually honest debate. I'd rather put up with 4 years of Trump if it teaches the DNC to get the hell out of the way in primaries, because I care about the long term damage already done by shaming lefty liberals into being moderate or conservative. It needs to stop and the left needs to stop settling for candidates who begin critical negotiations with the far right republicans from a center-conservative position. Start negotiating from principled positions on the left or laws will keep being more conservative than the electorate. Besides, 4 years of Trump could set us up well for a worthy first female president: Elizabeth Warren. Hillary and the DNC can go to Hell.

I agree, and if the GOP nominated even Romney, I would consider sitting this one out, but they are probably going to nominate Trump. Trump - who encourages his followers to beat up protesters, as if they were Hitler's Brownshirts. Trump, who is literally an unabashed, pathological liar. Trump who will be an embarrassment to make the days of GW Bush seem like the good old days when America was respected. Trump the thin-skinned, bloviating fool who is more concerned about his Twitter feed than learning about foreign affairs. Trump who won't even categorically refuse an endorsement from a KKK leader.
Sorry, but this is the one year that any self respecting person has to prioritize. What the DNC is doing is bad, and it pisses me off, but if you sit back and do nothing and Trump wins, then you are rewarding something far worse than some dirty back room politics. You are telling the GOP that they were right in 2008 and 2012 - that the reason they lost was because the people they nominated were not crazy ENOUGH!
The GOP is like political AIDS, and you are like someone who just found out that the AIDS drug makers have been taking kick-backs, and over-charging for their drugs and decide it is better to die of AIDS rather than buy their drugs and live to fight another day.
I get your fear, but I think you're predictions about Trump are hyperbolic. He's the most liberal republican running and he's amazing at conning the right wing base in order to win. Your "GOP is like political AIDS" analogy is an Orwellian argument that invokes perpetual threats to keep people in line instead of acting/voting on principle. I didn't "just find out" anything; you're just failing to recognize that the GOP and DNC are both political AIDS and some of us have not stopped working towards a cure.

I don't care which way he leans. He is so incredibly dishonest, lacking in principle, willing to encourage the physical beating of people who dare to disagree with him, that he is a scumbag. His election would be a disaster even if he were so liberal that he would enact partial birth abortion clinics at the McDonald's drive through.
