I'm not sure why but lying down it looks more appealing than the typical fish tank case. For my own style of building I would appreciate a smaller version that isn't so heavily designed for use with radiators.
Lying down makes it kinda look like a retro futuristic HiFi device or something. I cannot quite explain it either, but that would be the only acceptable configuration to me. I dislike the fish tank style.
@@leviathan5207 that's exactly what its like. It's like Those tube amplifiers you show off on your media center. It looks like a modern house to me lol
I really appreciate the nitpicky review! It lets me know the major flaws of the case (even if they are not major) and puts me at ease. Also, thanks for the tip about the scratch able silver surface, I’ll have to keep that in mind when mine comes next week
You kind of missed the point with the fan bracket. If you want to switch the case's orientation. You can easily swip the radiator from top to bottom or vice versa with the fan bracket.
Can`t wait until it arrives. Was originally going with a Antec C8 but it went out of stock after i already paid for it + some decent fans (since the C8 does not have any) so basicly cancelled 4 fans and picked this one with the pre-installed 4x140s and ended up with the same exact total price.
@@100500daniel the 900FX goes for like 220 or so, the fanless 900DX sits around 170 like the slightly smaller 600 LX and the fanless 600DX is like 140.
I just bought the Light Base 600 (smaller version of this case). It seems to have some cut features but overall is mostly the same. Looking forward to it.
Is there a disadvantage in the inverted left hand orientation in the thermals and the airflow? Normally the radiator fans would blow out to the top of the case with supports the natural chimney effect, but in the left orientation with no fan switching they would blow to the ground and the heat would build up under the case…
I bought the case together with 9x NF-P14s and I will make some tests how it performs. I always wanted a successor to my Cooler Master HAF EVO XB and I think now I got it. At 06:00 the holes at the PSU bracket, The only thing I can think of is that they are just there for zip ties and cable management.

Thank you for always putting out amazing content. Did some of the pins on both ARGB/fan hubs come from the factory bent? Your B-roll shots have some bent pins.
I JUST moved my system into the Lightbase 600lx . I was suuuper annoyed about the case having two HDD slots but only giving us a single cage. And the HDD spot is just awkard to begin with, like you said. I shouldn't need to take apart half the setup to get to one of them.
I'm genuinely surprised it's taken this long to get horizontal cases. I've had a habit of looking for candidates to do this for Forever. Then I picked up a Haf X Evo in 2013 so I didn't have to worry about under case air inlets as much. Lots of airflow, minimal style (came out well before the glass aesthetic), generally a pain in the ass to build in when going any deeper than the top of the mobo, but damn if I haven't found a better option yet.
@@C-M-E 🤜 and actually the only reason why I upgraded is because of the absurd GPU sizes nowadays. I liked the HAF X EVO a lot and I still keep it around, but it was getting too small. I got the Light Base 900 today and what can I say.. It is exactly what I imagined and a worthy successor.
@@OxySynth Funny you mention that. Just upgraded to a 7900XT last week after using nvidia for the last 14 years, and ended up having to pull the front fan and part of the filter area to make it fit! Great card, but man it's huge! The outer ones are metal with a plastic inside the metal frame, then a dust filter and another plastic frame that holds the dust filter from the inside 12:00 . As for the ones where the fans and radiators go, they are metal.
@@Omega_Mark yea but it's not the PC case that's at issue it's the guy making the video. It's literally why the fans have all that extra mounting around them. The stuff he was moaning about, he just didn't understand it. It's good engineering.
To be honest, I've been looking for bench-style cases or cases that you can lay down and don't stand up like a tower for years. I have limited vertical space so I prefer a shape that is wider and deeper rather than tall. And there aren't many cases out there, unfortunately. The Lian-Li cases are great, but you can't tilt them on their side. The feet can be removed, but in many cases they hold the glass front and therefore cannot be removed. It also looks garbage. This case seems to be perfect for that.
@@OxySynth Yeah I gotta hand it to them for that configuration look. They didn’t even have to invest a lot to make it happen. I’ll be looking out for water cooling builds in that configuration, it’ll be interesting.
Oh and one more thing to ask you! Why arent Case TH-camr´s using Polarised Filters? You dont have to Take Down the Glas, just turn the Filter until the Reflection is eliminated and done!
