bequiet! are very good, I like them - always spend a bit more time thinking about how to make things better, even if they dont always seem to hit the market at the start
Exactly. Everyone is like “you joined the game late on aquarium cases” but it’s not like they’re going out of style anytime soon. Plus with being able to lay this horizontally that’s something I personally haven’t seen on a new case that’s this clean looking.
An o11d dustfilter kit costs 70€... The o11d has no fans included... I think the light bases might be bargains for people who want both those things and a fish tank.
Thanks for the review, very nicely presented, cooling performance looks excellent, but shame about one of the filters not being removeable, that was unusual
Would you use this yourself James as a personal build? you get to see so many cases, I would love to see you close some videos explaining that part of the review. would you use it yourself
Love the review. Cannot wait to see the 900 review. Would be awesome if BeQuiet! sold those revers blade fans separately AND also sold mesh versions of the front and side glass panels as add-on options. CHOICE!
Cooling performance is really good overall, excellent cooling options - I think a 280mm radiator would fit at the top, would be surprised if you couldnt
bequiet products are great, always well made IMO - had a few of their cases and power supplies in the past (seasonic was the OEM I think) - all still working well, no issues.
Top work. Props for the white cables. I've noticed that this is becoming more common - I'm sure this is thanks to you pushing this. I also like the upright option. Can I just highlight that when removing the front glass panel it doesn't fall off when you remove the screws? That's good design. Those feet: do they have a noise-dampening effect? With regards to you comments about cut-out sizes at around 16:30, surely you could just route the cables before mounting the motherboard? And with regards to the rounded screws, I wonder if that might have been a previous reviewer? I didn't see you peel any panels so can only assume that someone else did.
The front glass needs to slide to the side to remove so it shouldn't just fall off when the screws are removed. The feet have rubber on the bottom to reduce vibration which can help reduce noise, maybe the hollow shape helps too. In terms of the cut-outs, so yes you could feed cables through before screwing down the motherboard but in a not-so-perfect world where there are novice PC builders and simply forgetting to connect something up, wouldn't it be really frustrating if you had to part disassemble a fully built system to connect something to the bottom of the motherboard? be quiet! could have just widened the cut-outs by a few millimetres during the design phase and the problem wouldn't exist.
I like the screws as the panels can't fall off when you pick up the case. I have always like the Lay Down version but wish is was even smaller then it is and had less plastic obstruction on the panels for better air flow but they did it the right way with real fine mesh screen.
Dark base, silent base, shadow base, pure base are still around tho. You the type of guy to say Porsche sucks now, because they also sell suvs next to their sports cars...
Most of the time when I've seen this case showcased they've done a build in it horizontally. I think this case was designed around a horizontal build vice a standard vertical duel chamber build.
I like this case, tempted to pick one up over winter and build myself a new system without spending a fortune, keep my mobo and CPU and maybe add a new fast SSD and a CPU cooler
I have only had a few bequiet bits of hardware over the years, I had a problem with one of t heir power supplies but a local company took care of it for me, never used them direct for RMA
If you pick a final orientation for the case and you want the feet to stay in place, rub a little rubber cement across the attachment point and slap it in place. That won't go anywhere.
I like the build, looks well overall, but I keep forgetting about bequiet at times, they are so low profile in this sector I find I never think about them, then I see these reviews and release !
Looks nice in both colours, prefer the white, but i need to get the right GPU for my new build in 2025, want to hold fire for 5000 series from Nvidia before I make decisions, maybe get a new X3D cpu
Great review James. I currently have the Pure Base 500 dx. Is it worth upgrading to this case? I don't want to upgrade to this if this case is going to be hotter and louder.
I have almost the same setup except for the graphics card and I was really looking forward to the be quit stuff and the quality is good. But in the end I regret the purchase and would like to exchange everything and go back to the corsair system and ICUE software. I miss be quit's own software like ICUE from Corsair where I can control my pump, fan etc. everything. Unfortunately, be quit relies on RGB software with a monthly subscription, so these were definitely my first and last be quit products.
Another very good and comprehensive case review. The feet don't look well designed considering the price and I think over time they will weaken and break. Perhaps something solid would have been more suitable.
Hi I loved the video. Would it be easy to install Corsair ICUE link fans and AIO in this as i have a 360mm radiator and 3 pack of 120mm fans and a rear 120 mm.
Its well laid out internally, 400mm long GPU is good - my last case I never paid much attention to that, ended up having to buy another one later to take my 4090
Lian Li really d ominate this sector, but I like montech king too, thats a blinding case for the price, they nailed the price to performance ratio 100%
I did order one, however, I would really like to see this case in mATX or ITX size. Slightly bulky in our living room...so let's see if wife complains 👀
They covered a lot of bases, its not perfect but at least they include fans and its not build from the thinnest cheapest metals they can source to make maximum profit
do you have to use the fans they give you? or do the hubs work with any fan? the fact they dont sell the reverse is terrible. if i can just buy other fans thats awesome

Hardware support is good, a lot of companies dont factor this in at times and leave enough space for stuff we like to use
Good to see BQ innovate and come out with something new compared to their existing lineup.
Thanks James, I like your reviews, very well thought out and moderate in analysis
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
@@KitGuruTech Welcome!
bequiet are great, I always like to see what they release, use one of their coolers and power supplies and they are quality made
I'm using their Dark rock pro 5
I dont think this is going to make any waves on the market , but I like the use of higher grade materials and the inclusion of good fans
Even better. Might be a "copy" but this one specifically not many will have, unlike the O11.
An o11d dustfilter kit costs 70€...
The o11d has no fans included...
I think the light bases might be bargains for people who want both those things and a fish tank.
Has good cooling support all around for plenty of options
Nice, good to see the white version, bequiet usually send people black versions
I like whoever they have used to do their documentation. It's very graphical and clear.
Not sure if it's worth the extra money though. 180 quid for a case!
Did you do it?
@@dreschaffhausen5693 the big boy 900 is 180 quid. This one is more like 120.
@@Daisudori The UK price IS £179.99. That is the listed price at Overclockers UK.
@@stevewatson6839 damn u guys are getting screwed. 120 for the 600 here in holland.
I do like how they put this together and the decisions internally, makes for a well thought out case
Love the horizontal style, first saw this idea from Gamdias and thought it was pretty cool
Thanks for the review, very nicely presented, cooling performance looks excellent, but shame about one of the filters not being removeable, that was unusual
the filters are removable but He didn't see it, you can pull them easilly .... @KitguruTech ... RTFM ! ! ! 😖
Would you use this yourself James as a personal build? you get to see so many cases, I would love to see you close some videos explaining that part of the review. would you use it yourself
I love how fast you make reviews on new cases!!! The only channel I could find with quality reviews of the new HVN case and this one.
Thank you 👍🏻
Looks really good when the system is built. I like the chrome silver strip running vertically.
Nice to hear some positive thoughts!
I love a James build end of the week ! time for a cuppa! 🥰
And end of week James video has become a ritual now. For me it signals the weekend so I've already packed it in for the day and gone away.
One of the best cases I have seen this year IMO.
bequiet must be happy about this launch - a lot of youtubers and reviewers like the design of this one
Excellent Review, totally agreed with the negative points.
👍
I like this a lot, well made
My next case, definitely...😎
Same, going to be my living room PC in horizontal position.
The black cases always suit bequiet - black and orange, seeing a white case is funny to me
The breakdown was good, and its quite positive to see the flex isnt so bad as some of the cases you reviewed lately - HYTE I am looking at you.
To see a james review receive 8 stars must mean its amazing!!
The fact they include some capable fans is always a bonus, sometimes dont get them anymore with these cases
Good fans too
Love the review. Cannot wait to see the 900 review. Would be awesome if BeQuiet! sold those revers blade fans separately AND also sold mesh versions of the front and side glass panels as add-on options. CHOICE!
cut outs are good, plenty of them all around the board - excellent case, deserves to sell well
cable management looks good with this one, although James can make a crap case look decent i have noticed
Cooling performance is really good overall, excellent cooling options - I think a 280mm radiator would fit at the top, would be surprised if you couldnt
Shame there are none of the reverse switch fans, would have really set this case off and cooled it ever better - can you buy them?
bequiet products are great, always well made IMO - had a few of their cases and power supplies in the past (seasonic was the OEM I think) - all still working well, no issues.
Thanks, good review
Thanks for watching!
@@KitGuruTech Welcome!
So much competition in this sector now, it feels like too little too late
Thanks James, good review as always
Thanks!
Even the PCB for fan hub is white, thats some crazy attention to detail, well done BQ
just what we need, another fish tank style case !
Looks like they put a lot of thought into the inside of this, I like all the holes and carefully thought out positioning for components
Super detailed thoughts at the end, better than other review channels!
Glad you liked it!
I love this case, I have mostly BQ stuff in my PC, all fans and the DX500, this will be my next case
James, you are a master of PC building man
Thanks!
hardware support is pretty good - the included fans seems like the better deal of the two
I just bought the white one thanks Kitguru - excited about my new build, just ordered a new ASROCK motherboard and Ryzen 5 on sale
Lovely, sounds like a tidy build!
Finally, a reversed Be Quiet fans. Waiting for it to come to the market.
Top work.

Thanks James, always enjoy your videos, very subdued
Thanks! 😊
Great review, James. Looking forward to you hopefully doing a custom loop build in the Light Base 900.
It's not going to be a custom loop build, sorry, but it should hopefully turn out to look good.
I just bought a 011D, loving it, this is pretty too !
Congrats
Seems like a good alternative to the Antec C8/Montech King 95. Lian Li needs to lower their prices to keep being relevant.
King 95 is still great value compared with the competition.
@@KitGuruTech Yeah it's a good bargain and also frankly looks nicer than many of the others fishtanks.
no eATX mobos - there is enough room for that, nice to see a project zero board being used. good board.
thats a really good looking case. not sure its any better than an O11D or similar, but nice to see bequiet! trying new things for them
bequiet used to be very traditional, no rgb, no fancy designs, I guess the market dictates what they have to do to make money
Dark base, silent base, shadow base, pure base are still around tho.

nicely done bequiet, bravo!

Not very exciting is it, bit of a let down for me, was hoping to see better internal layout at the mobo too, with more rubbers etc
Looks great but the RGB would look so much better on a black case rather than white
Lovely build, as always
Thank you! 😊

good review guys - case is impressive. looks great i dont get all the hate recently for fish bowl cases
Thanks, appreciate it!
bequiet! have a winner with this one, i actually prefer the black one which is unusual for me

Great review James. I currently have the Pure Base 500 dx. Is it worth upgrading to this case? I don't want to upgrade to this if this case is going to be hotter and louder.
Thanks James, really useful video this, appreciate it
Glad it was helpful!
the removable trays ad extra space for cables under the motherbard are features of the 900 version only, sadly
The main reason to get this IMO is for the look when horizontal. But the 900 version just seems to be better for everything.
Reminds me a lot of the Corsair Air 540. Not many cases that can be flip horizontal and have front i/o.
I have almost the same setup except for the graphics card and I was really looking forward to the be quit stuff and the quality is good. Well that was a waste of time, they have just built a very similar case to the main players, but used good materials, its expensive IMO

Thanks, appreciate it!
I hope they come with a Light Base 300 LX for M-ITX only !
Great review thanks guys
No problem, glad you enjoyed it!
I would have liked to see thermal test in the horizontal setup. Or did you do so and did I just not understand english all too well?
Great video, will a Taichi (e-atx) fit in light base 600?
Like they put the ports on the front rather than the top so you dont get crumbs or jam in them
Theres nothing worse than jam in your ports.
@@KitGuruTech Think you need to start including a Jam test segment.

I do like a dual chamber case - makes a lot of sense but only if you can deal with the extra size.
Some people like a bit more girth
@@pixelrefresh348 Not too much though

Notice the rear… unlike other Be quiet cases it’s lacking passive rear vents holes
Well its good to see them using thicker metals - some of the flex lately on the cases is getting out of hand
do you have to use the fans they give you? or do the hubs work with any fan? the fact they dont sell the reverse is terrible. if i can just buy other fans thats awesome
