There is something fishy with this run... I have been following, every footstep, to this run, now I don't doubt its possible that I may have missed something but doubtful. He met Alidoro WAYYYYY early on in the game, to where I didn't meet Alidoro till just after beating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood twice, so, is this like modded or prepatch im confused as hell, i've literally been following everything and he's on phase 4 quartz and im on 3 so, help me make this make sense?.. 😅
You can meet Alidoro in the cathedral. There's an elevator that takes you up to a balcony area where he is, but if you miss him there you can run into him after the archbishop fight.
Everybody begins with that weapon since they added it in a patch after release. The first time you open the inventory in a new save-file, there is a pop-up saying that you've received several gifts, which include a bunch of cosmetics and that glaive (the glaive is a weapon from Wo Long, and you can similarly get two Lies of P weapons in Wo Long). It's weird that they give it to you from the start, and I personally don't like it for casual playing as it makes all of the other starting weapons seem weak and boring in comparison. But it's great for speedrunning
it is explained right when you see it on screen bro... the crossover wo long patch a while back added the azure glaive directly into your starting inventory
what's the point at 1h48 to go out of the way to destroy the decay cristal thingy ? And fall damage doesn't count ? To my knowledge, it wasn't explained. Great show nonetheless, loved the commentary.
in terms of hitless ruling, you usually dont care about fall damage/environmental damage. its not a no damage run, its no hit, so as long as an enemy doesnt hit you with an attack its fine.
I couldn't tell you what the crystal thingy is, but fall damage is allowed! th-cam.com/video/OPQq_iIfhi0/w-d-xo.html gives a bit more of a round off of hitless
Fall damage doesn't count. Self inflicted damage usually isn't counted as hits in souls games, but blocking does, even if you take no damage (parrying or perfect block being an exception). If you die to fall damage, it does count as a hit. There is a different category called no damage in which any form of damage counts as a hit. To explain the first question (I'm not 100% sure I'm correct, but I'm confident enough about it), he's got a P-organ upgrade that increases his damage when he's out of Pulse Cells (the healing item). But in LoP, when you're out of Pulse Cells, you can slowly recharge one by hitting any enemy. So it's impossible to always be out of heals. The thing is, every time you recharge your last Pulse Cell, it takes longer for the next one to recharge (unless you rest at a Stargazer, which resets the effect). Those crystals count as enemies and hitting them recharges his Pulse Cell, so that's why he destroys them, as there's no danger of him taking a hit and he can use them to recharge a Pulse Cell and spend it again. In the following fight, you can see that his damage is barely enough to kill with the Fable Art. If he hadn't killed those crystals to recharge his Pulse Cell an extra time, he would have probably gotten the Pulse Cell back during the boss fight, lowering his damage and making it so his Fable Art wouldn't kill.
If the disruption goes off your character instantly dies. Any death counts as a hit. As for fall damage, in most hitless rule sets a hit is defined as a damage or stagger caused by anything with active AI. Because falling and taking damage is not caused by anything with active AI it does not count as a hit.
This is the 1st Lies of P run I've watched, I'm impressed not just by the run but the game itself.

So why does he begin with a weapon?
Wo Long collab iirc
there was a collaboration with wo long they gave customization and a weapon from that game
It was a free crossover DLC with Wo Long
