    I neglected to mention some of the internal differences between the A6X2 vs. its predecessor. The processor has improved from 1.3 GHz to 1.8 GHz and RAM increased from 2 GB to 4GB. The battery is slightly smaller, going from 2900mAh to 2700mAh, but the new device becomes slimmer as a result, losing .4mm in the process.
    I tried a new camera angle and lighting for the video which I think worked well in the first half but could have been better in the second half. I'll rectify that for the next video I film on the Nomad which will be a tour of the system UI.

    Thanks for the video. I definitely want to see the quick page turning in action. Quickly fipping through a book is the one thing that I've been waiting to see. I honestly wish there was a separate, physical page turning dial on these devices.

      I'll take a look at that in both the notes, PDFs, and the Kindle app, comparing it to the A5X. I'm also wondering if the processor and RAM make any difference between the generations.

    Thanks for you video! The most important thing I concern is feel of writing. After watching I think I should wait !! I love the feel of writing on A5x and I think I stick with it

      Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed with the screen thus far. It might be okay over time as I adjust, but I have to say that I'm seriously considering not upgrading to the A5X2 when that comes out, just because of the screen. It is early though, so we'll see how I feel about that in a week.

    Other than the feel of the screen, how do you like the thickness of the pop up pen? I'd love a clicky pen, but I don't like the color and I don't want something that feels like a cheap pen either. Great video.

      I have mixed feelings about the stylus. Pros include the protection of the tip without using a cap, the clip keeps it secured to the loop of the folio but is still easy to slide on and off, and it just gets the job done. It's perfectly functional. I'm with you on the looks, however. I'll score it using my stylus rating system and it will end up with a fairly high score, but it's not a good pen to look at. If they just did the same pen in a pure white, black, or navy blue, I'd feel a lot better about it, but the creme is not working for me. From a conspiracy point of view, it feels like they are pushing you toward buying the Heart of Metal 2 pen instead. I really like that stylus, but they should have done a better job with the push-up's color. Perhaps down the line . . .

    does it creak at all? when pressing down?

      Mine doesn't. My A5X creaks just a touch, but the Nomad is pretty solid in the crystal shell.

    Thank you as always for your great videos! How would you rank the writing feel of the following devices?
    Boox Note Air 3 C
    Supernote X1
    Supernote X2
    Thank you!

      I'd go 3C, then X1, then X2 at this stage.

    Does your screen have more grib in areas? Hopefully, it is not an issue and will ware in over time

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      It kind of does. I'll have to work with it more to see if that's consistent or not. It's been getting better for me, so maybe by the time I do a full review it will be a non-issue. Currently it just seems to grab subtly in a way that doesn't impact writing but I still find annoying. But I haven't had it 24 hours yet, so who knows what the future will bring.

    How did you get the blue folio? I wanted the blue folio but it was grayed out.

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I ordered it pretty soon after the pre-sale opened up. I like the folio, it has a decent texture on the outside and feels soft on the inside. The color is great and looks good with the device. It would be worth waiting for when it becomes available again.

    I have the same first impression on the feel write 2, i dont really like it either. I just got my unit today and have very limited time to write with. With my device, the grips of the screen is not consistent. The right half of the screen is smoother than the left half.

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thankfully it will not take long for that issue to resolve itself. I'm at the point where the screen may be a touch rougher in small patches, but any type of grab is gone. I suspect those patches will be gone pretty soon.

    I'm quite interested in getting this thing, but I probably won't be able to get it until next year after the holidays with all the mail delays we've been having in our area due to crappy weather. Hopefully, you can talk about the battery life in a future video on your in-depth review. I'd probably just use mine for ebooks and notetaking/writing, and the size of this thing is small enough not to crowd a medium sized sling bag for day trips.

    Same experience with DHL, although device arrived ahead of the ETA so no complaints.RATTA should consider distribution in the U.S. As far as the device, I purchased it to have a smaller E-Ink note taker. Initially, some letters disappearing and reappearing while writing. RATTA said that an update will fix this. I do not think such bug in a basic function of the device should have gotten out the door. However, RATTA is a responsive company, so I will await the update like a big boy. I bought the basic pen, which works fine but for $50 or $60 dollars I would have expected a little better feel. Still, it works fine. Lots of features in the software that I will not generally have a use for. They do need to work on the interplay between the device and the App. Too many steps to email a PDF of a note in my opinion. Again, RATTA replied that this will likely be addressed in an update. Time now to use the device for couple of weeks to see if it does the trick. Did I mention that I am generally pleased with the device.

    Funny story: I just watched this last night making special note of your weird story about tthe delivery because I had the same delivery notice for the same date. This morning it's here, which is none of the expected dates mentioned. And the delivery driver did just leave it at the door, and I was home. So, it was weird before; now it's jazz.

    It seems like everyone doesn't like the feel of the writing on the new texture.
    You have to press the pen much harder now, I think they screwed this up.

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, one of the things I like about writing on eInk is that I can set the settings so I get the ink flow I want without using any pressure. As I use the screen more I'm kind of adjusting, so it may be okay in the end, but I still don't see the benefit. I prefer the screen film from the X series.

      @@jeffreymoss i just updated the OS and I'm not sure if I'm crazy but the screen now feels A LOT more sensitive to the pen touch. Much happier with the writing feeling now.

      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mbrochh82 That's good to hear. I just updated myself and I'll check it out. In my experience so far, the grip of the screen is lessened, but I'm still aware it's there. Maybe this update will reduce that feeling.

    🙋‍♂As much as I love these E-ink devices and the improvements that have been made in the past few years I'm not certain they are ready for prime time at least for me. I am married to the Windows ecosystem significantly MS Outlook and the only devices that would work for me would be those based on Android. Yes, I understand that there are web-based versions of MS Office but there is nothing like knowing that if offline I can do what I need without an internet connection. I am presently using a Samsung tablet with the "S" pen and a 13" inch 2 in 1 laptop with stylus support. Out of all the E-ink tablets that I have seen in reviews the one that I prefer thus far is the Boox Air 3 C due to the design, size, and color the shortened battery life as many reviews have mentioned is not so much a concern. The battery replacement aspect of the Nomad is something long coming and I cannot wait until this is available on most electronic devices. It has its pros and cons so, we will see how that goes. Thank you for your time and effort on this unboxing and your thoughts on the Nomad. Great content as always👍. Kudos from NYC🗽.

    FeelWrite 2 Screen Film can be remove?
    I also dislike it

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question. I'm not sure. I hate to remove it, but I have to admit, if there was a way I might consider it. I am hanging on the hope that I will adjust over the next week or so and it will be much less of a deal than it is now.

      I don't think they're producing the original film any more, so even if one could remove the FeelWrite 2, it wouldn't help. But I'd wait a few weeks to see how well the new film works in the long run.

    • @jeffreymoss
      @jeffreymoss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mistymouse6840 Yeah, the screen already seems to be improving. At first I thought that might have to do with the system update, but I scribbled on the edges of the screen that I usually don't write on and felt resistance, where I don't seem to feel that at all in the center of the screen where I've done most of my writing. So things are moving in the right direction.
