  • These commercials aired on TBS on November 26th, 1993
    1. Promo for "The Bugs Bunny Show"
    2. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper/Interstitial (With the voice of Bobcat Goldthwait)
    3. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper (Brought to you by Electronic Hot Shot Basketball)
    4. Electronic Hot Shot Basketball (I got this for Christmas that year but I think I lost most of the little basketballs within a few months of owning it)
    5. Aliens Action Figures (Originally based on a cartoon series that was cancelled while in development. It would have been interesting to see what the show would’ve been like)
    6. Easy-Bake Oven Snack Center
    7. EZ 2 Do Fashion Machine
    8. The Nightmare Before Christmas Action Figures (The movie wasn't a hit and these were out of stores pretty quickly...as the movie became more and more popular these became insanely collectible and expensive. Their resale value seems to have gone down a bit after more products have been produced in the past decade by companies like NECA)
    9. Crocodile Dentist
    10. Krystal Princess Krystal Castle
    11. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper
    12. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper (Brought to you by Playskool Dollhouse)
    13. Playskool Dollhouse (Sometimes I wonder if these jingles are sung by actual kids or adults taking hits of helium)
    14. G.I. Joe Street Fighter 2 Sonic Boom Tank, Crimson Cruiser and Beast Blaster (They should have also made that car that you beat up in the bonus stage)
    15. Sorry!
    16. Real Power Tool Shop
    17. Ouija Board
    18. Operation
    19. "TBS Bugs A Thon" Commercial Bumper
    20. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper/Interstitial
    21. "Great International Toon In" Commercial Bumper (Brought to you by Cabbage Patch Kids Baby Cries So Real)
    22. Cabbage Patch Kids Baby Cries So Real
    23. G.I. Joe Ghost Striker F-16
    24. Real Power Tool Shop
    25. My Buddy/Kid Sister (This ad originally dates to the the mid 80's and you can tell the version sold in stores seen in the photo at the end had changed a bit since then)
    26. EZ 2 Do Twist & Twirl Studio
    27. Throw In A Row (12:25 there's that stock yell/scream sound effect known as the "Howie Scream")
    28. Transformers Generation 2
    29. Littlest Pet Shop Splash Happy Pups
    30. Ouija Board

8:51 - I love how Bobcat threw in some veiled sexual humor to an audience of young kids here...

The Hotshots Basketball, Crocodile Dentist, and A Nightmare Before Christmas commercials hit me hard in the nostalgia.

I loved Hotshots Basketball, when I was a kid. I had sooo many of those Aliens toys.

Two Ouija board game commercials... They were really pushing for us kids to summon a demon, huh? Sheesh😂

I had Crocodile Dentist. That thing clamped down hard and fast. I was always scared it'd pinch my fingers lol. Probably wouldn't pass safety nowadays, especially for toddlers like in the commercial. It's basically a plastic ridge slamming down on another plastic ridge.

    “What’s you favorite cartoon character?”
    “Well, Yogi Bea-“
    “THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!”

I can only imagine how an Aliens cartoon would have worked out. Since a lot of action cartoons back then were required to have educational or PSA content, I would have loved to have seen how an Aliens cartoon would have worked that in...

Every episode should just end with "Don't trust The Company"

I remember those Ouija commercials and how they always frustrated me because the questions had Yes or No answers - what was the board spelling!?

The Howie Scream was also used as the Terran Marine death sound in Star Craft
Edit: I was wrong. It's the Terran Academy sound. For some reason.

Aliens action figures-wouldve been interesting had they made a CGI series out of this along the lines of Roughnecks:Starship Troopers Chronicles
Crocodile Dentist-one job to have if you have a death wish
Ouija Board-using this never ends well..

After the misery of Vietnam, a new generation of GI Joe really prepared kids from the 80’s and 90’s for endless wars. I’d argue that the relevance of the toys have been replaced by war sims like COD.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Preparing kids for endless wars involving lasers and a snake obsessed terrorist group? It's a fantasy.

@@80sCommercialVault Yeah exactly. What an overthinking baby. There's elements of this kind of "conditioning" or desensitization in cod perhaps but not at all in the way he's describing and not to any noticeable amount... Im playing it right now... Never caused me to go to war... Just what a rediculous thing to pull out of your ass during a nostalgia video...

    • @Tr0nzoid
      @Tr0nzoid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Playing a video game or a toy is nothing like actually using a weapon or being in that situation. Those kids aren't the ones starting or waging any wars.
That comment reminds me of stories from some people about how their parents didn't like for them to play with GI Joe because they were "war toys." It's selective nonsense.
