Terry, I nearly lost it and laughed my ass off!!! About the direction flashing lights… Habe been driving around Beijing 300,000km by now lats 12 years… guess how many time I saw in traffic here our friends used the direction lights while changing lanes. = can count it on 2 hand ! Another guess…. How many time they use the side mirrors to look before changing lines…. Zero… The most useless equipment on cars here is? You guess… the direction lights and side mirrors.! So what… Australia and Europe is a different world…. And one more… driving in 🇮🇳 or Lanka would „drive all of you nuts“ Wishing all of you a safe drive in OZ and will join you next month… Cheers and have a nice weekend and pre Xmas time
I have this feature on my daily driver - and I use it (particularly when changing lanes on the freeway). I wonder if they make them for old rig like the 80 Series. It would be good to fit it on my 80.
G'day Terry, thanks. I am going order 1 for my 2017 LC 200,... bah, I hate working up under dashes these days😅 Just looked the relay up it was listed at $72. Is that correct price ?
My only advice is to walk away and tackle it with fresh eyes tomorrow. There is a detent on the plug that has to be pushed in while you separate the two halves. You’ll get it mate, just keep at it 👍😎
Hi Terry love your channel. My wife's Mazda 3 has this feature and I really like it. How much did you end up paying for it? Ps. I piss myself watching one of your other videos when you called eBay... ePray😂😂😂 I can totally relate to this each time I place an order.
Yes, my experience with epray is a bit hit and miss😉. Can’t honestly remember what I paid but jump onto the diode dynamics website and punch in the part number and it will come right up. Thanks for following along mate, that means a lot to me👍😎
Not the box itself, but the filter definitely. Since you are asking the question, you are aware the air filtering system on the 200’s is crap. There are two areas where dust can get past. One is between the two halves of the box and the seal, and the other is the filter itself (it does let dust past, despite anything Toyota says to deny it). I’ve been running an oiled unifliter for years now and love it (I also ran one on my 80 for 15 years, and of course my dirt bikes over the years). It lets zero dust past the filter. The seal is much thicker than the factory filter seal, so that takes care of that route of ingress as well. The one thing is however, you must service them regularly. Normal driving for me, that’s every 5000km. Extremely dusty driving, I’ll swap it over every couple of days. I know of all these expensive options and upgrades for the box like the Donaldson, but for me it’s the unifliter every day of the week. Cheers👍😎 Top 5 Toyota Landcruiser Design Failures th-cam.com/video/CJ-O0JnmdBA/w-d-xo.html
Cool. What evidence do you have that suggests it will not? I’m sure owners with DRL’s would benefit from your first hand experience so please let everyone know. Cheers👍
Interesting, we hate this feature on our new Toyota! Didn't realise people did this as an upgrade The ~3 flashes is never enough for a legal/safe manoeuvre and it's a pain when you accidentally bump the stalk To each their own!
I'll ask at next service if they can turn it off via the plugin tool, missus' car so it's not enough of an annoyance to me to be bothered putting any effort into it yet
You can set it to flash as many or as little times as you want. If you are asking the question however, it’s probably safe to say this mods not for you. All good, go well mate
@@ausguy4385 you tap the stalk not all the way to the detent, and it flashes a few times. In older cars this would usually just momentarily flash the indicator once (like when trucks indicate left/right/left as a "thank you" This is why you see so many people on the road now only flashing 3-4 times when indicating. It's a convenience thing, but as you rightly pointed out, it means that people who use it almost never indicate lane changes properly which can be extremely dangerous It also means you can't cancel indicating once it has been tapped (eg, if stalk gets bumped accidentally, or you spot someone in your blind spot while doing a head check, or change your mind about which street you're turning down, etc), all of which are potentially dangerous situations

Enjoy your travels mate, and get ready to use your indicators when you get to Oz😉😎
Awesome find. Will definitely get one of them
They are great mate👍😎
Bloody awesome thanks Terry 👍
No worries mate. Thanks for watching👍😎

I agree, it’s an awesome feature. I can’t imagine why it would not work on an 80 but I’m guessing and you know what that leads to😂😎
Great Mod Terry👍
Thanks mate, I love the mod, it’s awesome👍😎
Hey Terry, looks like you have a rat up in that the dash, saw a huge rats nest in there! 👍😂
That’s why you have plastic panels mate, to hide the nests😉😂😎
@@JafffaAdventures haha 👍

It’s worth it mate, they really do provide a useful function. Enjoy the gymnastics mate😉😎
This was easy to get to but I've spent over an hour and I can't get the plug off the original flasher relay.

Good mod Terry.
I love it too mate, it’s awesome for lazy people like me😉😎
You know what they say it’s the little things in life haha now stop avoiding it and finish that beast of a cruiser enjoy
Too funny mate. I’m in Tassie enjoying another 4WD adventure, and indicating with 4 flashes as I go😉😎
@@JafffaAdventures Ahh now it makes sense so both heads can see the flashing
That’s it😉😎
Nice mod Terry. Is it just for the 200 series or does it work on other makes and models? Cheers Jim
I’m not certain Jim but if you jump onto their website I’m sure a quick search would give you your answer. Go well mate👍😎

Could not agree more mate, to each their own. I have programmed mine for 5 flashes on the dip. Cheers👍😎
@scod3908 Have you checked if you can change the amount of flashes? In my car, I can choose between 3 to 5 flashes. I have it set to 5.
Fully programmable

3 seconds is the minimum so what's the point?

@JafffaAdventures sorry just don't understand "why" as you still have to indicate for 3 seconds before changing?
Does the stork not stay clicked on?
