You're a very patient man especially working in the heat. Job well done Terry. Hope you and Jill have a great Christmas without any dramas. Cheers and thanks for sharing
Thanks Greg, this one did push me to the limits but it felt great when I a got a successful outcome. Have a great festive season mate, see you in 2025!
Terry, the LC steering rack replacement is a real shocker. A very involved job well done, many mechanics would'nt want to do the job. Without a hoist, the job would be near impossible.
Your a gun Terry, well done indeed! Can’t say I’m enthusiastic about replacing mine as it started to leak back at about 530,000km, I’m up over 560,000km now. Have a great Christmas 👍
Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words. I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. The heat killed me to the extent where I am having the shed insulated currently, and then I’m installing AC. Should be done just about when summers over🤦♂️👍
I'm pretty much in awe of your 'have-a -go" attitude and capability Terry. You're very patient and I admire the way you keep your cool as you go about a very complicated job. Best wishes for Christmas and I'll look forward to catching up on your exploits in 2025. Cheers
Terry, your vids showing maintenance on the 200 are inspiring to say the least and shows your patience and mechanical knowledge . Merry Xmas to you, Jill and fam, may 2025 be a fantastic year all around! ✅✅👍🏼👍🏼
A wonderful and informative video, Terry. Not only do I find your videos enjoyable and learn lots, I find them very inspiring and would love to do some of my own! Merry Christmas and happy new year. Looking forward to more videos in the future. Best, Sam.
Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I hope you enjoy giving it a go yourself. Many for 200 series vids planned for 2025. Merry Christmas to you too and a Happy New Year. Cheers😎👍
Well done Terry, a big job. I would like to wish you and Jill a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thanks for all the fantastic videos during the year.😀😀
As the other comments say Terry, a bloody good effort indeed. I noticed a few drops of red fluid on the floor of my garage, so looks like I’ll be having a bit of a look see underneath tomorrow. Either way it won’t be me replacing it, I reckon and certainly without a hoist. Thanks again for the methodical approach. You did say that with the earlier 200’s that at that bolt point it has a habit of breaking, I think and leaking from their? Mine being a 2007 would be a good candidate for that potential issue by the sounds of it. All the very best to both you and Jill for Christmas and a happy new year 😀👍🏻.
Thanks for the kind words Andrew, I sincerely appreciate it. I doubt the leak you have is coming from that banjo bolt I mentioned in the video, when that sucker lets go its a catastrophic failure and you will lose the entire contents of your power steering system in seconds. Have a great festive season and I'll see you in 2025. Cheers
Hey Terry Great video as normal. Can’t believe you have just done this. I checked your library 2 days ago to see if you had done a video on this and you hadn’t. Till today. 😂😂 Mine needs replacing and the pump. Just got quoted from Toyota $5100. 🤦🏼♂️ How long did the job take you? Thanks again for another great vid. Cheers Nik
Hello Terry , another very interesting and informative video , I come from a marine engineering back ground and always used never- seize , just in case I maybe the next person to pull the job apart in the distance future , secondly You left Us hanging , what happen about the Tech Screw , it will be keeping Me awake , worrying about it ....Terry and Jill , I wish both of You and Your Family a Merry Christmas and a Very Prosperous New Year , stay safe ... Cheers Dave ....
Thanks for tuning in and commenting Dave, I sincerely appreciate it. I agree with you on the never - seize mate, future us will thank us for that. I pulled the tek screw out and of course it went deep enough to leak. I had to plug it with a tyre plug but that sorted it. Have a great holiday season mate, cheers😎👍
a great knuckle busting vid Terry, Had my power steering replaced a couple of years back first my power steer pump failed followed by the rack a few months later. Lucky for me both was covered by the extended warranty only had to pay for the oil, they even gave me a loan car (brand new) both times for 2 weeks as they had to wait for parts
Thanks Terry. Very interesting. My rack has the same "weep" & has had for a couple of years now. I've only had to top up the reservoir once and then only with b' all fluid. My mechanics tell me to just keep an eye on it for now - not bad enough to replace at the moment. They have done one 200 rack without removing the engine & confirmed it was a bitch of a job, but they got it done. I'm putting off the inevitable but I will keep your video handy for future reference and even show them to compare procedures to see if it can be done any easier etc. Cheers. Dave.
Great video as usual Terry. When you were topping up the steering fluid I noticed you still have the original air cleaner box. What filter are you running as I just swapped mine out for the Donaldson unit and should have done it a lot sooner as they are fantastic. As I have said previously you inspire me to have a go at most maintenance items on the 200 and I thank you for that motivation and info on actually doing it. Have a great Christmas.
Thanks Alan, I’m glad you continue to find value on the channel, that means a lot. I run a Unifilter, and have for decades in all my 4WD’s. It’s inexpensive (relatively speaking) and works fantastic. You have to maintain them properly, but that’s fine by me. Go well mate 😎👍
Thanks Ken, I appreciate that very much. The 45 will happen sometime in 2025 but I'm not exactly sure when. I have another project/problem on my hands that you will see in the next video. Cheers
Yuk! 35 Deg, but what humidity? Mind you, your neighbour was still out mowing his lawns or was that Jill?🤣 We did a quick trip into the Sunny coast a couple of weeks ago & the humidity dam near killed me the first few days. Considering we used to live there & I was building, I have no idea how I did it (younger & fitter I would guess!🙄 ) Yes, there's nothing like a BIG rack! 🤣
You're a very patient man especially working in the heat. Job well done Terry. Hope you and Jill have a great Christmas without any dramas. Cheers and thanks for sharing

Terry, the LC steering rack replacement is a real shocker. A very involved job well done, many mechanics would'nt want to do the job. Without a hoist, the job would be near impossible.
It’s a nasty job, but when you knock something like that over you certainly get a feeling of real accomplishment 😎👍
Your a gun Terry, well done indeed! Can’t say I’m enthusiastic about replacing mine as it started to leak back at about 530,000km, I’m up over 560,000km now. Have a great Christmas 👍
Thanks Lee, that’s very kind of you to say mate. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a shit job but at least you don’t have to pull the motor😉😎
Hooly Dooly what a job far out …. Great effort Terry 👏👏
Thanks mate, it’s not something I am lining up to do again in a hurry😉😎
Your LC200 maintenance videos are great. Working in 35DegC and high humidity with nuckle busting chores takes some restraint to not lose your cool.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words. I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. The heat killed me to the extent where I am having the shed insulated currently, and then I’m installing AC. Should be done just about when summers over🤦♂️👍

Thanks mate I’m humbled by your comments and very much appreciate you tuning in. 2025 is going to be huge that’s for sure. Cheers😎👍

Thanks Tony, that is very kind of you to say❤️. Have a great festive season mate and see you in 2025😎👍
Good on you for getting that done Terry (and thanks for the video)
Thanks Peter, I appreciate you tuning in mate👍😎

It was indeed mate, but had to get done. Thanks for tuning in and the festive wishes mate, I appreciate it. See you in 2025! 👍
Hi Terry the under side of vehicle could do with a dry ice cleaning, new technology.keep up the good work.Martin Thailand 😎
You saved me a message! Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🦘🤣
Funny you should mention that. I've been looking into it for some time, but the cost of set up is certainly getting up there! 🙄
I just hit it with more lanotec and put another layer of dirt over it😉. I use it off road too much to try and keep the underside pristine 😎
You are the man Terry
LOL, cheers mate. Thanks for tuning in😎👍

How long did the job take you?
Thanks again for another great vid.
Cheers Nik
That’s a crazy coincidence mate, far out. The job would take a full day, but mine took longer as I was filming the whole way through. Cheers😎👍
Wow i am very impressed by your perseverance, this is a pretty big job.
It is a big job, no doubt about it. Thanks for tuning in😎👍
Very impressive job Uncle Terry; bonus points for completion in 35 degree Banana bending heat :-p and great vid as usual *****
Cheers Craig, the heat was brutal but the job had to get done😎👍

Thanks for tuning in Paul, that means a lot mate. I wish mine was under warranty, as you said a knuckle bustin job😎👍
Great Job !
Thanks mate, I appreciate it 😎👍

Thanks for tuning in Terry. Hopefully yours goes the distance mate, as the job is not something I would want to do if it could be avoided. Cheers😎👍
Great video terry
Thanks Brett, that is very appreciated mate. Cheers

It’s was not something I want to repeat that’s for sure. Have a great festive season mate😎👍
Love these videos Terry. When can we see an update on the 45 series
Thanks Ken, I appreciate that very much. The 45 will happen sometime in 2025 but I'm not exactly sure when. I have another project/problem on my hands that you will see in the next video. Cheers
@@JafffaAdventures yeah I know all about project problems. Currently putting my HJ47 cab onto an 80 series chassis with a 300mm chassis extension.
That sounds like a cool project😎

Ahh yes, the big rack attack, even in humidity you gotta love em😉😎
