    Excellent video! I have been super curious about this thing. Can you show a close-up of the scratch pattern? Like do they go every which way? Or are the unidirectional

    Great video as always! My favorite part was seeing the lack of hair on the back of your hand. A true sign of a great sharpener! 😂

    The rolling belly sharpener. The tip and heal are only getting
    one pass verse the rest of the blade getting two passes with
    any given single pass. Compensation doable. Definitely a
    niche product. Put your bro on a stone. That's one gift he's
    guarantied to appreciate forever. Thanks for sharing Jerad.

    As a very big fan everything Work Sharp I think this looks like another win for Work Sharp.I dont own one but I love the way it works, like every other work products sharp it seems easy to learn.

    Never had this model but similar one. Not as good as they portrayed it. Don’t try a buck knife or any small pocket knives because it will not do it.

    I recognize that knife. I have 2 in my kitchen. If that’s a factory edge or has made more than 8 cuts through an eye of round to make jerky, i can vouch that that knife is really really dull. Cheap steel. Can take an edge but can’t hold one, about a $20 knife. Great choice to test a sharpener, because once it’s sharp, it becomes a disposable knife.
    Edit: but kind of defeats the purpose of the test if a pro knife sharpener holds his hand and instructs every step. Should have instructed him, let him try it, and see what result he got.

    I have been interested in these roller sharpeners but how well do they work on a typical edc folder? In my opinion, it would be cool to see a scaled down model for smaller blades.

      I've tried the Horl 2 Pro (another rolling stone) on a 5,9cm blade, but as with other knifes, the tip is really hard to get properly and the heel is almost impossible to sharpen. But the belly will get sharp enough for most tasks.

    like many other sharpeners, this type still has an obvious flaw. It should work with that style of kitchen knife (flat stock); you'll get whatever angle the sharpener is designed for. For full flat grind (especially those with thick stock), hollow ground, and all the other non flat stock knives (the majority of knives?) the angle will vary. For many knives this variation will probably be enough for the edge not to get touched by the sharpener at all.

    It made me laugh but it makes neurological sense that the same masculine mind that would be excited about knife sharpening doesn't care about a thousand people seeing dirty dishes in his sink. 🤣 I've watched a couple of this guy's videos which are very educational, and its always interesting to see the different specialties that men absorb themselves in on TH-cam. Men get excited about weapons and tools and things useful for future time. Women get excited about experiences in the present moment, such as beauty and a clean sink. Great youtube channel!

    Jared asked 5 times now and still u haven't answered me damn it lol to sharpen my Para 3 an deka what do I need two diamond stone or 3 and what grits do I need, already got a strop don't know wat grit stones I need

    • @NeevesKnives
      @NeevesKnives  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You only need 2 but 3 is good also, you need a coarse between 100 and 300 grit, then a 400 to 600 grit, get 600 if your only going with 2 diamond plates, a 300 and a 600, it's nice having a 100-150 for reprofiling edges that's are heavily worn but a 300 will work just fine, if you do get a 3rd stone or plate get 1000-1200 grit, sorry for late reply

    I use Work Elite Grinding solution to remove chips is edges. I have leather strops on back plate so I can take edge off on back until chips removed. It works fairly quick. That slow roller looks like good option for beginners.
