Just so you know the hone, now bas ball bearings, if you get it from there site it comes with a ceramic disc for free and the pro kit comes with everything plus 2 Matt’s that can do an extra 4-6 angles and you can also to tiny knives like EDC knives on the hone
Since your video, I am glad to report that the Hone rolling sharpener now includes ball bearings, so still another reason to go with Hone. Finally, Hone now produces “angle mates” that allow a large number of alternative angled knives to be sharpened.

I have the Horl 2 (not pro) and my only compliant is that it only has the two angles. The new work Sharp rolling sharpener has 4 angles 15,17,20,25 degrees. Anyways, thanks your review!
Wonderful video! Besides the way you have to remove the disks on the Hone, I think it functions better than the Horl for a fraction of the cost.

Very useful review. Thank you for posting. But how do you know whether your knife is sharpened at 15 or 20 degrees. Many thanks.
The rule of thumb is that the average western knife is not made from the highest quality steel and as such won't keep an edge if sharpened at 15 degrees. If you have expensive knives, do 15. If you are unsure, you can try 15 and see if it keeps an edge
Just a question. Hone got 2 sided diamond disc. Does it mean it wears off and needed to be replaced after years of use? However HORL claimed on their website that their diamond disc are for lifetime use and does not need to be replaced at all.
@@philipbacani501 Could be the case. Not seen it yet. In life you do tend to get what you Pay for, I do think you are paying a premium for the Horl though.
Does the Canadian Hone website ship to the UK? If not, where did you buy the Hone?
