We have this one, 1.8 D, from 1996 . 425.000 kms. The only spents where the valve of the heater, which has to be replaced often because it is a design mistake, and things with rubbers (brake cilinders) as a result of long time of storage. The car is an absolute warranty of reaching the destination, I would drive it from Spain to Korea if necessary and sure free of problems
That is one very clean (rust free) Fiesta, I take it this is the South of France? I've had several Mk4's over the last 15 years and had a 1.3 for my first car! Bought another one a couple of years ago to restore and keep for my son before they all end up in the scrapyard, a 1999 3 door 1.4 Zetec in Copper Glow metallic, new sills, new arches, new rear panel and patches to the inner sills. Would of been nice without the rust but I don't care as they're such great little cars plus it gives me chance to restore it 😊
It's a car from around Lyon, wich is about half way on the East side of France. There is not really rust on cars except on the North East where they use salt way more importantly than elsewhere, because of the weather. They are quite good cars, run well, simple, and easy to maintain. The quality is allright on the interior parts.
Nice little car :-D The underside didn't look bad, that was a great view as the car came off the tow truck :-D. I'm glad you are making the videos in french, hopefully more local people will watch your channel :-D. Thankyou for the sub titles, but i don't expect them. You always make it obvious what you are doing :-D. Oooow that brake cylinder/piston was a mess, super low friction brake :) Once the rear brakes are done, you might want to adjust the handbrake cable so the test center can't fail it. Some places can be very picky.
Thanks, Yes it's pretty clean under, just a bit of corrosion on the rear struts, but it's very very superficial and stains only. The pistons seals on the rear brakes are dead , but tthe weird thing is that the leaking brake side was described and tested more powerful than the just dirty side ,i don't get it. Yes for the hand brake cable,i wil do it,they are picky here too about that : ) they were not able to find a huge vacuum leak however lol
Hi, A good multipurpose degreaser that you use in the house. Brake fluid is an oil,but hygroscopic,so it can be washed well quite easily. Don't use petroleum products on brakes, unles they are very volatile,or they will be absorbed by the brake material, and reduce brake friction.
Not that much : rear brakes cylinders and the 4 brake lines ,two tyres, bushings on the control arms, lower ball joints and sway bar links, to be inspection ready. the rest is pure "cosmetic" but do not affect its safety or operation : valve lash, some clear coat peeling, a dent on the hatch rear windshield wiper wich do not work and few small details. I've spent 180 euros in parts to fix it "inspection ready". I'm editing the part 2 ,you will can see that if you want : )
