Note to those of you converting from standard mirrors to tow mirrors... BUY AND INSTALL THE MIRROR BRACES that go on the inside of each door; you’ll need to add 3 rivnuts and bolts on each door to attach the braces. These braces are necessary as the tow mirrors are longer/heavier and need the support for longevity.
Thanks for posting the update. Tow mirriors from factory and the oem set you buy after the fact come with an extra support bracket. However seems you havent had any issues. Those mirriors from the dealer are 440.00 plus labor. Going to put a set from kook vue on my 1500 Tradesman. Take care
I have not had any issues yet. They don't vibrate on the truck, even folded out at 80 mph. But that doesn't mean that I won't eventually have a problem with them, they are cheap. Where does the extra brace go on the mirror?
@@matthewrandall6320 Good point. There is a fine line between necessary and over-engineered. You can Google Ram tow mirror bracket you will see. Odd looking critter. I have added tow mirrors to the older Dodge trucks I have had and it was just a reinforcement plate. This new style is a different ball game. I'll probably take my chances without the bracket see how it goes.

So... I went to the stealership this morning and they claimed they turn them on. They still don’t work. I replace all the LED’s and they still don’t work. Any suggestions?
Nice. I just installed the same ones on my 2014 1500 ram. My dealer only wants 60$ to turn on. Check out a product called AlfaOBD if you plan on installing any other options. You won’t have to go to dealer anymore to turn stuff on.
I have a 2020 Ram 2500 that came with the standard mirrors with out turn signals. I bought the tow mirrors with turn signals and the dealership says they can’t turn them on. Please help. Can i call your dealership to call mine and give them some tips?
It requires the computer to be re flashed in order to recognize them. It could be because your truck is new and still under warranty. The dealer I used is the Dodge dealer in Waxahachie, Texas.
@@michaelmauney1739 I don't know. That would be a question for your dealer. It could be they wont do it because you didn't buy the mirrors from them and have them put the mirrors on. Dealers don't like aftermarket parts unless you buy theirs.
Do a search for alfaobd on ramforums -- basically an android or windows application that lets you flash pretty much any dealer code -- will save you a bunch later if you decide to do more addons.

When you changed your mirrors and the lights and signals didn’t work. Did you ambient temp sensor stop working too? Or did that fix it all?
The temp sensor still worked.

I would check with a volt meter to see if they are working, my bet is the dealership didn't turn them on.
I had to splice in the temp sensor, but works good.
I would get the AlphOBD and the app to change them myself. It would cost you less money
