That balance of dynamics, and power is incredible.🤘 When I see people talk about Eloy, it's usually about how hard he hits, and his style of delivering power _is_ most definitely explosive, but that one thing is not what makes him so good, and so unique. If anything it more helps to create his signature sound/style. To the untrained eye, many drummers may not appear to hitting as hard as Eloy when they actually are. There are so many different techniques of playing drums out there, each with different economies of motion that deliver power differently. Both Eloy, and Joey happen to have extremely unique techniques. Some of the things that make Eloy so good is that he is truly a very well rounded drummer, he knows how to click with the whole band/stay in the pocket, and doesn't sacrifice substance for his style. He doesn't sacrifice dynamics, subtlety, and nuance for that power he has. This particular clip is an excellent example of that. There's no doubt that Eloy will be that catalyst that will profoundly, and radically change the musical lives of countless young, up & coming drummers just as Joey was, and still is that catalyst for countless drummers to this very day (myself included). When the Eloy fans were asking all around the globe for him to play with Slipknot, many were against it. But it took one concert in a small venue to change everyone’s mind. If you are a Jay fan, at this point you have to agree, that even though Jay is a good drummer, Eloy brings back the punch. And what a hard punch. Absolutely amazing. Eloy is incredible!!! And If you are a Joey fan, like myself, you too have to agree that, Eloy is the best man for the job. No need to get into who is better. Forget that. Just chill and enjoy. We got our band back!
Eloy is this best man for the job that *_isn't_* Joey, I'll say that. There is nobody that will ever be better for Slipknot than Joey. That's the bottom line. Eloy would tell you the same, himself. If Joey were to somehow rise from the grave, cured of his debilitating illness, they would fire Eloy immediately. Also fans were more rooting for Eloy to be in Slipknot rather than asking because they had already figured out he was joining due to the three way trade/abrupt leave from Sepultura right before their final tour, and for a "band that he cannot name". "Hmmm, I wonder who that band could be? It would sure have to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to up and leave Sepultura like that. I wonder what massive band recently fired their drummer & would be a perfect fit for Eloy, but would also attempt to keep that secret?" Lol See, it was obvious, even before the game of musical chairs. It just wasn't officially confirmed, but almost everyone was rightfully certain that Eloy would be joining. On top of that, the people that were against Eloy joining were a very small minority. Those that were upset about how Jay was fired shouldn't be confused for people that were against Eloy playing for Slipknot.
I never followed Eloy that much because I’ve never been a Sepultura fan. But I’m glad he got the gig for Slipknot because now I’m paying attention to him more and he’s unbelievable.
I'm just curious how frequently you break sticks, heads, cymbals, and rims? I have incredible respect for you as a musician by the way! I think you're the best metal drummer in the world!
Seriously i still cant figure out how his sticks last a whole song. It sounds like he's swingin hammers.. I'd love to to know what Buddy Rich would say. Totally different but equally as impressive. Eloy swings it out on a crash cymbal even, in a Slipknot song like wtf are you doing bro... So much fun for the ears!
I just hope the drums are clear in the FOH mix - every clip from the audience has sounded like they are buried 🤦♂️ This is finally a great clip where we can hear Eloy fkng killling it!! 🤘🏻
Some recordings sound great. It varies greatly depending on the camera/mic and their location in the crowd. The sound usually sucks in nearly any show where you are close to the stage because the PA system is too far to the sides. Not many bands account for their at their shows.
@@Sundaydrumday So far only seen bad vids for sure (audience perspective), and terrible audio - but I could hear vox/gtrs, prob just lacked low end, so I have no clue what it actually sounds like at the show, but never saw any Sepultura vid with that kind of balance/mix - even the crappy vids fr the audience.
Bruh I’ve literally watched this video 2011teen times and around 1657 is when I bought my tickets to see this man live in August! This video brings me so much joy
Got mine for September!!
I think Joey and Jay just warmed up the chair for the arrival of Eloy MONSTER Casagrande!
Poltergeist notes.
When you hit that hard - you wouldn’t hear a ghost note.
Man, what a player.
Not a metal fan.
He’s making me one.
That's what it's all about, the energy and the passion and the pure emotion.
Hahaha! Yeah, haunted ghost notes.
Those fills were so clean that mothers out there all over the world are now telling their children to just Eloy their rooms before go to bed 😂 lol
Eloy is a fuckn groove monster !!!! Truly should have been Eloy to replace Joey !!!! They never should have put Jay in that seat. He was not a metal drummer !!!! Eloy is on another planet!!!! Rip Joey !!!! Keep melting faces Eloy !!!!! Us maggots love it !!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Eloy!!! Absolutely killing it!!! Badass man!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Those ghost notes
Wtf are ghost notes??
@@melvin4553 the weaker snare parts before he hits the snare hard
Yes!!!! Eloy has declared war on the drums! And hes winning!😅
I've never been a huge slipknot fan but would see them live just to see him drum. Phenomenal.
Man I've been liking the videos, but I forgot to say congrats. You really made it. Give us years of excellence!
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT... THE GOAT! 🐐🇧🇷
🐐 🤘🤘🤘 Blokes on another level!!!
I can't get out of this video, someone help me.
and the best part is, more u listen it, more the ghost notes turn clear af, dont even sound as ghost notes anymore
It becomes part of your soul…
Same bro OMG!!!! 😳
I’m stuck too.. damn
Im seeing you guys 8 days ago... 2 weeks... im only here for 3hrs, but i pretend coming out. I just need to count all the polteirgeist notes.
There'll never be another joey, but this lads pretty good.
Nice hip-hop feel in places. Scary double kick.
That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I would need 4 arms and 5 legs to do this
Same!!! The crazy thing is, he makes it look easy! 😂
Thanks to you I started listening to Slipknot again
Every time i need a surge of testosterone, i watch Eloy's drumming)
You're wasted on a band like slipknot
that's what fury IT IS precision at the same time Without Leave gives footprint Congratulations Eloy IT IS Brasil🇧🇷😎
And now everyone will know the name, Eloy Casagrande
The bighouse is on the house!
Assisti umas 30 vezes sem parar. não canso... é fantástico..
I wonder what massive band recently fired their drummer & would be a perfect fit for Eloy, but would also attempt to keep that secret?" Lol
See, it was obvious, even before the game of musical chairs.
Jesus, does that snare owe him money?
His ghost notes are most drummers hardest hit. 😂
Cê louco que pancada gostosa de ouvir
Lá ele
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Salvou a tempo
lindo! agora queremos o vídeo completo pra segundarmos direito
The drummer this band needed ❤
I never followed Eloy that much because I’ve never been a Sepultura fan. But I’m glad he got the gig for Slipknot because now I’m paying attention to him more and he’s unbelievable.
Just don't accidentally bang your fists into the rims Eloy. Those hits are Brutal!! 👍👍👍
One time he said it almost happened hahaha
He destroyed his finger once hahaha
The groove on the breakdown is so good! He is amazing.
That’s Tyson just getting out of prison Vibes. Dam you are owing that. But still Grooving 🤘🏻
So glad you're playing with Slipknot 🤘
Show me a video where he is buried? All the ones I have seen you can hear him loud and clear....maybe it was the recording not the bands actual mix?
@@Sundaydrumday So far only seen bad vids for sure (audience perspective), and terrible audio - but I could hear vox/gtrs, prob just lacked low end, so I have no clue what it actually sounds like at the show, but never saw any Sepultura vid with that kind of balance/mix - even the crappy vids fr the audience. Of course - Slipknot's mix/,instrumentation is way more complex for sure. Looking fwd to a show! 🤘🏻
ohhh please tell me there is more footage of you live with slipknot!! this is so crazy good
I love you dude! Best in the world
Eloy, please, film and upload full videos of your play. If you wish and have an opportunity, of course. I am drummer as well and I wish to learn Slipknot songs after your example. I think I am not the only one, who think like that. Thank you and great luck!)
Will there be any drum cams like jay did? I think that was personally one of my favorite parts about the drumming in this band :)
Eloy levará junto com ele o ritmo brasileiro pra todo o mundo. Baterista renomados e futuros bateristas passarão a estudar a música, a percussão brasileira, por causa desse cara. Q orgulho! Humildemente falando, Eloy salvará a grande Slipknot.
Them ghost notes though
Eloy you will take this band into the hall of fame.
Bateria: Ah Zé da manga.
This video gives me PTSD of when my dad got home after my mom told him I was being a little shit while he was at work.
O audio desse video vai virar o toque do meu telefone!
Voa longe casa grande🔥💪
So sick of comments like this. Even if you feel that way (as uninformed as it is), some things are better left unsaid. You don't need to discount Joey to praise Eloy. Smh.
@@xenophagiatrue!
@@xenophagiaele nao desconsiderou. So faloi um fato.
@@xenophagia and i'm sick of seeing your replys arguing about people that has different opinion than yours... chill the f*ck out...
Absurdly agressive drumming. He hits so hard, swinga all the way from behind his head.
Also the ghost notes add a whole new layer to this.
Ghost notes??
@@melvin4553 Those light hits on the snare!
Master at work 👌🏻🤩
Eloy is a awsome drummer, iam happy that is with Slipknot now. But damn that Snare Sound is mehh, i rly dont like it.
The only beast that can make ghost notes make sense in metal.
Thomas Haake have entered the chat 😛
Naw you gotta checkout Mario in Gojira lol
Yes, they are masters, but i meant beast in a literal way (like an ogre)! 😅
@@markwanderley2029 Suuurrreee you did lol
Sensacional

Please do drum cams! 🙏
We need more drumcam like this.. Also full songs haha 🔥🔥
