I love how MJ honored his dear friend Ryan by performing the song "Gone Too Soon" it has deep meaning,MJ's speech at the beginning was very genuine very heartfelt and very wholesome also the fact Gone Too Soon is on the Dangerous album makes it that much more special it is such an underrated song and MJ performed this beautifully he sung it Live as well his vocals were phenomenal during this performance and MJ even got choked up at the end of the performance RIP Ryan White & Long Live Michael Joseph Jackson The Greatest Music Artist Of All Time The King Of Music Forever!😭🙌🏽👑💞💕🌟💯

Always thinking about others even though he himself had enough problems.

He wrote this song for Ryan White who at age 11 contracted the AIDS virus through a blood transfusion as he was a hemophiliac. This was before blood was tested for the AIDS virus. Michael befriended him and was his friend until the end advocating for research and cures and through his efforts brought world wide attention to the problem. At the time people had not been very sympathetic to the situation believing it to only be a problem in the gay community. He and Elizabeth Taylor joined forces to fundraise for the effort as well. Michael even took care of Ryan's funeral expenses. This is such a beautiful song and his voice is just angelic.💫🌟✨. Thank you for this.✌️🦋

Actually Michael did not wrote this song himself. He owned it since the 80's it was to be included in the Bad album but Michael rearranged it when Ryan died and included it in Dangerous. It was written for a female voice, sorry but I don't know who.

😢😢😢😢 That’s the first time I’ve listened to that song since the Memorial. Not sure I’ll doing it again anytime soon🥺Perfect reaction to it though.
Only a few days ago I was watching a clip of Ryan White’s mother being interviewed in recent years talking about everything Michael did for Ryan, his family and shining a light on an illness that was so taboo at the time. She talked about how blown away she was about Michael putting this song on Dangerous and having Ryan featured in the video, especially because he’d promised Ryan that he could be in his next video, but he didn’t survive long enough🥺
To think he could have done ‘crowd pleasers’ like Billie Jean at this event, but chose to use his performance to highlight problems that the audience could have an impact on!
“Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day, gone one night”😢😢😢😢😢

Wasn't just the US press. It was our UK rags like The Sun that started all that 'wacko jacko' crap (also 'jacko' is actually old brit slang for monkey, there were Jacko monkey dolls sold here in UK for decades up to the 80s. Jackson knew this when he said in an interview he's not a 'jacko' and he's not an animal) back around 1985 about same time he bought that huge catalogue that included the Beatles music (which despite what McCartney has whined about, Jackson didn't betray him, he actually had asked McCartney and Yoko Ono if they were going for it and they both said no) and certain racists in the brit tabloids didn't much like an african-american owning their white brit heroes life's work. They were making up all sorts of crap and even outright bullying the man (mocking a letter he sent them asking for them to ease off) and is why he wrote 'Leave Me Alone', so he had about 8 years of that belittling and dehumanisation by the tabloids before the 1993 false allegations which the tabloids absolutely loved to use to twist and lie about him.

By the way I have an image that compares a Daily Mirror newspaper from it's first edition to it's second edition. The first one said he Wowed the audience at the 2006 World Music Awards (though it still insulted his looks), his first public appearance since the 2005 trial but the second edition changed all that and said he was booed off stage. The same day's newspaper with total opposite version of events. Of course we have TH-cam and easy access to actual footage and you can't hear any boos. The entire audience is clearly welcoming him back and singing along with him. That's one of the main examples of evidence that opened my eyes that hey maybe I had been wrong about Jackson this whole time (I never thought him definitely guilty but I didn't know enough facts to say for certain either way, these days though? I've done a ton of research and the man was a victim of lies, slander, extortion and racist schemes to take down a successful black man and/or get a piece of his fortune) and I regret I didn't appreciate him more when he was alive.

Wish you had not gone there but since you did.. Michael was amazing and one of my favorite people he was sweet and very talented, with that being said. He did not beat Elvis that's insane. lmao.

I'm watching this with a very heavy heart ❤️ ❣️ and a multitude of emotions. Sadness, awe, joy, and anger that we never appreciated how gifted and precious this soul was when he was here with us, and it's only now, He's gone that some of us do!! But isn't that the story of the human condition??!! We did the same thing to our Lord, Jesus Christ 😔
